the only cons of Ys game is the music are so good you don't want to finish a dungeon/field trip/boss fight

The Palace is still one of my personnal favorite with a footprint in the wet sand
So glad Teramae's back! First we got that awesome "Gens d'Armes" arrange, now "Cloaca Maxima" and this. Not to mention Nagano is back too. I hope for more of them in this soundtrack!

@@sgadol7666 I mean, they're not back in jdk Band or anything, but Jindo knows them and surely wanted them for his tracks (since Jindo is not a Falcom member himself). One thing is for sure though: no matter members of Falcom or not, the iconic Jindo/Teramae/Nagano trio is at it again, back to the glory days of Ys Origin!

Hope that Ys IX will blow up. I may be new to falcom but I can say that I genuinely want their success. Also I really wonder if we're going to continue in the eldeen lore or the new lore coming from the ancient civilisation even before the eldeen in lacrimosa of dana or maybe it could be something entirely new. Because the game seems to be focused on monsters I wonder where these monsters come from. Also is it just me or Adol feels like the Jesus Christ of the world of Ys, always the chosen one plus his name literally has Christ in it. Anyways I'm a new falcom fan and I hope the community will accept me. Oh and by the way Glessing Way slaps. The OST for this game looks great but I didn't listen to everything because I want to experience through the game.

Ah, so you feel the same way I do. I also prefer to experience the music through playing the game, though there are some songs I just can't resist listening to, like this one. And yes, we should hope for Falcom to be successful especially since I heard they're a low budget company, so we can experience more of Adol's awesome adventures!

Also Castlevania. I can totally hear some Castle Corridor/ Blood tears in there.
It's not just the vibe. As another user more recently pointed it out, 1:28 is straight from the X vs Zero fight in X5 (the first six notes specifically). It's either a crazy coincidence, or a hommage.
@@HitsujiMamoru Hmm. Well if you listen to 'My Lord, Our Brave' from Ys Origin and then 'Vector to the Heavens' from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days you'll hear the exact same leitmotif.
Ys Origin came first, so I do think it's probable that composers do end up coincidentally making the same melodies from time to time.
I'm so ready for this on my Switch!
When Jindo goes sunshine coastline
When a Godlike track isn't enough, and they proceed to produce something like THIS! there are no words, nor are they needed here. The music says it all.
I can't wait for this to come out, I need to know more about the girl with pink hair. And how Adol will ignore her and all the other girls and sail away at the end again.

I would somehow recommend Olha or Lilia to him whenever they help Adol while he was in tight spots though.
Adol would most likely pick Terra because Lado'c is a pirate lord.
My most preferred girl in Ys was Olha only.
Her skill with the bow was enough to impress me nonetheless!

Gives me innocent primeval breaker vibes, a track that got me into series and into nihon falcom games in general, definitely getting the game on pc unless nisa ports it.
NISA didn't do the port of Ys VIII, just the localization, some third-rate porting company ported Ys VIII to the PC (which is now fully fixed thanks to Durante's input as of 17th of January 2020), and they managed to localize ToCS III with the same amount of success as XSEED did, so now that NISA took Falcom games much more seriously, I legit have no reasons to doubt NISA if they keep this up.
Let me say, the game's smooth as silk on pc, I don't have anything too strong and I'm able to play on every setting on max so go for it, the localisation is great too
@@KiteAzure Yeah, no, translation is fucking horrid imo, shows especially when characters speak in japanese if you can understand it. NISA's translation of trails of cold steel 3 was decent, but then it's gone downhill again. Sadly xseed ogs are gone now so there isn't much choice and falcom decided to partner with NISA, oh well, piracy it is. As much as i want to keep supporting falcom games, i don't want to give a single cent to NIS's american branch. They're pretty infamous for censorship too.

@@McCaroni_Sup It's true with the exception of contractors like Jindo and Singa who usually do both live and synth. There is also the JDK BAND (which is not to confuse with the Sound Team jdk which are the ones working on the game's OST) who only do live stuff but they didn't really get to compose for games these past few years but they did participate in some tracks. For example, Tie a Link With Arcus was composed by one of the JDK BAND members and only had live instruments. Yeah but the sound team make their instruments sound way too good, especially Unisuga where his intruments always sound better and better each time a new game releases.
Drums are Superior Drummer VST.

And I figured it out. The part around 5:30 - 5:50 sounds like X vs Zero from Mega Man X5.
The first 6 notes are exactly the same... so that's why it felt familiar... wow... Thanks mate!
Well Sigma's X5 theme is a quasi copy of Dahl's theme. I guess it's a way to make the hommage go full circle

My favorite track of the game, but honestly Ys IX's soundtrack has nothing on VIII's
Yeah I feel that too, they still haven't topped Ys I&II Chronicles, Oath in Felghana, or Origin in the recent games. Not that they're bad, but I still go back and listen to those 3 and parts of Dawn of Ys and Ark of Napishtim more than Celceta, Seven, VIII, and nothing in Monstrum Nox really sticks with me all that hard.
The Super Arrange version of Over Drive is worth a listen if you haven't checked it out yet.
@@BeowulfCav Out of the Ys games, the best OSTs are I and II, OiF, Origin, and VIII imo.
You will find it difficult to convince me that the composer hadn't played/listened to Mega Man X5 prior to composing this piece. It too closely resembles the musical style that game was going for. That is not a bad thing, X5 had a great OST and gave us the single best VG music track to ever come out of Capcom(X vs Zero battle track).

The way the progression is utilized is important here.
I hate how much the lead in is basically a straight up bloody tears rip off when the rest of the song is so good on its own
Is that dungeon the only place this will play? At Chapter 6 at the moment, and I hope we get to hear more of this. That dungeon was underwhelming for what is most likely the best track of the game.
