My late husband is from Scotland he introduced me to Scottish Shortbread he bought from Marks And Spencers it was quite good but when we flew back to his Town in Falkirk and we went to Edinburgh and taste what the locals has instored wow .. the freshly baked shortbread is one of a kind .. 💗💗💗

I made this recipe today and it was super easy and amazing. I am a beginner and it was my first cookie/biscuit ever. I added half a tsp of salt. It's just a little too crumbly. It'll break if I don't pick it up super gently. The only thing that's a little bit difficult is to press the dough evenly and nicely in the cake pan. It might be a bit too bland for some people but considering it's a traditional British cookie to eat with tea, it's pretty spot-on.
One of my favorite recipes, thank you. I had tried a few of your other recipes and they turn out to be over. Now my wife is leaving the baking chores to me. Once again thank you.

Let the shortbread sit in a sealed cookie jar for 2 days and it becomes even better, melting in your mouth. 1 batch of vanilla sugar was perfect, as i did not have vanilla beans. For a full oven tray you will have to quadrouple the ingredients. Would recommend it to a friend. :-)
Shortbread is usually just 3 ingredients (plus a pinch of salt) so this is very interesting! I will try this version, thanks for making this video and posting it!
Just baked some, didn’t add the corn starch cause I didn’t have it also it wasn’t necessary! Taste exactly like the original Walkers omg your recipe is the one perfect texture perfect crisp perfect buttery goodness perfect just perfect 🤩 thanks 😊 a bunch 😘😘😘😘
did u have problems with pressing the dough into the cake pan? mine was really difficult to press. i had to use my fists and both hands, so i was wondering if the starch made it that hard. or what is the corn starch good for? (btw the shortbread turned out well tho)

Vanilla extract is very good but vanilla bean paste is more natural and more aromatic Generally you can use any kind of vanilla you like but artificial vanilla flavours are much lesser in flavour

The original cookies are made with wheat flour not white flour so yes. I make mine with wheat flour and it tastes the same like the original just fresher
I'm a British born, Black Jamaican, Scottish, Indian and as a British person with Scottish ancestry, I promise you, shortbread isn't made with corn starch and vanilla bean paste? Its simplicity is what makes it great. Plain flour, salted butter and caster sugar. Thats it.

Hello. Did you replace the cornstarch with plain flour, or you just skipped it?

Grain size is different for icing, castor and granular sugar, all of them are powdered sugar though
