From the book ""The Triwizard Tournament was first established some seven hundred years ago as a friendly competition between the three largest European schools of wizardry: Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. A champion was selected to represent each school, and the three champions competed in three magical tasks. 32:29 Priori Incantatem: It is a charm that forces a wand to show an echo of the last spell it had performed. The last 4 spells that Voldemort's wand performed were 4 death spells - Harry's parents, his father's residence care taker, and Cedric. When Voldy's and Harry's spells connected, it should have produced a different result, like explosion or something or Harry being killed. But instead it forced a Priori Incantatem. Both wands forced each other to reveal their last few spells. Both the wands talked to each other. If you recall from the first movie when Olivander, the Wand Man, told Harry that Voldy's and Harry's wand share the same core donated by Fawkes, the Phoenix, who was later owned by Dumbledore. So, the wands are twins. They met each other for the first time, so they had a little chat! 😆 Harry's wand: What's up bro? Voldy's wand: Yo bro! Not much! Just on a killing spree! Would you like to meet them?
There is a reason why a teacher doesn't stay for more than a year in the defense against the dark arts class, but you would need to read the books to find out.
@@Parallax-3D someone had a huge argument with multiple people about it being a spoiler when I brought it up in the fifth movie reaction after the viewer asked about that same thing. I was still getting notifications of him arguing with people in that thread three weeks after I made the original comment.
@dabreal82 the funny thing is that I made sure to say that before anything else. That it's a spoiler for the books, but not the movies. The guy ended up ruining his whole argument 3 weeks after the video was uploaded by mentioning that anyone who read my comment would know that it was a spoiler from the beginning before reading any more.
I heard that the actors were told to grow their hair out between movies so it could be styled at the start of filming each movie. The new director for this film didn't know about that, but just liked the longer hair so had them al keep it.
I always chocked it up to some kind of trend at Hogwarts that year. Someone started it, and it caught on from there. I remember one year in school, everyone seemed to decide they needed to dye their hair blonde. Then a couple years later the fad wasn't as popular
No matter how many times I watch it, Cedric’s death, Amos’ grief, as well as the speech that Dumbledore gives in his memory is so tragically impactful. And that’s because not only does Cedric‘s death traumatize Harry, but it gives him the reason as well as his friends to rise up and fight back against Voldemort and the death eaters. Lord Voldemort is played by Ralph Fiennes, Ramses II from Dreamworks The Prince of Egypt. 🪄💛🖤🦡 #RIPCedricDiggory #ProudtobeHufflepuff
They cut the murder of the Riddles prologue for that shitty dragon chase and I can‘t fogrive that. On the other hand, following Alfonso Cuaron as director for Prizoner of Azkaban was tough luck anyway. 😅
to me this movie suffers not only because they cut so much from the books, but because is one of the worst directed imo. the acting is extremely intense when there's no need to, there's hardly a moment to breathe or take in what was said, everything seems important and hasty. great actors like Brendan Gleeson, David Tennant or Ralph Fiennes act extremely over-the-top and i don't think is entirely their fault, i've seen them give amazing performances in other movies/series, but here they feel like caricatures of characters. and _everyone_ acts the same way. i still enjoy Moody a lot tho and i think they all did what they could with what the vision of the director was, but it all feels... rushed. and a lot of the problems i see in this movie were carried over to later films. all in all is still a very entertaining movie and i'm glad you liked it (great reaction!), but imo it's a very poor translation of the book and i honestly have no idea what was happening with the acting and directing here xd
There‘s a sub-plot in the books where they raise Blast-Ended Screwts in Hagrid‘s class over the year and they get put in the labyrinth. Really would‘ve loved seeing them in this movie. As well as the Sphynx.
This is the movie where things start going a bit off from the books. Things are explained a bit better in the books. For example, they talk about how Ron always feels overlooked as the youngest boy child. They also show Harry learning the summoning charm to be able to summon his broom, and the movie doesn't explain it well. There is also no dragon chase all over the grounds but limited to the stadium and using stragety to get the dragon away from the egg. The books also explain ablut Fleur more and why ron ask and she is irresistible. The 2nd challenge they talk more about why he gets 2nd etc but as other people say dumbledore would not have let anyone die. They go into a lot more details on what the reporter does and all the other things going on.
imo it was HP3 where things started to change more noticeably from the books (how could you have not included the Marauders' story? it would've taken you literally 1 minute, Cuarón), but at least it was a much better adaptation and much better directed than this one. but yeah, this book was also bigger so they cut a lot.
@ Part of it is just business decisions and the SOP of the movie industry. If they really wanted to tell the full story, they would have split books 4, 5, and 6 into two movies each, not just book 7. But they figured that wouldn't work, and would look too much like a cash grab. Audiences would get tired of the series if it was 11 movies long. At least, that's what WB thought, and they may have been right. This is why the book is always better than the movie.
They did an incredible job in the 3rd one. The story is all very clear. Idk what you are talking about. From the 4th onwards they just needed to cut a bunch of stuff because the books were super long but imo they chose well. Sure they could have extended some stuff like the quidditch world cup but it wouldnt really have helped the story@@felipeaquitral
It's wild how this movie seems to be the favorite of the first 4 movies for people that haven't read the books, but it's the least liked for people that have read the books, because so much where left out.
Draco sitting in a tree could be a rather clever bi-lingual joke on the name Malfoy, knowing JKR and her love of Latin derivations, I shouldn't be surprised.
I think their hair was So bad in "Prisoner of Azkaban" that the boys probably Insisted they could just have their natural hairstyle in this one...the Last one was the "bad hair" one. 😂
But Voldemort was having Barty Crouch Jr interfere in the tournament to get Harry to win, so we can’t be sure that any “safety measures” were still valid.
Based on the first four movies, the order of my most favorite to least favorite movies is Movie #3, Movie #1, Movie #4, and Movie #2. I love patterns. 4th years are 14 years old as are Harry and his friends. Ron is upset that Harry didn't share how he did it as Ron would have liked the opportunity along with the prize money they never mention in the movie. By Harry saving Cedric and then grabbing the cup together Cedric died. Either thing had Harry not done what he did Cedric would have lived. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished.
*I don't care how many times I see this movie. The ritual to restore Voldemort, and seeing him rise out of the cauldron will always simultaneously send shivers racing up AND down my spine and make me nauseous.* *Trivia:* *They got the movie appearance of Voldemort almost identical to the book. There is one missing detail: in the book, Voldemort is described as having blood-red eyes with a slit-like pupil. It is understandable why they didn't use creature contact lenses on Ralph Fiennes in the movie adaptations since it would eliminate the realness of Voldemort's threatening presence.* *The arachnid the imposter Mad-Eye Moody was demonstrating The 3 Unforgivable Curses on was a tailless whip scorpion.* *As someone who was sorted into Hufflepuff on The Wizarding World website, Cedric Diggory's death hit hard. Especially seeing Amos run onto the quidditch pitch and hearing him shout "That's my son!! That's my boy!!"* *Backstory:* *Neville was traumatized by the Cruciatus Curse's usage because his parents were tortured into insanity with it.*
This was Robert Pattinson's first big role, but it was all part of his master plan. He had to die in Goblet of Fire so that he could play a vampire in the Twilight series on his way to becoming Batman. It was all a clever ploy . . .
