I bought a 06 xterra brand new .. I hv 150000 miles plus .. I used it as my everyday vehicle for ten years .. been on several DC to Chicago road trips .. been off roading in Talladega Alabama .. I’ve never had one problem aside from the alternator going out a few years back .. and it still runs like new .. damn good truck I must say
SalvadorLosAngeles why give it up .. it does exactly what it’s suppose to do it’s not terrible on gas and it’s reliable .. not to mention how I used to plow through those DC and Chicago snow storms .. I’m keeping mine too .. proper maintenance and tlc these trucks last a very long time
GREAT VIDEO! Amateur videos are sometimes tedious and boring. Yours however was fantastic. You must do more. You convinced me to buy a used Xterra I found for a great price....and I've been driving a Smart car for 2 and a half years!!
You must have been diving a Prius before, because 16/22 is not that bad, and gas mileage is NOT one of the reasons they stopped making it... The real reason was cost to build, if you look at Nissans lineup many cars share traits with other cars, making it cheaper for the to mass produce parts and put them on multiple cars, for example the frontier shares its front end and a multitude of other parts with the frontier, and likewise the Titan with the armada, same with the smaller cars too, that's the problem with the xterra, also the reason why it looks so unique, it has its own front end, read end, and the doors of these don't interchange, trust me on that I fixed a totaled one, and parts were hard to find in some cases.
Love my 06 off road model. 130k going strong. I put Firestone airbags in the rear, now it hauls weight without bottoming out! Lots of power, and strong drivetrain, love the locking rear differential.
I have owned my Xterra 2014 and never go thru all the features it has the way you did. I am doing the Calmini 5" and metal frontal bumper this coming weeks. Great Video Salvador!.

The "A" on the window switch is for "Automatic." That makes the driver's window go all the way down without holding the switch. The tight-downs on the sides of the rear access can be used for a cargo net to keep things from sliding out when the rear hatch is open. Thanks for the detailed review. Your information helped me know my Xterra better. I am just sorry to see it go away.
+SalvadorLosAngeles I know the feeling. When I bought the Xterra, it was to replace a 24-year-old Grand Cherokee that was really showing its age. It is for my daughter, but after just a few minutes in it I fell in love with it. Now I want one. I'll see what I can do on the video. Got to get comfortable with doing that because we are going to be doing videos at school next year.
haha go back in time to some of my earliest videos... I knew nothing and they were horrible! But I'm all about having fun so whatever! Let me know when you make your videos!
Thank you for the review. I have a 1st gen Xterra and only get 16 or 17 at best, but considering it has 302,000 miles on the engine and tranny thats not to bad. There are many more extras for the 2nd gen Xterra then there are for the 1st. The Xterra is a good suv, but not a serious off road vehicle. It is way under powered to get out of jams. I wish they had offered a diesel version for the U.S. market.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment! I now have about 55K miles on my Xterra. And I do go off road (in Sedona, AZ) but it's not treacherous at all, mostly flat dirt with mild grades.
I do appreciate the vehicle, truck based (not a wimpy front wheel drive wanna be) In a couple of months I will be in the market for a new ride, this make, model and year is on my list
Cool video! it makes me want to do one on my 14 pro 4X xterra on all the features that go above what you have in the S..like blue tooth audio, heated seats, locking rear Dana 44, hill descent and a compass.. to name a few ;)
Funny you should say that! I saw an old friend last night, haven't seen him in like 5 years, and he's driving an FJ! So we were actually both admiring each other's vehicles! My Xterra feels great. It's at about 70K miles . So far it's gone to Arizona several times and NorCal and everywhere in between! I've even gone off-road (nothing too crazy). Height and clearance is good for all over Los Angeles too. I love it! Regarding FJ, the only thing is the spare tire at the rear. I personally don't like it because you lose rear clearance. I like that Xterra's spare is tucked away beneath. Also, FJ rear door opens horizontally instead of vertically - hatchback style. I prefer that way. But you can open the rear window on FJ without opening the rear door which it totally cool! So FJ is nice also! Thanks for the comment!
Great review. The 'A' on the window switch is for one touch, or 'automatic' lowering (but not raising which blows). The loops in the trunk are probably for a cargo net to prevent stuff from falling out when you open the door. These things come in manual, I really want one. Shame they discontinued this.

Just amenities like heated seats, dimming rearview mirror and temp gauge and probably all (assuming) a stock GPS which can be helpful but Garmin is best IMO. I've had my Xterra for almost 1.5 years. I bought it at about 25,000 miles and now have about 45,000 miles.
@@jonclarkson5911 Not really, the Xterra is pretty similar to other body-on-frame SUV's like the FJ cruiser or 4Runner. You don't buy these kinds of vehicles for fuel-efficiency, you buy them for the ruggedness and power and ability to haul or tow considerably more than a basic boring unibody SUV.
@@itsdimitriymedvedyev But not everyone needs those. Some folks would be good with cars like Grand Vitara powered with 2.4 inline 4 engine. Sadly, GV also died. It's powered with either 2.5 inline 4 petrol and diesel engine (in two power variations).
Don’t buy the 2005-10 Nissan 4 liter. The radiator leaks coolant into the transmission. Nissan extended the warranty covering this problem to 8 years or 80,000. I started having trouble long before this. But they wouldn’t honor the warranty until coolant was found in the transmission fluid which happened under 80,000 but I was 2 months over the time period. They would not work with me locally (McGavick) or nationally. I really liked the truck so I shelled out the money for a new transmission, radiator and fixings. Now less than 10,000 miles and 2 years coolant in transmission again. Again no help at local or national. Stay away from Nissan. They could care less about you!

Working haha. Missed your old style of videos. I found out they were my ASMR before I knew it existed,
though not sure you know what ASMR is.
Anyway glad to see you're still around and growing.
I need to make more videos. I've been editiing an Ironman video for literally three weeks because I've been so busy! Or lazy? But thanks for watching Silly Goose!

Siento escuchar eso. He tenido el mío durante casi tres años y no he tenido problemas, el kilometraje de 28,000 a 60,000. ¡gracias por el comentario!
