I never get over how delighted Dave seemed when he ad-libbed something and Paul would throw him an unexpected assist.
You never fail to amaze! Thank you so much for your Letterman uploads
Excellent collection. Never seen most of these, even on the staff favourite moments. Thanks Don!
Most of these never aired, that’s why. :)
This is why I loved the show. Moments like these.
These Twitter posts were always a welcome distraction when scrolling through my timeline from hell. Thanks for compiling them and, again, thank you for all you do!
Carl was right on the money with his estimate of 30 to 40 years, “if you keep these clips...” And it’s Don who’s really made that happen.
It only took a few years for him to amass a huge fan base.
Incredible moments! Plus an electrifying outro from that partyin', partyin' show band!
This is great. Appreciate everything you post. I remember a short nothing moment at the desk from the early 2000's(I think) where Dave is playing with the microphone on the desk and he breaks it. I've been looking for the clip and can't find it. It probably wasn't that funny, but I remember it tickled me to death at the time.
Hmm - just spent some time trying to find it in some LS databases but came up empty. No doubt your memory is spot on, I just can’t locate it yet.
And thanks!!
Great random collection. Loved the uncensored stuff. And the band at the end is fantastic. What a machine! Anton rules!
This is THE BEST!! Thank you Don!
This is stellar! Thank you, Don!
You're doing an incredible job. Thanks.
This makes me so happy.
This was great. Thanks for putting it together.
The phrase Dave keeps repeating in Spanish is "How much for the big ham?"
“It’s apparently cold water!“😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
That cake stunt had to hurt. Man, he came so close to hitting his head on that ladder. I don't know how he kept his hands off the floor. Probably a smart move.
Oh God, yes! As someone who watched when Conan O'Brien got a concussion in almost the same pose, I was bracing for the worst... and then I remembered we saw Dave well and as sharp as a tack for years afterward and got chill.
Reminds me of Richard Belzer being choked out by Hulk Hogan. Now that was downright scary.
Just what I needed after a long, awful day. Awesome compilation! Do you happen to have any of the lateshow.com exclusive videos backed up? Like The Tony Mendez Show?
I have a few. I’ve put several Tony Mendez Shows up.
@@dongiller The joy of this content is obviously from Dave, but your hard work is the only way the world can enjoy it in 2020, and for that I'm very appreciative. Thanks for everything!
@@LBNrisio Thanks!!
I have no idea what this is and I love it.
This is terrific!
I like to think I'm a pretty high-brow, sophisticated type... then I blurt-laugh uncontrollably at the witty observation "You'll laugh 'til you shit".
Something about sudden, blunt vulgarity from folks who don't generally traffic in that makes it exponentially funnier. It happens for me with Paul F Tompkins as well.
I don’t bother with the twitter so I’m glad you posted this compilation. “Off-script Dave” was easily the top reason to watch the show. The title here had me thinking it would include the scenes where he was tweeting, which are also SOLID GOLD.
Do you recall the show where he came out and used the word “psyched” several times during the monologue, only to later admit he did it because someone made him a $50 bet that he wouldn’t say it once?
I have nothing logged in on that, so it’d be needle/haystack.
@@dongiller Yes that doesn’t seem at all like something a person would log. Not even Mike. It was probably somewhere in the early hi-def days. I know this doesn’t matter but I was pretty psyched to tell you anyway.
@@Some-guy-you-dont-know So it was Late Show. I had mistakenly assumed it was Late Night. I’ll look further, then and will let you know if I find it.
I love this!!!!!! What’s your twitter handle?
@thedonz5
Thanks Don! Great moments. Hey, I wanted to ask about a certain date I can find no info or guest list for - March 1, 1990. TV.Com and other searches I tried give me nothing. It was a Thursday and I know March 2,1990 had Tom Hanks and Jack Hanna. Was there a show on March 1? Spent way too much time searching. Should've asked you in the first place.
Guests were Richard Lewis, s/fx artists Rick Lasserini and Howard Berger, and Daniel Stern.
@@dongiller Awesome Thanks Don!
I thought this was a Dave's tweets collection, a late period running joke where Dave live tweeted on the show.
Hopefully you read the description.
Love this one don!
In my very personal and very unsolicited opinion, if someone asked me about a moment that could capture the essence of Late Night, it would be the one starting at 20:32. Dave's "fuck it" mode + a machine shooting marshmallows + audience going anarchic is just... it just *is*! (asks Paul Shaffer to play "Bermuda")
Great!
..it was going SO GOOD....until after the "Johnson" incident... ..after that, I had the same reaction as David when he'd heard Paul use the "other" word... ..I felt like (still feel like) kneeling on the floor, trying NOT TO 'get sick' at all of the offensive language... ..I dont care what others think about me, but I was properly taught to, "..say what you mean, and mean what you say..." ..in my entire life, I've only uttered ONE bad word... and, immediately after that word came out of my mouth, I felt like I had to wash my mouth out with soap ! ..it NEVER happened again ! ..as much as I respect and admire people such as Robin Williams and Richard Pryor (and David Letterman), their material would be 1,000 times funnier if they'd have kept it 'clean'... ..if people think it's "funny" to "laugh at" vulgar, offensive language, that just shows you, "..we're near the end of civilization...", as David Letterman would say... 😣
If you're taunting Don into putting together a Kathleen Ankers/Peggy The Chambermaid compilation, well played. These clips was brilliant. I love that there was no underlying theme or even any chronological order to them. The unaired promos were glorious.
