This track. This track, is absolutely phenomenal, easily my favourite Unisuga rock track. The pure, strong emotions in this are godlike, painting a beautiful landscape fraught with danger, yet a strong sense of wanderlust to explore it... The forlornness of the second half, representing the transcience of Adol's adventures (as well as the past of Glia itself), yet still having that sense of determination to push through and truly enjoy the journey... It's just glorious. I honestly can't believe something like this exists. The drums, the acoustic/electric guitar, the piano... Everything here coalesces amazingly. I love the name of this one too, "Desert After Tears". I'm not sure if "tears" are supposed to be like "tears" from someone's face, or like "tears" from a fabric, but either way it works. Both interpretations paint a picture of a land that has undergone much tragedy, with the former emphasising the emotions of those left behind and the latter emphasising the scars of the land itself. An amazing track that even greater with the context of the world itself. This one will stick with me forever. Thank you, Unisuga. 🧎🧎🧎🥲🥲🥲
Thank you for saving my life and my day-to-day with your music king, i will always remember your music in my heart if you decide to fall into obscurity like the other Falcom ex-composers, take a good rest you deserve it

mfw i was introduced to the series in ys seven, then play ys I & II chronicles > ys III > ys VI and then haven't touched any ys game yet until now since too busy with uni orz. now gonna work my ass and get money to buy the rest of the series and trails series
I'd recommend trying another game from the series first. Not that Ys IX is bad, mind you, it's just a lot more continuity-heavy than most other games in the series and it expects you to have at least a decent understanding of what's been going on so far.
For me it's probably Norse Wind, so many emotions in me just build once that track starts playing. Bit of a side note but I wish the opening segment of this song with the acoustic guitar got extended a bit, it's probably my favorite part of a generally awesome song.
Me too! And here was I expecting them to re-release Lost City of Sand, Kefin remake instead of a Ys Nine. Especially since Ys Eight just showed us the final sword for that game! A Game that most of the people cannot play because it's forgotten in a era no one can get a copy and port anymore XD
I dunno, I think they did a good job witch Cold Steel 3 (?)...or did I not notice their ills? I still have no idea why a wonderful team like XSeed was replaced by NISA
The start of this music remembers me another one from YS. Don't know the name though. I'm noticing they're inspiring themselves with some songs form the past, which is gold.
@@spacebruce3332 YES! Holy shit does it sound like Gendarme's. I associate that song strongly with me switching characters as fast as possible for kicks.

Thanks Unisuga for such a masterpiece! Really like the acoustic and electric guitars overlapping, very unique.
We're reaching the limits on how hard a song from an RPG can go

Impeccable masterpiece, as you would expect from the best Falcom composer of their recent history.
