Hello! I wanted less quantity during this trial and so halved all the ingredients-1 cup flour,about half cup butter and half up sugar. When I started mixing, the batter was not coming together and so added a tbsp of milk for binding. At the time of rolling the batter, I was not able to roll it at all as it kept sticking to the pin and also batter started cracking. Due to those reasons I could not proceed further to roll it. Also, when I tried rolling it a bit and tried to cut out a circle with a round lid, the batter got stuck inside the lid and I had to dig it out. What could be the reasons here? Finally I just finished it off using your 2nd variation of cylindrically rolling it, refrigerating it and then cutting it into round slabs. Kindly tell me the reasons.
Also use a 1/4 powdered sugar. Instead of the 1/2 cup you mentioned. ( unless is was just a typo). I’m looking forward to making these. I’ve read the notes and suggestions just to get more perspective. Have a good day! 🌺

I think that you should have avoided the milk and kneaded the dough for more time until it came together 😊
