I used Red Heart STELLAR & Red Heart Worsted , together ....I followed your pattern exact. The hat turned out huge. I Frogged it & made some adjustments to compensate for the yarn. It turn out beautifully . It looks like a Lambs Wool Clouche. Thanks for the tutorial . Suzanne
Thank you for taking the time to put this video together. I really enjoyed making this hat. However, I learned that you have to do three double crochets and then the decrease to get the correct amount of stitches.

The numbers were off for me...round 9 where I had 60 stitches and was supposed to decrease after every four stitches to get forty eight ... I got 50. So I crocheted three stitches and then decreased and the numbers ce out right

Why am I still coming out with 60 stitches when I do the One DC for four stitches, then the DC with half DC in same 5th stitch in row 9? It's supposed to decrease from 60 stitches to 48. I've pulled out this part about 3 times, already. (Sad!)
if you really decrease it's impossible coming out with same number of stitches! are you sure you don't insert your hook in the stitch you already worked?

probably it's due to the yarn, it could happen with pure wool for exmple or too soft yarn. Try this solution : single crochet instead fo double only on the brim, doing of course double rounds than me
I just found this video and made the hat. Looks just like yours but definitely not adult size! I followed directions. Counted every stitch. Hat is child size! WTH. Advice?

doing another additional round, in this case during additional round you should do some increases in order to avoid the brim could bend

round 8 you have to do all dc without increasing, therefore you are going to work into the same number of stitches of previous round ( 60 st. )
