Literally saw the thumbnail, ran to the yarn store and now back home and ready to make this hat! So cute!! It jumped in front of all my other projects!!
Hello, Crystal. I will be making this hat since I haven't made anything of yours lately. I will be using Mainstay yarn. I will make sure to post the pics when I'm finished. Thanks for being a good yarn teacher of many products
I used a bulky 6 weight yarn, and it came out great. I think I will make another one, but I think I might have the brim of the hat a different color. Thanks, Crystal, for the really cute pattern.
a bulky 6 weight yarn ? BRILLIANT !!! Thank you for posting this, Yolanda, it encouraged me to use the thicker yarn. What was the brand that you used ?
I can honestly say I've not seen a crocheted hat I like better than this one!! I love making hats and am excited knowing it's easy! Very nice creation!
Wow thank you crystal love is sun hat . hopefully I have the strain of doing all the colors to I have a brain tumor that is pretty horrible and pain I want to do some hats even though I am a freak for hats but love this bucket hat is so awesome thank you so much Crystal you don't know what it means to me God bless you and God bless your family
I use 5 weight yarn single strand 6mm hook, followed the pattern until the last few rows. I increased rounds 4 times instead of 3, and use mini bean stitch to finish the edge. It turned out perfect. Edge is firm, not rolling 😊 Thank u for this great pattern ❤
I made a mistake somewhere.mine is way too big. But I will keep it. Nit perfect but nice. I made rhis one white. You and Passiionkint Kelsie are my best . Hola. Maria and my spoiled doggie Tiny Land from Phoenix Arizona.
I’ve made this hat three times now in the span of 2 weeks! Twice for me and once for my mom and I *cannot* get enough of it. I’ve used Lily sugar and cream for all three hats and they’ve come out great!! Like a mix between a beanie and a sun hat and it’s perfect. ❤️
Hello Crystal, sincerely THANK YOU ! BOD to the rescue once again lol this morning I went to my sons elementary school award assembly and at the end he introduced me to a very sweet young lady (a classmate) when she ran off to go find her friends (lol) he quickly leaned in to tell me her favorite color is turquoise and she would love to have a bucket hat for Valentine's Day !!!! Thanks to your awesome tutorial. I was able to work up this hat in a few hours. By the time he gets home from school today he will have his turquoise bucket hat to gift on Valentine's Day. I truly appreciate your quality content. Thank you 🧶🧡
O my! I have the sweet violet, taupe splash & the rose fume, & teal. Now to pick which color I want my hat to be....finished mine. I chose the taupe sparkle. Love it! Thank u Mrs Bod!
Can't wait to make this for my neighbour. She had operatio on head and she has pain. Loose fitting had is ideal to keep sun off and with brim to shade her eyes as she can't wear glasses for some reason. Thank you.
I'm very new to crocheting - only made 2 1/2 blankets so far, but I followed this tutorial and made 2 of these hats today. The first one turned out a bit small because the yarn was a 3 weight doubled up instead of 4, but it looked good. So I made another with 2 balls of 4 weight and it turned out perfect. Thank you for the tutorial :)
Hi Crystal. I love this sun hat. I'm following you and am at row 4 now. Have to stop for the night, but I'll be back tomorrow. Everyone's going back to work in the early morning, so it's lights off now. Have a glorious night. See you tomorrow. YAY!! I finally finished it. I love this hat. Thank you again Cry5. I'm on & off a lot with my husband home & I'll from Congestive Heart Failure and bad edema in his right lower leg. But I finished this. So stoked. Lol. I'm back to make a 2nd bucket hat. This time. I'm using a turquoise color. It's acrylic and so soft. I'll post it when it's finished on the fb group page. I keep getting interrupted, but I'll keep coming back. I love this hat so much.
Amazing how easy you make patterns to follow. Complete beginner. I made this hat with acrylic. And now I am making another with 100% cotton with smaller needle. Thank you so much
Wow….this hat came out great! I used a bulky 5 tweed acrylic with 6 mm hook. Slightly large on top but looks great! I’m going to make another with doubling the 4 weight cotton! Thank you, Crystal!
Hi Crystal I love this tutorial. I made this bucket hat out of 100 percent cotton peaches and creme and color is emerald energy. You are such a wonderful teacher. Thank you for all the new mystery boxes you have been opening and all the new tutorials. I could watch you all day.
Hello Crystal. I just finished making one for my 8 year old grand daughter. It came out beautiful. Thank you for your tutorials. Have a blessed and productive day.
So sweet I made one for my daughter and me and used baby yarn made a couple for the grand baby's thank you so much for your hard work and beautiful things you make God bless stay safe
Beautiful hat. I found my 2 Hero hooks and I now understand. Thanks, I learned how to crochet at 8 year old with an inline hook which I still have at 60. Never used the other hooks until I watched you.
Crystal, I really like this hat and pattern. I hope to try it in the not to distant future and will post a picture of the finished piece. Thank you so much for posting this.
Yes I finally made it I made two one for my daughter and one for my grandchild for fourth of July red white and blue they love them enjoy doing this hat
Just finished one using some old clearance stash of Yarn Bee Denim in Color (50/50 blend). It's pretty, but my brim does not look like yours. Not as "stiff" or straight. It's as though you can still see the increase "waves" in it. I may try another with a smaller hook. Thanks for always providing really great instructions!
My first time working with two strands. I usually end up pulling my new projects out several times until I actually have it down. This one is no different but I am going to get it . I am excited to see the results. Thank you for the tutorial. You are awesome 🎉
Hi Crystal I have been busy in my garden that hardly grows but saw this hat and had to make it I used a combination of merino gold batik and cotton which made it glide off the H hook nicely I have missed you as I have so many chores outside now, hope Mr.BOD and kids are enjoying your new place looks fabulous Be well Crystal all the best. Jan from Vancouver Island
I love this pattern. ❤ With slight adjustments I can make doilies, market bags and baskets as well as bucket hats. I used peaches and cream cotton yarn with a 6mm hook. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to send you a picture, but trust me my hat looks great.

Hi Crystal I love this hat I am going to make it in a few different colors for.summer and look at some of your other hat patterns also I am going to be starting chemo again for 6 months so I will need to make lots of hats. Have a wonderful weekend! ❣️😊🌺
Donna, I'm so sorry to hear that. But as a cancer survivor I know finding hats that can make you feel better seem hard to find. Just keep thinking positive thoughts it helps. I'll keep you in my prayers and thoughts. Sending you a couple extra Angels 😇 😇 along with a hug.🤗
Oh I want to make this using cotton yarn, in Arizona you need to use cotton. I love this hat, cute to wear when I go bike riding. Thank you for making this.
I'm going to make this for vacation time. I may not get to vacation but it's excellent for anytime. I can make 2 and keep one in my suitcase so I don't misplace it. I need to wear hats as I get sun poison easily. Thanks for a nice and easy hat pattern and being a great teacher. 🤗😇

I love this tutorial! It is such a pretty hat and I love the yarn you used. I don't usually wear a hat but because of some medicines I take I can't be out in the sun for too long and this hat would be perfect in keeping the sun out of my eyes and face. I think it looks very pretty on you too! Thank you for a great tutorial!
I really like this hat, going to make it when I get some yarn. And I think the last row just sets the hat off. I think I will try a cotton yarn for summer wear. Thanks Crystal for another great tutorial.
