Do you find that guinea pigs have better access to rescues and higher quality vet care where you are? Where I am in the U.S., quality guinea pig medical care is very rare, there are more pet stores than rescues, and vets don’t specialize in guinea pigs, there really isn’t specific schooling for vets that I know of. I sincerely hope that outside the U.S. (besides the Central and South America where guinea pigs are food items obviously), that there is better care available for them.
I find the state of guinea pig medical care and overall veterinary knowledge inside the U.S. to be deplorable.
