    Young Lady on the microphone was most likely a rookie cop and was being trained.
    She did OK considering the stress she must have felt as a passenger in that chase.

      @laserjet37main49 Год назад +4

      I think they're likely both fresh out of training. I would shudder to think the driver officer is an FTO with how recklessly he was driving. Many times that you hear "clear" as they approach an intersection, he's already past the point of no return, meaning he's going too fast and is too close to the intersection to be able to stop in time to avoid a collision in the event that either officer noticed the intersection was NOT clear. Additionally, although we can't see speeds, I wouldn't be surprised if they were running triple-digit speeds at multiple points. All of that for what? To be directly behind a suspect that you can't even PIT? I'd imagine (or hope) that more senior MPD officers understand that it's pointless, more dangerous even, to be right behind the suspect when they're not going to directly intervene.

      You mean the police that put community at risk by engaging in this chase? Or are you one of those people not raised correctly that believe "2 wrongs make a right"?
      BTW In Punisher #13, Frank Castle is cornered in an alleyway by uniformed cops who start gushing over their idol when they realize who he is. The officers even ask to take a selfie with Castle to share on their Punisher fan page.
      Tearing a Punisher skull decal off their patrol car, Castle gives the officers a beat down and explains why they shouldn't worship him.
      "I'll only say this once: We're not the same. You took an oath to uphold the law. You help people. I gave that up a long time ago. You don't do what I do. Nobody does. You boys need a role model? His name is Captain America and he'd be happy to have you."

    The constant crossing over into the oncoming lanes is learned behavior. Many of the departments in the area over the last several years have had a policy of terminating the pursuit if the vehicle drives dangerously, including driving into oncoming lanes (if the original offense isn't serious, this was apparently a shooting so they did not back off).
    By the way, the officer giving the play by play needs to pause periodically. Wonder if this is her first pursuit. While the status is important, it doesn't need to be constant if the driver is continuing straight. You can take a 5 to 10 second break now and then to allow other important information to break in, like if someone was setting up stop sticks ahead.

    As someone else said, the 'driving on the wrong side of the road' issue is NOT some 'brainless thug' going nuts, he has been trained, instructed-even, to do this when being chased. Mostly likely his 'immediate boss', telling him 'they will call off the pursuit, if you drive on the wrong side, start hitting cars, etc.' It's a stolen car most-likely (or a junk throw-away)...so they are out nothing. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS, when you try to placate the criminal element with 'soft on crime' policies...they memorize your playbook, and use it against you.
