The Firbolgs in my setting are a tribe of fishers on a tropical island. I really like to reoleplay their "no waste culture", they're using every part of the animals, boiling down fat into tallow for their boats and stuff like that

I did make a firbolg barbarian once. It's not the most optimized build, but the roleplay was super fun! Using this class about "raging" with a character that was chill all the time made him super cool and funny. Being the toten of the bear barbarian, allowed me to carry a lot of things.
Overall, became one of my favorite races.

Personally, I love those sort of non optimized builds that unlock lots of cool RP opportunities! - Ted

I have a firbolg druid, that was an older academy professor for troubled children (this meaning those that dont fit in to society normally, like the usual rowdy behavior and those that are "too smart", ect.) that year after year has been the 2nd best professor at the academy (whom the best prof. is his younger half-sister) and decided to explore the lands to learn new education methods and expand his wild shape forms in order to better his teaching methods.

My Firbolg was adopted at the Chantry orphanage by one of the fathers of Bahamut hes a cleric he was a folk hero and had to be rushed away because the spider folk where after him he is half firbolg and half orc and was made by hyrsam to be his cleric with a deal of his chief parents. They gave him a name at the orphanage and the father looks after him knowing he will have to save his tribes one day and rule both cultures. They called him Garrett for a easy name in the human and elf area it means brave spear and to rule which they expect him to later on

Firbolgs are fun to play. I love the concept of being in a disguise and suddenly growing in front of an enemy and roaring.
    Plus sunbeam. LOL.

I really like what you said about them being more like a Bovine. That's something that I think is so cool and am currently working with. Thanks man!

Very nice! I created a firbolg character that is a bit different than most! The info on your video helped me develop it further.
_Valar Stonerest is a firbolg fighter, born in the northernmost region of the Ice Spires, in a village called Frosthold. From a young age, he showed a natural talent for combat and was trained by his parents, who were both warriors. He grew up to be a fierce and determined warrior with a strong sense of morality, known for his bravery and honor. He left Frosthold at 18 to explore the world and hone his skills, becoming well-known as a skilled and respected warrior. He was taken on as an apprentice by a powerful battle master, Dardiane Dawnblade, a half-elf who trained him in advanced battle strategies and tactics and instilled in him a strong sense of morality. With his training complete, he set out on his own to make a name for himself as one of the greatest warriors in the realm. He uses heavy armor and ties back his long hair during battle, and is known for using his strength and skill to defend the innocent and protect the weak._

I was leaning toward making a Firbolg Rune Knight; outcast from his clan because of dark thoughts and desires that set him more firmly in line with his "giant" brothers rather than his clan

Great video. I"m creating a circle of stars Firbolg druid who has been sent out by his clan to discover lost ley-lines (or "fey-lines") of interconnecting travel. This allows a character who is open to meeting other races, and is mission-bound to explore and interact in the greater world. Looking forward to playing him and.. well.. circle of stars? so cool!

The campaign I'm about to join starts with us in prison in a WW2 vibes/steampunk fantasy world. My Firbolg character Fern is there because she was experimenting with magic and plants and accidentally created semi-sentient plants who formed an army (without her knowledge) and marched on the people of the village who treated her with disdain. She is outcast from her clan because of her fascination with combining magic and nature. They believed she was corrupting the natural order and she was exiled. She adopted the name Fern, as she never understood why they didn't have names to begin with and made her own home in the woods away from her home. She heard of the war and learned that the forest her clan protected had been ravaged by battle, and she believes her family to be dead. But she knows that she was as good as dead to them long ago so shetries not to let it get between her and her passion. Although her magic often causes accidents, like the one that landed her in prison. I currently don't have a functioning class for her, but I'm working on adjusting a homebrew I found that fit her quite well, a Chloromaster, which combines spellcasting and nature skills, so it seemed fitting.

Just started playing a Firbolg in a Tomb of Annihilation campaign. They were orphaned by an avalanche in the Spine of the World Mountains of Icewindale and raised by the Thuunlakalaga clan of Goliath. He is starting with one level of Barbarian but I plan to make him a Rune Knight Fighter.
Imagine the biggest Goliath you've ever seen but he has red hair and a beard. He uses a claymore style great sword and no shield.
My DM likes giving racial feats at level one. Since there isn't a Firbolg racial feat, we made one that gives plus 1 to Wisdom or strength and adds Misty Step to Firbolg Magic. He's gonna be one bad mammer jammer.

I lost it at the point were you said that the bovine approach is a incredibly unique idea... I mean minataurs???? Also the bovine approach really goes against the original mythology. They were described as big, ugly men with large noses not cow people. I am sorry I am this salty but firbolgs are my favourite race and when I draw them the Fey-giant way people usually shame me for it and tell me that i am plain wrong and that I sould draw them differently because "critical role".

    • @SkullSplitter
      @SkullSplitter  4 года назад +5

Ehhhhhh, I mean, people should draw em however makes then happy; but I’d definitely not think minotaurs = firbolgs

@@SkullSplitter my point is that we already have a bovine race which is playable and it's a way beter at being a bovine race and it makes sense to be a bovine race.

I started playing DnD just after watching Avatar: The way of water. So I decided to make Na'vi into DnD. As a really tall natur-lovimg, in forest communities- living blue-skinned type of fellas, firbolgs are the best choice.

My firblog meet the party in the middle of a Thicket in the forest they didn’t have a name at the so they named them Thicket. When they first met Thicket was asleep so they didn’t notice at first until one party member stepped on them.. Thicket ended up tossing the soon to be party member into a tree. After apologizing for there outburst, they ended up talking and I joined the party. (My Firblog is between non-binary and gender fluid so they use They/Them pronouns) it was a good end to the session
