    You are so amazing and strong. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It is so eye opening. I got my diagnosis for hyperthyroidism from a basic thyroid blood test 3 weeks ago right during the holidays. And right around Christmas I had more extensive blood work done and started medication right away to reduce the production of my thyroid gland. I received the results with very high levels on all the antibodies markers and the doctor called me right away and told me I needed to increase my thyroid medication from twice a day to three times a day. Now I have one more blood test in 2 days and the following week I finally get to discuss all the blood work with my primary doctor. I have also reached out to an endocrinologist and have an appointment set up the day after my appointment with my primary. From my search online I have found that two antibodies markers that are off the charts for me have a high likelihood of thyroid cancer. I was also listening to podcasts and doing as much research as I can and wanted to incorporate naturopathic solutions to implement in my treatment. I haven't discussed alternative naturopathic medicine with any doctor and I know they will disagree. But as I keep my search for my situation I will follow the medication treatment I am currently on even though it's truly making me feel so much worse. And follow a non inflammatory diet. I would like to hear you talk about your take on non inflammatory diet and autoimmune diet. If you have any suggestions on naturopathic resources for hyperthyroidism I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. And I wish you nothing but the best on your journey as a Functional medicine Nurse Practitioner.

    My mom went through it. It was very difficult for 6 months with many defficiency like calcium, potassium and magnesium. She stayed in only in hospital for 1 month, however after 7 months everything is going good, we filmed many videos in the process to keep her entertained and create memories but now she goes to work and feels very normal. Don't worry, it will be fine for you.

    I have thyroid cancer and getting my total thyroidectomy on 11/6/23. I also have Lupus, Sjogrens, RA and Myasthenia Gravis. I also have to take Warfarin for life because I’ve had 2 strokes and 3 pulmonary embolisms. I wish I could find a diet that doesn’t over-thin or thicken my blood like the anti inflammatory diets I see everywhere! 🤦‍♀️

    Tara, Hi! You wanted to hear our stories...here's mine. After blood tests, a sonogram, and a radio active iodine uptake test, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I have nodules on both sides of my thyroid. The hot nodules (hyper) are on the right lobe. The nodules which looked concerning, and suspicious were located on my left lobe. I was sent to a Cytopathology Specialist for FNA on the two concerning/suspicious nodules (Tr4). I waited on the medical table while the pathologist did what was needed to give me results ASAP. Her findings, no cancer found. All the other nodules rate Tr 1 - 4. I was put on methimazole 2.5mg daily. The dosage was too strong for me. My stomach was killing me, and it was making extremely loud noises. The endocrinologist changed my prescription instructions. Instead of taking methimazole daily, was switched to three days a week. The change made no difference with my reaction to the medicine. I was then eventually weaned off this medication because it was making me sick. My nodules on the left lobe were growing, and one was pushing on my esophagus causing me to feel as if I have something stuck in my throat all the time. I find myself constantly clearing my throat. I have this annoying cough, get dry throat, and have had several choking incidents which have freaked my husband out. I have this cold intolerance in my feet, hands, and nose (odd place), I have a hard time sleeping. When I sleep, I'm lucky to get 4 hours. I'm losing hair, I can't lose weight (I've tried), and have extremely dry skin. On December 1st, I'm going in for a thyroidectomy. I'm concerned about cancer because my neck is sore in areas (lymph nodes), and I've been battling for years to find a doctor who would listen to me. In the recent 2 years, I've found a primary care doctor, and an endocrinologist who are listening. The process, and tests take time. I'm going to be stressing until I get those results once pathology gets my thyroid.
    Oddly enough, my symptoms match that of hashimoto thyroiditis. I was tested for graves disease, that came back negative. My endo diagnosed me with toxic multinodular adenoma.
    I just want to be able to sleep, feel like a normal person because I do not feel myself,, and no longer choke.
    I would love to hear more about your current diet, what you make to feel better. Recipes, ect....

I'm not bloating in the face as I was before. My incision is healing nicely. I go back to my surgeon next Wednesday for my results, and follow up. I'm looking forward to feeling better in time.

    Is cancer of lymph nodes the same as lymphoma?

    • @DiningWithTara
      @DiningWithTara  11 месяцев назад

      There is a difference between primary and secondary cancers. Lymphoma is a broad cancer. You can have cancer in a lymph node that went there due to metastatic spread ❤️
