Games like this really make me cherish growing up in the 80s.. always looked forward to going to the local arcade after school just to play this game and beat with a single 1up. No other era will ever be like the 80s. Good times!!!!!
Not me. Everyone thought I was a scrub and was destined to die in the first stage. I got to the last stage, only to get killed by the last boss. It took 1 quarter. 😂
I remember seeing this cabinet at about every gas station in the 80s. Always seeing that demo with the throwing stars and the ninja landing right in front of you. Classic!🤓
@@Cluez31 it made me think ninjas were very serious. And to think what happened right after the ninja lands in front of you. Also I remember the small pink ninjas tied up and the sound it made when you rescued them and they jump away. Also the spiderman colored wall ninjas crawling that would jump. And the music has always been stuck in my head ever since. I never played the game. I just saw big kids and adults playing it at a pizza parlor.
Ramstein AFB Youth Center, Germany1988/89 after skating the halfpipe behind the high school.. saved all my lunch money to blow on this game. Favorite arcade game of all time. There will be no era like the 80's again. Happy memories. Thanks for the upload.
i don't even remember anybody even saying they beat this game (where i grew up, obviously). they had one at the skating rink and i don't remember seeing any other kids get past that 3rd level
I was actually fortunate to watch someone ace through this game back in the day. It was a Mexican immigrant kid who couldn’t have been older than 10. He spent only one single quarter, and I got to see how the game actually ended!
I rented this game for old school nintendo @ blockbuster video. time changes and i miss both blockbuster video and old school nintendo.i dont care about xboxes and playstations or newer versions of nintendo.if i werevto go back to play any console it would be turbo grafix 16,old school nintendo and original sega.
The bonus stage Shurikem throwing was the first FPS game thing i ever recall seeing. It was so futuristic sctually standing there hrowing shurikens in first person , as opposed to only side scrolling.
Brilliant the 1st stage and backround music brang all those childhood memorys back..funny but it felt like yesterday unfortunately its more like 35yrs ago😆😆😆 so im watching this and my son is on the PS4 playing GTA5 games & graphics have come along way..2020🤙🤙
After a fortune spent in coins...I used to get 20.000 Points Bonuses on each and every stage! No suriken or bullet thrown! Just punches, kicks and slashes! The best arcade ever!
This was definitely an arcade favorite back in high school. It's a small thing perhaps, but I loved how your ranged attack would automatically switch to a sword attack if the enemy was in melee range.
À chaque fois la petite musique lors du “game over” me donne des petits frissons. On se sent vraiment dans la peau du hero. Du pur esprit des années 80.👍🏼
This arcade machine was in the dark room of my arcade growing up. Next to it was Rampage, Robocop, Strider, Wwf Super Stars. Good times. Was like 1990 or earlier.
Fez me lembrar do tempo que eu estudava no ensino médio, e costumava jogar fliperama nas casas de jogos eletrônicos, em shoppings centers. Um dos meus jogos favoritos inesquecível. Um abraço!
I only grew up with the SMS version of this game, so checking this out was a new experience for me. Pretty cool how the bosses make small cameos to start shit with you before taking off!
my uncle has this arcade game in his basement since I was able to tell, and I could never get past the chopper part in my later years. this brings so much nostalgia and competitiveness in me I cant even explain it.
Fantastic game this was. Remember spending all my holiday pocket money on this game in the late eighties. We had a shop round the corner from me and I kid you not; you couldn't get through the door on the weekends with kids waiting to have a go. Also has some very catchy music.
I was 13 yo when i used to play it in an old friend's bedroom ^^ And now still playing videogames....! ^^ Between this and battlefield, there is clearly a world... but nostalgy still there...! very very nice gameplay 👍👍
There used to be a table arcade setup of Shinoli at the Pizza Hut on 86th and Michigan Road in Indianapolis that Fascinated me as a kid! I sure miss that
I remember my buddy having a Sega Genesis, and I’d try playing Shinobi. Let’s just say I’m glad Sega was free because this game used to kick the crap outta me.
I think I completed this at least once maybe twice , was my favourite game and I used to go to the kebab shop every Friday with about 3 or 4 10p coins , even watching it now for the first time in decades I could remember the next move , playing it a console a few years ago was not the same as the arcade machine
really good players played it without any ranged attacks, you then get a super bonus every level. It was mesmerizing to see them go (i sucked at it lol)
Well I can't unthink this now, stage 5, act 2 ... I just imagine some sort of ninja cannon mounted on the roof shooting those spinning blue ninjas at you.
Shinobi looks like a great champion of the game how you are playing so confidently with so much confidence never taking any chance it's very difficult for me to play like this it's impossible

I remember I used to spend hours to play this video game. The music, the sound! Gone are the days! 😢😢
I could never get as far as masked ninja, 30 years later my life feels a bit more complete. Thanks for the upload!!!
I lost a fortune and hours on an arcade playing this when I was a kid.
Story of my life .. You are not alone :)
same for back then the graphics were insane
This is way better on the Sega Master system.
Not me. Everyone thought I was a scrub and was destined to die in the first stage. I got to the last stage, only to get killed by the last boss. It took 1 quarter. 😂
@@mikebison9838 How old were you when you did that?

And the scary piano sound. I thought it was really serious and scary when I was a little kid seeing that.
Me too, thats what i remember about this game. I saw it at a hotel in Louisville when my dad took me to the Mid-American Trucking Show.

i don't even remember anybody even saying they beat this game (where i grew up, obviously). they had one at the skating rink and i don't remember seeing any other kids get past that 3rd level
@@bradybrapples Exactly. Looks like some games fron that time weren't made to be beaten. Most of them I just saw the end nowadays, with the Internet.

Back in 1999 i finished the game, the Turbografx version. The ending while simple shocked me. Never thought it would be like that
I loved this game. Reminds me of growing up in the 80s and 90s,things seemed so promising then.
The music and sound EFX are awesome! Now, I want some Round Table pizza
Lol round table for sure!!!
YES!
Pizza hut, birthday parties, my own,my brother, sister and cousins, friends. 8 -12 years old. I miss those days

Yeh I do remember I could get through missions 1 to 3 defeating without throwing a star knife.
1:03 this is probably the first and only time he used a gun
I remember this in the Tesco Bedford staff canteen 1988, some of the young student workers would blow shitloads on this!
One of the Masterpiece of belt-scroll action game
Wow, what a blast from the past. Going to school as a youngster, be late because of this game
This was definitely an arcade favorite back in high school. It's a small thing perhaps, but I loved how your ranged attack would automatically switch to a sword attack if the enemy was in melee range.
Played many times on Sega and C64. Love it! 👍💖

Omg this is amazing I want this machine in my room the sound is amazing and reminds me of one of my memories as a child
Sega nostalgia is real❤️❤️❤️
I agree
Shinobi, operation wolf, Gauntlet, and super off-road ate up so much of my time and grass cutting money😂

Many hours and quarters spent on this game back in the day. Good memories.
So much memories, playing this game on Saturday morning in the bodega.
I tried beating this game on Mame over a decade and a half ago and I noticed death in the last round there is no continues.

I’ve beaten this game several times and thought that I was good at it. Until I watched this. 🤯🤯🤯
Lol, try to do special on every fucking level you dumb fuck. I did special on every single level ! Including last stage .

I played this a lot as a kid on arcade machines
Good game...never got that far when I was a kid.
It's a shame I have all the 10 p's I could want there are no more arcade machines left out there to put them in.
Great game, big bro was beating this game at 9 years old giving any kid who dared a chance to beat the last boss. Fun Times.
Wow nostalgia overdrive...I was 13 or 14 when I played this
Juan Ayala I was 7 it’s one of my first memories and the music is amazing
Refreshing to know that this wasn't some feaver dream I had as a child

Welcome to Bonus Stage
Pretty sure this is what introduced me to ninjas back in the day
Awesome! I remember this game...final boss seemed a tad anticlimatic though. I didnt even know he was a boss!

Beat this game last night on Switch, It’s great and it’s aged really well imo
Favorite arcade game of alltime
You didn't us a power. That's quite something 👍 😮
I spent so much money on this game in the arcade.
I had this game on the first sega.I couldn't wait to get home from school and play it 😅😅
Old school games! My top one for sure. Long and difficult. To finish the game with one voin you had to be a pro!
I used to love goinG the arcade back in the day playing operation wolf with the uzi and that 3d star wars game where you sat in machine.
1 quarter is all it takes to beat the game. What a memory.
more than a few references to Wham! in the soundtrack, love it
really good players played it without any ranged attacks, you then get a super bonus every level. It was mesmerizing to see them go (i sucked at it lol)
Well played! Stage 4 gets a little crazy!
THIS GAME HAS SOME JAMS!🔥
I love this game!
You are a very great player :)
Savestates.
Always wondered why he has his face uncovered when he is a ninja and appears masked in the intro! I´m glad they fixed that in the genesis versions.
Boy i use to love this shit.
Bring me back in time!!
The sound of the ninja stars is soooo satisfying
You can fall in the water?
Lol I know right!
you would land on the ninja's sword and instant death.
Lol the Spiderman esque wall crawlers
Well I can't unthink this now, stage 5, act 2 ... I just imagine some sort of ninja cannon mounted on the roof shooting those spinning blue ninjas at you.
Eternal Shinobi ! 🤘 Very good, thank for sharing 👍

Uno de mis mejores juegos de las maquinitas.
Why is Spider-Man in a Shinobi game?
I think Sega had the rights to use him then.
I remember this from a long time ago jeez
كنت لحقها لافينال هذي ايام زمن الجميل
Those are the best days
This guy will probably put the arcade place out of business...😅
They had this at the pizza hut in my hometown. I used to eat pizza then go grease up the handle and buttons on this masterpiece!!!
Back when Pizza Hut was worth a fck. Lol
Usually Pizza Huts only had tabletop Ninja Gaiden, so maybe you’re misremembering it as a different pizza parlor; Roundtable perhaps.
@@kramaleravMaybe their Pizza Hut was simply cooler, haha.
I was the best at this game and arcade back in the day
Shinobi looks like a great champion of the game how you are playing so confidently with so much confidence never taking any chance it's very difficult for me to play like this it's impossible
Perfect playing
when I was a kid.. I can't even pass stage 3. now I can see beyond my limit LOL!
