It is just unbelievable how short the game is comparing with how it felt when I was a little kid, felt like a whole movie back then. Every sound fx and music bring me right back to the arcade at the mall. The most precious memories of how wonderful and simple life was.
He's going very fast, most people would move through the levels a bit slower. I have seen videos that are considerably longer and it just feels more enjoyable to watch and a bit more epic in scale like you were describing.

Indeed, until Namco said fuck it all, and came out with Tekken. 16 bit home game systems couldn't render a completely faithful translation/duplication/interpretation of even 2D arcade games, but once the original Tekken came along in late 1994, necessitating the release of the Playstation system, it brought about the beginning of the end of arcade game culture. Yeah, Capcom kept it alive for the remainder of the 20th century with: Darkstalkers (1994); Street Fighter Alpha Warriors Dreams (1995); X-Men: Children of the Atom (1995); Marvel Super Heroes (1995); X-Men vs. Street Fighter (1996); Street Fighter vs. Marvel Super Heroes (1997), and Marvel vs. Capcom (1998)... but the living room duels and campaigns in Tekken 2, Soul Blade, Resident Evil, Tekken 3, Golden Eye, Metal Gear Solid, Perfect Dark, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 during the same time period on the Playstation, Nintendo 64, and Sega Dreamcast systems were nothing less than paradigm shifting.

End with a score over 300,000 points You did them all in one shot, using only your very first life. Congratulations, and I take my hat off to you, while bowing down to you and saying "I'm not worthy of such greatness!" Outstanding!!!! :)

Right! i could never get past those *Flying Ninjas* in the JUNGLE 12:45 i always wondered how a person was able to figure it out... in a arcade setting Good times :]
Hellwyck ahh interesting. Thanks. My view of the world was quite strange because i thought Jacks (from the game where you bounce the balls into the Jacks) were somehow related to this game because some of the enemies looked like Jacks. It was quite confusing.
1987, the golden age of the arcade started when the graphics of the computers and consoles couldnt compete, Shinobi was among the best hits of its time.
Yea, when I was about 7 I was able to beat this game on one quarter and without dying. My friend used to bet people at the pizza parlor. Great confidence builder at the time.
I just noticed something. When Musashi uses ninja magic, he shouts "TERIYAAA!" What's cool about this is that in Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic shouts the same thing in that one scene where he takes out the Egg Golem in the Dark side part of the story. Neat, huh?
Respect to your ninja skills man. Playing this as an adult and this shit is way harder than I remember! Don't think I ever clocked it and, looking at that final boss, probably never will.
It's easy doing that when you use an Emulator with TAS Features. Should be pretty well known by now, that World of Longplays doesn't do legit playthroughs.
Wow...you ever you are that played this game...you are a champ!! When I used to play this game, I could never get passed the 2nd level!! Whoo-wee! You are good!

i spent more quarters on this game than any other arcade game ever. $5 in quarters at a time and only made it to Lobster at the end of stage 4. the soundtrack is so nostalgic.
i could never get past the Flying Ninjas in the JUNGLE 12:45 i always wondered how a person was skilled enough to do it. *NO CONTINUES* on the final Mission!! :]
What i loved about this was the different colours of ninja, they each had different moves - that fired my imagination as a kid... Especially because you only really see the blue ninja in full action in the last few stages.
Totally agree, multi-coloured Ninja's are such a cool concept, it kind of makes it more story/movie like having the distinct enemies and variations to their attacks.

I think it was called. One before the Genesis. It was OK for a home system back then. A better game for the master system was Kenseiden I think it was called. Japanese samurai game. Loved that game
I hated the first part of Mandara (stage 3 boss), with all the statues. I would always die once before getting past them, unless I successfully used the Ninja Magic trick - hit Ninja Magic when you're in the air and really close to the statues, and when the magic ends, you end up inside them. Hold the joystick to the left, and you'll bounce back and forth until you come out the other side. It was very difficult to do, and I was rarely successful.

Spiderman, Shredder, and even Marilyn Monroe

I've watched this more than 5 times and I can never get tired of it. I enjoy it very much every time I see it. Your performance on here is perfect.
Love watching this. Brings me back to when I was 5 or 6 and my grandma would give me quarters to play this at Thriftway along with Quartet 2.
That'll just be a Quartet machine with 2 players instead of 4.
Hellwyck ahh interesting. Thanks. My view of the world was quite strange because i thought Jacks (from the game where you bounce the balls into the Jacks) were somehow related to this game because some of the enemies looked like Jacks. It was quite confusing.
One of my all time top 5 arcade games here. I miss the old days.....
Nothing pulls me in like watching a playthrough of an old school video game
Oh man, this brings back some good memories. Don't think I ever made it to the last level, though.
