Oh my gosh, this was so hard for me. I got about 7 or 8 rows in and then ripped the whole thing out because my counts were off (high), and I couldn't rein them back in with my usual technique. I have to start again. Using Lion Brand Low Tide, #4 weight, solid color. A variegated yarn like the one you are using might be easier to see what's going on. I'm going to stick with the Low Tide, though, and hope for better success the second try. Yikes. You make it look so easy, lol. I was sure I could do it. First time doing the V stitch. The hat is pretty, thanks for the tutorial.
I did previously make your "Easy Ladies Hat - spring candy" hat, and it was very easy and came out perfect! I made mine brimless because I live under the Jet Stream and usually it's breezy-to-windy. I just ended the hat with one row of single crochet, and it's great. I use hats to hold my hair from blowing around too much because my hair hates to be restrained and also breaks easily, so hats work much better for me. I'm sure I will make another Spring Candy hat, too! Thanks for that tutorial, as well!!

I have made several of these hats for friends of mine. They absolutely love it! Only problem I have is one person would say it fit perfect, the next would say it was too big, and then another one saying it was too little. I don’t know how to adjust it for different peoples heads especially when they’re not close enough around to measure them. LOL they were all happy with it though.

Love this! I am new to crocheting, this was a new stitch, very challenging, but I did it. You are such a great teacher, so easy as you take us through each stitch! I am so happy with how this turned out. I have been making hats with your other tutorials and I think I am becoming a hat lover! Thank you! :)

Just recently started following you & picking up crocheting again after learning back in HS. I also recently moved from Georgia after 35 years and needed to busy myself, due to long days inside, here in Indiana. Anyway, your RUclips videos have been so helpful & you explain everything so well. Plus, I like that you don’t make your creations so complicated, that they cannot be followed. I’ve picked up consistent techniques that are the same outcome as others. But, you teach how to accomplish the same thing with a better method. I’m currently making your Easy shawl - think #274. Going to Costa Rica this fall, found some colorful yarn (Parrot Stripe by Red Heart) going to see if shawl can also serve as a sarong. I’ll post when done back in that video site. Thought it would be cute over cool night of white tank & shorts or a tank dress....or bathing suit in black or one of colors in yarn. Anyway, hope to make this next as gift. Finding a number of older ladies, as well as myself, like hats like this, as our hair is thinning. Yet, we can look pulled together, plus stay warm at church & social outings or just out & about. Thanks, again. Plan to make many of your projects & will post once completed to give credit where credit is due !!! Blessings !!!

Oh wow I love this hat it was so easy to make. Even with constant interruptions I was able to get it done completely in a couple of hours. I used 100% cotton yarn and a 5.25mm hook and it came out perfect. I will be giving this one to my mother-in-law for mother's day but plan on making a few more for me and more gifts for friends and family. Thank you Crystal for another beautiful pattern and tutorial.

I just made this hat today in Bernat Tweedie, Forest Green colourway using a 5 mm (H) hook instead of the recommended 6 mm. Although Tweedie is labelled as a 6 weight, the hat came out great, perfect size. I did add the flower and an old pin that fit in the centre - it has a green stone in the centre to match the hat - this will be a nice St Paddy's Day hat next year. I love this pattern and how quickly it worked up. I will make it again in other colours.

I made a pair of your finger less gloves earlier and wanted a hat to match so I chose this one. It is beautiful. I didn't bother to keep count of my stitches and it showed in the end result. It look like something great grandma would have worn to bed. A bonnet to match her nightgown. Oddly enough, I loved it anyway and set about to make the flower. Yours still looks much better than mine, so I will try again. Probably with a less softer yarn, and I will definitely keep count, lol. It will be like having two different hats with the same pattern
