Who would have thought Artie would be the last man standing among Saget, McDonald and Rickles?
He kept the spread on Rickles, so I break even.
Don’t forget Gottfried.
@@patreekotime4578
I’m factoring in Rickles’ age, lol…Artie really seemed like he could die at any time even before Rickles passed.
@@hall911guy True - but not relevant to the story told in the video, which involved Artie and the other three men, but not Gilbert Gottfried.
Hold up. Artie is still alive???
His facial expressions of Don Rickles talking are dead on…
Artie's a genuinely good guy who lost his way for awhile. Broke my heart to him struggling the way he did. I hope he's doing better now.
Heart of gold, the peoples champ.
Artie is a great storyteller also.
I hope Artie outlives Howard stern
spot on. 10000% true
Artie is the Keith Richards of comedy. Most of his pals and contemporaries have gone and he's still standing.
Great reminder of how hilarious Don Rickles was. I was rolling with laughter at these off the cuff insults of Artie Lang. I wouldn’t have been able to keep a straight face either.
Artie's a great raconteur; so relieved this isn't a memorial upload.
Artie is just such a genuinely good guy, you can't help but root for him
Seriously? He's a dirtbag and always has been.
Arties one of the best to ever do it. Kept the ball rolling the entire segment. A very commanding story teller as well.
I was afraid for a second that Artie had died...I love all of Artie's appearances on Dave. Surprisingly, they have great chemistry together.
Yeah you kind of wonder if someone has died when it's put on this channel.
To great talkers and one is a professional listener, and you're surprised they have great chemistry?
for real dude. 1000% true!!
I enjoy seeing Dave not have to work so hard and let someone hilarious tell a story.
Hey go easy on Fallon he’s not that bad! 😂
@@par32 Fallon tries too hard. He's always overselling how much he's 'laughing'. Very cringe.
that's right. entirely spot on.
Dave was trying his best just to get through it. Artie is not funny.
“The man grabbed his chest” is a top five Rickles joke and it’s that funny second hand
Supremely funny line. Kinda easy to spot the people with a good sense of humor on that one, notice how loud Dave is and how relatively quiet the audience is in comparison, a lot of them didn't quite get it.
Hope Artie is doing well today
I just got his book as a Christmas gift and can’t wait to read it! Don Rickles was truly a legend!
Love Artie..he's hilarious and a genuine good guy!
Such a genuine guy. I remember hearing his voice on the radio for the first time on a rainy Oregon winter day muddy ass construction site. He had me laughing my ass off.
Artie Lange always struck me as genuine.
Generally speaking genuine people don't fabricate huge parts of their lives and pathologically lie to their friends, family and work colleagues...
I've heard Norm till the story many times it was great to see another perspective.
0:49 almost drops an F bomb lol
I don't know who said it, and I think it's a fairly famous quote, but one of the greatest lines that I ever heard was "Don Rickles was so funny that he spent his life insulting mobsters to their faces and he died of old age"
Artie was always a really good guest on talk shows. He reminds you of the old Carson guests telling funny stories.
I love Dirty Work. Very funny movie.
Don Rickles was a legend, and I don’t think anyone living or dead could challenge his acerbic wit and demeaning humor.
We love you Artie! he was always one of Letterman's faves on the show
Dirty Work is an absolute classic
When is lunch?
What a great guest!
Baskin n Johnson called. They tell me you ate up all their ice cream
Artie looks pretty good for where he was at his life. Dirty works is hilarious.
Artie will outlive all of us.
Jimmy Carter will outlive Artie and everyone else.
I miss Artie so much!! 💙 I wish he would come back to the radio. I need to find his podcast If he has one
He has a podcast and a really good one at that. But he took a break several months back. He hasn't returned yet. Hopefully, he'll be back soon.
@@ontologicallysteve7765 Thanks. I love Artie
He forgot the funniest remark of Rickles ,
'Do there you are , tubby , you look like a bucket of lard on a bad day...'
Love Artie! Keep the uploads of him coming!!
If you're wondering if you'd like Beer League, you would. Solid comedy throughout, sort of like a Will Ferrell movie.
You guys scared me by posting this - thought it meant he died.
I think he's been on the dead pool list for about 20 years. Still beating the odds.
For anyone not in the know, Artie was apart of the original cast of MadTV and was an employee of the Howard Stern show. Very prolific career beyond Dirty Work where costarred with Norm MacDonald and was directed by TV’s Bob Saget who hosted Americas Funniest Home Videos which was basically RUclips before people had the internet.
He was also in Norm's sitcom and was quite good in it.
@@aaacomp1 Very true. So was the guy from Alf.
*A part. Not apart.
@@jumpinjojo What do you mean?
Love hearing stories about Rickles
Artie's mon, Judy, always said he was the most handsomest boy in all of New Jersey.
I would love to see Artie again.
I just hope Artie gets his life straightened out and gets back on top. He's a talented comedian.
could not agree more. 110% accurate
He has just not in the limelight anymore
Googling Artie's name to see if he died . . . .
Just came back from that google search to finish watching one of my all time favorite letterman clips lol
Every time they post a clip like this, I immediately think the worst.
Same.
Audibly said, "oh no" when I saw this. Be well, baby gorilla
Yup
Don Rickles was so funny that even a simple re-telling of his jokes is enough to crack anyone up. You will notice Artie didn't actually have any jokes himself.
I was thinking the same thing, but in fairness, if you meet the King, have Weird Al parody your song, or get roasted by Rickles, it's one of the big events in your life no matter who you are. Even if you are the King, getting roasted by Rickles.
Don Rickles is one of the funniest human beings to ever exist.
@@ryanduray1 *Was. He’s dead.
@@jumpinjojo The "to ever exist" part of my statement negates any need for past tense.
@@ryanduray1 Incorrect.
I miss Artie....best thing to ever happen to the Howard Stern show.
Billy West + Jackie was a better combo, but you had to be a teenager in the 90s to appreciate it
@@steveknick1978 those were the good 'ol days.
bingo! utterly spot on.
@@steveknick1978 I was a teenager in the 90s and for me, Artie was the best thing to happen for the Howard Stern show.
@@normie2716 it’s a matter of taste. Howard was definitely at the peak of his own powers in the 90s…that’s when he had the most listeners, 2 #1 bestselling books, his movie & the E! show all at once. The only major accomplishment Howard had after 1997 was the Sirius contract, & that’s about money & not really a traditional “accomplishment”.
1990s there were no segment producers like KC, Will & Jason…Howard, Jackie & Fred did all the show prep & Howard’s 24/7 life obsession was the show. Post divorce & therapy era was more about Howard checking that obsession & enjoying his free time & letting others do the show prep. His new obsession became Beth & the show quality took a backseat.
Artie did do a lot of heavy lifting to help make Howard’s life easier & that’s why he refused to let Artie leave until Artie did the unthinkable.
One of thee funniest scenes I've ever seen.
The artie years on Howard were the best Howard years. Show hasn’t been even close to what it was since he left. Hope the guy is doing well.
Feels like a different lifetime watching this things seemed so much happier!
love you dave!!!!!!!!!
Dirty Work is a great movie that wasn't appreciated in its time. Thank you, Bob and Norm
Artie is awesome telling the story
Fire!
This is great
Artie was the best sidekick that HS show had.
Nah it was George takei
We luv Artie, We miss Artie. I'd luv to see a comeback. Get up artie, let's go!
Dirty Work and Beer League are two of my favorite movies.
Dirty Work is a great movie and Artie's great in it and he was great in Billy Madison
Good luck working construction is genuis 😂
Dirty Work is freakin awesome
It's top notch
This has to be an intentional head fake. The posting of this video started as a conversation about the least surprising people that could die. I had no doubt, before I clicked on it I said "Aw, Artie finally died."
Great story!
Rickles was and always will be the king! 👑
Best storytelling ever!! Who is this guy? I'm going straight to Wikipedia!
Artie tells a story about him, Don Rickles, Norm Macdonald and Bob Saget. What kind of deal with the devil did Artie make where he is the only one of those 4 still alive?
Who the hell would have thought: Bob, Norm and Artie, and Artie is the one who is still with us. I love Artie, but dang, never saw that coming.
he put the least effort in and had no stress
Rickles was 90. He wins lol.
I can hear Adam Sandler now as the devil: BURN BURN
My guess is. Rickles had to be told who Artie was.
Even if 2% of Artie stories are true, he has had a great life. The cost of many of those experiences few are willing to pay for. Other experiences he has had you don't want them happening to you. Time passes, and friends grow apart. Only the memories remain the same. (Insert expletive here) the Pelican Man's bout with menopause.
*FABULOUS!!!!*
"Cut ... Don, you can't insult him as Norm McDonald." 🤣 👉 🤓
This is the humor i like......
I wonder what did the audience member yelled out at 0:38 that was edited out?
I thought it was a lone audience member applauding Dirty Work.
Dirty Work is a classic.
Arthur Steven "Artie" Lange, Jr. (Livingston, New Jersey; 11 de octubre de 1967) es un actor estadounidense.
56 AÑOS.
That’s a fantastic story.
Rickles was the only guy in the world that can openly insult Frank Sinatra without being wacked....They were absolute best friends and Sinatra would kill for the guy.....Also, unlike the comedians of today, Rickles was the only person who would insult you and you'd know it was a big deal and compliment and at the end of the day you'd know that Rickles did it with love!
Norm brought me artie. Fell in love. Ba ba booey.
This guy outlived betty White.
Artie WHOOOOOO????
the best ....
Artie telling the story is better than the scene in the movie.
Dirty Work is an awesome movie, idc what anyone says.
RIP ARTIE
ARTIEEE!!!
I used to think Gilbert Gottfried's impression of him was just a bunch of hilarious nonsense, but when you listen to him by himself for a period of time you can really see where it came from.
Clogged Artery Lange
I miss Artie........and Norm. They should have made like 5 buddy movies.
This is before he lost his nose
Artie!!!
Artie!
When is lunch?
Bob, Don, Norm…….wow…..😢😢😢😢
Life, reality, nature
We'll be right back with Busta Rhymes.
Love artie
Waaaahhhhh!
I was on top, now I'm at rock bottom. Waaaahhhhh!
In this particular case, checking to see if the subject of the video had died was HIGHLY warranted.
Hope Artie is okay. Not the biggest fan of his, but he’s been through the wringer.
Well, off of the script Don was right about Artie LOL
1:51
Perhaps the greatest mistake/injustice to Don Rickle's career happened when people tried to script him. Rickles just wasn't that funny when people did that. One would think over time they would get a clue and just let him be himself.
Funny
And Gilbert.
Don Rickles...can't say enough good things about him...
What happes at 40 seconds?
Artie forever.
Artie has Never-EVER been funnier.
Dirty Work was great!
He looks like Johnny Roast Beef from GoodFellas.
