I love this stage with guinea pigs, one of mine had a single boar years ago. When he was around the same age as these ones I used to get him used to handling by stroking, he fell asleep on my chest once.. so adorable.

I used to breed these when I was a kid! I had a mother pig die on me right after giving birth to three babies. I had to raise them and bottle feed the little ones every two hours or so after they were born. I would sleep in the front room with their cage by me and they would wake up and start screeching. It wore me out but it was fun and rewarding.
they're too adorable and sweet for this world how do they get by in the wild? Mice and rats are fast, rabbits are fast I guess they dig burrows and hide?
With my experience, baby guinea pigs are fearless. You can pick them up, cuddle them etc. and they won't run away. I think it's because the prey-animal-fear instinct hasn't kicked in yet.
I remember when I was at Acorn Park when Pirate was born, she was born with only one eye developed, she was definitely a curious little thing and cute too! Pirate loves to explore.
Lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes are great, but you need to also give then lots and lots and lots of hay. Check their claws at least once a week and trim if and when necessary. Don't put them on sawdust, it's bad for their feet; put them on bedding like in the video. Clean the worst of the poo every night with a handbrush, and change the bedding at least once a week. Also, put some woodin their enclosure that they can gnaw on

You never realize just how big they actually get until you compare the baby to the parent in size.
Nope.
Frr
compare a baby guinea pig (new born) to a 2-3 year old guinea pig their small and its so unexpected that will eventually grow into that
I did actually notice that after I got my 2 year old boar a little 3 month old baby 😂
So true.
I love how baby guineapigs have this extremely small butt that makes their heads look even more massive than it is 😂💕
It's really silly and cute
