There is an alternate take of the first kiss scene between Han and Leia. It makes Han much less pushy feeling and Leia far more wanting his kiss. Only problem was the kiss "didn't feel like a first kiss" to the director so he went with the take you see. Having seen both I wish the alternate take had been kept.

Jennifer, the height discrepency for Hagrid is done in some shots by camera angles etc. When we can't see his face on longer shots where we see him with the kids he had a body double who was 6 feet 10 inches tall named Martin Bayfield who I think was a former English footballer. Also, sadly, the rest of the Potter movies have a new actor playing Dumbledore, as Richard Harris passed away. R.I.P to a brilliant actor. As to the kids (characters) ages, 1st years come to school at 11 yrs old, so our 3 besties would have been 12 in this 2nd movie. In this movie, the main characters are 12 years old. Basically, when in doubt, you can tell instantly by the ordinal number of each movie, and this is the second movie. Since Hogwarts is basically like a British secondary school, the students start at age 11 and progress from there. So there are seven books, one for each year of school, taking the kids from age 11 through age 17. That's why it was so important to find child actors of roughly that age (Rupert Grint was 12 during the first movie, and the other two were 11 and 10) so they would grow up naturally with the progression of the movies.

Gandalf and other Wizards powers are extremly nerfed actually him and the balrog are the same race. There was a war that sunk a continent due to interference of valor and maiar so they said from now on when they help humanity itd be more subtle so thats why the wizards are old and less powerful

As far as I know, when they started with the franchise there were 9 scripts, but they wanted to do a trilogy and they chose 4, 5 and 6 since they thought they were the best... later due to the success of the saga, they took the rest, adapted them and made the two subsequent trilogies 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 (if I'm mistaken, please, some SW guru correct me)

Fun fact: There is a different Vader here. A more serious imposing Vader. He doesn’t show you his “top”. No yelling etc. Kershner instructed James Earl Jones to use a different timbre, and wanted a tight range. Not quite robotic, but more level and so you never know what he’s gonna do. You can specifically hear it when he says “Did your men deactivate the hyperdrive on the Millennium Falcon”, it actually is almost robotic. Very different that the other two

The thing about Lando is, he really was doing his best to help. Even though, "they arrived right before you did," he made sure Han met Vader armed. His Plan A was, "Han shoots Vader, probably Boba Fett too, then we all make an epic getaway. It's not like the storm troopers will hit any of us."

As far as adding CGI, Empire wasn’t really messed with. They have cleaned up/remastered some shots, but there was really nothing to add frankly. The film is perfect. Irvin Kershner directed the film, and didn’t want George anywhere on set. Wanted to make it his film, and you can tell. The script is tight as a drum, and shot very well. And who spoiled the twists for you? I wanna wring their neck!

Almost no one ever recommends it but I do... you really should watch the film Solo. The good thing about it is you can watch it anytime. It explains it lot about the Millennium Falcon. I loved it. Really loved your reactions and remarks on this one. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.

I do have a little bit o sympathy for those who know the 'he told me you killed him.' scene. I'm glad I got the full impact.

Fans who insist you're supposed to prefer "Empire" are toxic and just ignore them. Every fandom has such petty gatekeepers who'll tell you things like: Dark Knight is the best one, Scrappy Do is bad, etc. "Empire" is not bad but it's only "best" if you were an edgy kid in the 80es.

25:43 -- RE: "Luminous Beings are We, not this crude matter."; A: Full disclosure, I think this is my most favorite line from all of the Star Wars canon. He's not only talking about the Force Ghosts (although that is exactly what he means), but also about the most basic philosophical concepts which define the difference between "Eastern and Western" thought on the planet Earth. Compare Yoda here to Galadriel in The Fellowship of the Ring, they're basically the same character, quite luminous already.

23:45 -- RE: "He had to do it so that he [ie. Luke] could see. I mean, obviously, I know the quote..."; A: Yes, from later in this film. *But* what is the Force really telling Luke here? From the point of view of the Force (and presumably, the Dark Side since Yoda claimed this was a place strong in the Dark Side) that there is *no* difference between Luke and Vader, they are essentially the Same. That's a slightly different message than the line from later in the film, *but* that line nonetheless explains *Why* they should be so similar as far as the Dark Side is concerned.

Either it gets done Right or it doesn't get done at all. Do, or Do Not - there is no Try. The Jedi, for all their wonderful talents and abilities, were not Perfect and part of their imperfection lies in how they initiate and indoctrinate new trainees to become Jedi. The reason they want them young is because it would presumably be easier to train them in how to avoid the Dark Side, since deep seated fears, hurts, and angers from childhood would almost inevitably lead to problems later on when they're grown and have access to what Vader simply calls Power.

19:30 -- RE: Shipping Han and Leia v. Leia and Luke; A: Full disclosure, I'm in the Mystical Head-Canon of the Jedi camp, and the way I see it, the Force is the reason why Luke and Leia were brought together, *AND* at the same time it also brought Han and Leia together. What isn't as obvious is that the Force can have different "reasons" (insofar as it has any Reason at all) for why these people need to be brought together. *This* is why Obi-wan smiles as much as he does in "A New Hope" though because he also sees it from this point of view. Without him or Yoda having done anything at all, the Force itself causes this small group of heroes to group together to fight the Good fight, and they win. So Yeah, why does Leia kiss Luke in ESB? Because that's also the Force, in a way, except.... it *could* be more on the Dark Side of the Force than the Light because she wants to hurt Han, at least a little.

They are the versions that millions flocked to see when "blockbuster" had just become a new term. The widely available "special editions" were doctored using CGI twenty years later. They are not recognized by the The National Film Registry or the Academy because of how significant the changes are. George has tried to erase the original versions from existence but devoted OT fans have since recreated the pure original versions (despecialized). If it were up to George they would be gone forever.

Another great reaction. :) Happy you are enjoying the story. It's hard to emphasize how massive this movie was. The original movie was a blockbuster the likes of which had perhaps never been seen before (other than maybe Gone With the Wind), Then this sequel comes that dazzles even more, and has the shocking Vader revelation. Since Lucas was creating the story himself, note the general audience did not have a pre-knowledge of what would happen from novels or comic books, etc. Even most people making the movie did not know the Vader secret.

This is the best Star Wars movie ever made.
