Oh, those poor darlings. Their Nails are way too long. Imagine trying to walk without discomfort with those very long nails sticking in you as you walk, like bad shoes that rub. So little hay and water, 😢thank God you rescued them Austin. Your a hero in my book 😊😊😊😊

hey, I have a quick question. I work at Petsmart and anytime I see someone buying guinea pig stuff or rabbit stuff. I mentioned your channel to give them an outlet for a little more accurate information. Is there a way I can get like business cards from you? so that way, they know to go to your channel, I’ll make my own lol
For hamsters you should mention Victoria Raechel’s channel! Hamsters are often neglected big time. In a very similar way to guinea pigs. The cages pet stores offer are far far too small and often not deep enough. Her channel is a great resource for hamster owners. (She also has rabbits too)
There’s also discord servers dedicated to Guinea Pig owners and those definitely helped me

The previous owner sounded like they did try, with getting proper food and trying out fleece.
Imagine how amazing pet store cages could be. Like if they did research and proper size and safety
When I got my rescue rabbit Coconut, he was living in that cage. I obviously don’t blame the rescue because it is often at capacity and it is not primarily focused on rabbits and small animals (mostly dogs and cats but one room for exotics). They are doing the best with the space available, I just wish they gave more info to adopters and didn’t allow for clear impulse adoptions. He is 6.6lbs and they had put a hidey house in it (that he couldn’t even comfortably use) so he could barely move 😔. He had been returned to them multiple times for destructive behavior when he is just a high energy rabbit who requires lots of toys and interactive stimulation. I am so glad to have taken him out of that situation. While he is still the most destructive and needy rabbit I have owned, I am proud to say he will never experience a situation like that again and will free roam and live the rest of his life in happiness with his best friend.
I love watching your videos because I had guinea pigs for years but eventually developed an allergy to them and a lot of other small pets 😭😭 I was devastated when suddenly their hair started giving me welts and again when I learned it was the same with rabbits and hamsters. So now I just live vicariously through everyone else’s piggies lol
As someone who has never had Guinness pigs, I currently have 4 hamsters that were all rescued😅 I really love watching your videos anyway and appreciate everything you do for them❤️ I will stay subscribed and enjoy your content

When I first got my guinea pigs over 2 years ago, they came in a pet store cage, but the previous owner brought me a Midwestern that she was intending to upgrade into. They lived in my classroom, but I would take them home over the weekend and holidays, and they would stay in the pet store cage. Never used fleece until months later. I didn't know any better. The more research I did, the more I learned. It just takes time for some owners to get there. I'm now at 5 (3 boys, and 2 girls). They are thriving in custom-made c&c cages. I say all this to drive home the point that some owners, like myself, simply do not know any better at first. I should have researched before taking them, but I didn't. Thank you for the patience and respect you showed the previous owners. Everyone had the piggies' best interest at heart. 🙂
you can tell these ppl did love them but weren't full educated or reached some sites that spared false info

They where at least petted, it breaks my heart when they are so afraid of human contact 💔 because that shows they weren't petted very much ❤

Just received a gunieapig male that has been in a cage his entire life, they have NEVER cleaned his boar/smegma... poor thing.. it was awful.

Thank you for always Beigg respectful and logical towards the past owners. I really appreciate and respect that, and I know must too! And thank you for doing your due diligence as a rescuer and rescuing these animals and finding homes for them- because that in and of itself alone is A LOT to take on- hence why we need people dedicated towards doing just that! You are doing amazing and it should be recognised! 🙌🏼

The quick and clean dry shampoo litterally will only make them smell good, but the fur will feel kind of icky after. I used to use that 2 years ago when I first got Lucy and Savannah, I've clearly since then trashed the thing.

I wish i had found this chanel sooner. I had a guinea pig that needed rehoming a couple years go,she got depressed after her sister passed away then died. I tried to convince my parents to give her away to somone with more pigs, but they just wanted to wait for her to pass.😢

@@Hights_ they did in some things. Pretty healthy weight (no idea how but they were) and healthy fur. Nails? Not good. Cage itself? Not good. The food quality wasn't the best

River looks like a younger version of my 8 year old sow Coconut. They're both beautiful, thank you for taking them in. Do you plan on keeping them or are they eventually going to get adopted out ?

Question, seeing them not know what to do..does it matter that they come from an enclosed cage? Having a roofed cage and now nothing over their heads, does that affect how they acclimate?

I don’t recommend them living together. I did have one of my piggies touch my rabbit once, but that’s it. Rabbits can easily hurt a Guinea pig plus they can spread diseases.

Guinea pigs and rabbits should never have contact with one another as they can pass illnesses to each other. Rabbits can also severely injure a guinea pig because they are so strong.

He said he dosent know if their jumpers and o was thinking out of the cage because my pig scales the cage jumps out starts wheeking and running around the house pooping everywhere 😂

Hey! I have been binge watching your videos lately. I have two male guinea pigs I got in January 2024 from a older lady who was struggling to take care of them. I have done so much research and I am planning to purchase stuff from your store as well. I did want to ask how you go about cleaning the hidey houses that are wood or hay. I have had a couple I had to toss out cause they get so nasty and I change my pigs bedding daily. I am a clean freak and diagnosed OCD so if I could have some tips on keeping those kind of houses and even hay toys clean that would be very helpful

Hey im just wondering something, why did you change their names? Was it because you already had those names in your Guinea Pig family? Im asking because it seemed like no matter WHAT their names were, when you said "I'm changing the names, obviously" it was coming off as if either the names were completely inappropriate or you just didn't give a care in the least? Can you give some clarifications please?
I just didn’t like their names + I always choose the names for every rescue animal that I take in

(in australia so you have inspections by the agency or landlord twice a year and have to get permission first for any living creature to be on site)
May I please ask you why you decided on this rescue? I absolutely agree on the fact that their living situation was way beyond perfect. It could be worse though (and is in reality 😢)?

Youve been probably been asked this dozens of times so i apologize, but would you every rescue other small pets like hamsters, hedgehogs, etc?
At this time, the only small animals I have knowledge of are rabbits and guinea pigs. I wouldn’t feel comfortable rescuing other species of animals until I know about the kind of care that they require. But, maybe in the future!

Google for a guinea pig rescue. That's how I found one in my area to adopt a pair.

Please don’t tell people to put animal cages in a trunk for travel there isn’t enough air in a trunk and if it’s summer time they won’t make it to their new destination also winter time 🙏🏼💛🙏🏼 thank you for rescuing
Some cars have trunks that are connected to the car, like you can reach into the trunk from the back seats.
Sorry, I have an SUV so when I say trunk, I don’t mean the kind that’s completely enclosed 😂
You can take off the parcel shelf on some cars and most cars I'm aware of don't have a fully enclosed boot.
I think Austin has been rescuing guinea pigs long enough to know what he is doing, 🙄🤷♀️
