- In this video I'll show you how to make bakery style Aata biscuit. They are crispy, easy and very delicious perfect to make in Lockdown with pantry ingredients.

INGREDIENTS
55 grams (1/4cup) Clarified Butter/ Ghee
65grams (1/4 cup + 2tbsp) Powdered Sugar (You can increase if you like them to be sweeter. I'll like mine less sweet)
125grams (1cup) wholewheat flour/Aata
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/8 tsp Salt
3-4 tbsp Milk
Bake at 180C for 18-20mins
1cup = 240ml , 1 tbsp = 15ml, 1tsp = 5ml

Ghee is butter that has been clarified. You call it ghee all you want, but it's still butter. You can't say that the recipe doesn't have butter when it does.

totally agree. but in India when someone says butter they think the processed butter slab. So i understand way that was confusing for you.
it takes a process of about 20 min to convert butter (ghee)into clarified butter if u doing at home , which makes it tastes differnent and even smell different
so they can proudly say its not butter
ghee separates milk from fat, this butter substitute is lactose-free, making it better than butter. theres difference between ghee and butter.
This is a stupid comment. Butter and ghee are different! There’s lactose in butter but ghee doesn’t have lactose.
Butter is clarified to make ghee.
Calling butter and ghee same is like calling milk and yoghurt are the same. Every step of process changes the product.
Also, they taste completely different and the recipes turns out very different depending on what is used for cooking.

So why does it say, "no butter", but the first thing to go into the bowl is ghee, which is butter. Kinda makes me not trust anything further.

Yes dear, when you r using milk or water in dough ,biscuits will be little hard.
If u want more soft, u should not add water or milk..just use oil or ghee to make a soft biscuit dough dear
Maybe you overbaked them.some ovens run hotter or at lower temperatures but cant say.its possible.other people said the same thing and so it may alsobe the recipe

How to incorporate eggs in this recipe because my family wants them egg flavoured.
I think you would add them after finished whipping the ghee and powder sugar! Consider it as wet ingredient.
When we bake, we've to bake with both the rods on( means upper and lower rods). Or only lower rods.

Ghee is butter melted. Kind of misleading. Ghee is concentrated butter.

I like low fat, I rarely see just using 1/4 cup butter. Will try for sure because you have good intructions with measurements all written.

Hi aditi today I tried this cookies recipe..but cookies didn't turned nice it got hard..I baked it in convection mode 170° n for 15 mints..its upper part became dark brown..
Try baking it for about 10 to 11 minutes only it may be overbaked

You also say no maida, but then you add whole wheat flour. Perhaps you meant to say that the recipe doesn't contain finely milled wheat without any bran, refined, and bleached, and it closely resembles cake flour. But when people see no maida (no flour or no wheat flour) they think it's gluten-free because maida typically contains 7.5% gluten.

You are asking people not to add milk as it hardens the cookie but you have added milk to make the dough soft. I am confused whether to add milk or not because without milk dough will be dry. Please share the correct information.
Where have I mentioned that adding milk will harden the Cookie?
