@@KaitoRyuga That's definitely an opinion on the Final Fantasy stuff, but I'll leave that alone. I don't really remember Oath in Felghana's ending too well, probably because it was kinda basic. The battle type (slash, pierce, and the third one), and the map are probably my two biggest nitpicks. I wanted to use Adol and Dana in my party but if i did i would be at a big disadvantage against certain enemies due to both of them being slash. And the map was not really all the helpful in trying to figure out how to get to certain areas. i played both versions of Ys V (SNES and PlayStation 2). They're not very good to be honest. In fact, the PS2 version of Ys V is my number one least-favourite game in the entire series, haha. (i still beat it anyway just cause I felt like it). Hopefully they make a new version of Ys V that's actually good, just like how Oath in Felghana was an amazing new version of Ys III, compared to Wanderers from Ys which was extremely mediocre.
This song is stuck in head since the very early hours of playing this game. I don't seem to grow tired of this song at all - it's still SO good, even though I listening to it on repeat countless times. That's when you know a song is a true masterpiece.
Same here! I played the free trial for switch online members and fell in love straight away, bought the full game and played it 10+ hours a day for a week lol Incredible game
You know what, this is a banger and makes me want to play more of the game. It is so well composed that it blends into the action on screen almost perfectly so much so that combat almost feels like a rhythm game.
I loved it more then the most recent title they put out for it. Felt really short and small compared to this game. Plus loved the characters in this one way more.
I legit just finished this game. Falcom always has the most banger ost I swear. Really underrated company. I loved their work for the kiseki series and was a bit hesitant to play this game. Im glad I did too just in time for IX.
Damn good. Probably my favourite of the ones I've listened to so far. If anyone's wondering, the translation of the name of this would be something like "Nameless Beach" or "Nameless Coast".
I’m not sure how to put it into a nice title, but a more accurate translation I think would be “unknown name beach/coast”, right? I feel like the Japanese subtly means that it has a name but that it’s unknown, rather than it not having a name. I could be wrong though.
Your explanation is totally correct. For what's worth, the game itself uses "Nameless Coast" for the location. My favorite piece of English from the game would be "Mountain pass with a fine view", lol. Official name in the OST is "Sunshine Coastline".
So accurate :) That's what it does to me, even on a shittier days...this music just lift me up :) Can't wait for the game, 12 more days until preorder comes!
Um, it's not.the older games had great music into think the same band makes the music for the series anymore. The last ys game that had good music was the psp games. The music fell off after the psp games.
Honestly, game kinda starts like that too. Laying half dead on a beach after almost drowning? Ain't no time for that, there's ADVENTURE to be had!!!!!!
Somehow this theme captures the "adventure vibe" perfectly, if that's saying it right. When this theme drops as you start to explore the island, that feeling of hearing it the first time is pure magic.

Sure, let's go ahead and ignore that the curse of Erebonia as we see it in Cold Steel is in essence, ultranationalism and fascism. Not to mention, this doesn't even include Trails through Daybreak, which isn't officially out yet over here in the west. Hopefully they make a new version of Ys V that's actually good, just like how Oath in Felghana was an amazing new version of Ys III, compared to Wanderers from Ys which was extremely mediocre.
i havent felt such a drive when this song hit and youre introduced to the map for the first time. Flawless
This song is stuck in head since the very early hours of playing this game. I don't seem to grow tired of this song at all - it's still SO good, even though I listening to it on repeat countless times. That's when you know a song is a true masterpiece.
I bless Nintendo for selecting THIS game in Augustus 2022 as Game on Trial. Ever since, I bought it and played it! AMAZING OST!
Same here! I played the free trial for switch online members and fell in love straight away, bought the full game and played it 10+ hours a day for a week lol
Incredible game
@@boahancock197 Ah! You're a man/woman/person of culture UwU
他の曲も良いんだけどこれが特に良すぎる
You know what, this is a banger and makes me want to play more of the game. It is so well composed that it blends into the action on screen almost perfectly so much so that combat almost feels like a rhythm game.
軌跡シリーズしかやってこなかった自分にとってイース8は衝撃だったなぁ、ファルコム様々っすわ
Recently just played this game. Can say it is easily one of my favorite games I've played in years.
Another great field song..... Man where is the epic boss themes!! xD
J.D.K rocks as always! :D
Very deserving of 1 million views. What a masterpiece.
❤❤❤
well you got your wish lmao
@@KakoRuraOumijia I commented this when it hit 1 million lol
@@Hamlock_ oh.... I misunderstood then lmao, bruh moment.
This is so fucking amazing. I know that Ys has always had some of the most amazing music in gaming, but this is just on a whole other level.
yeah! its gives me vibes even after 50th time; On a saddes day in life this music would cheer me up to the fulness
So accurate :) That's what it does to me, even on a shittier days...this music just lift me up :) Can't wait for the game, 12 more days until preorder comes!
trails series musics > YS musics although they're composed by the same team or person, but imo, i prefer trails
Um, it's not.the older games had great music into think the same band makes the music for the series anymore. The last ys game that had good music was the psp games. The music fell off after the psp games.
@@redcrimson1028
Oh well... i love the music in all Ys games
AWESOME Falcom, you did it again.
This game will be instant buy from day one.
ほんと神ゲーだったわぁ
I'm buying this OST as soon as Falcom puts it up. I've listened to this one track somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 times already...
"oh wow first level. Music's probably pretty chi-"
**this starts playing**
"IMMA GO ON AN ADVENTURE AND MURDER SOME SHITS!"
Murder a god like its no big deal
I'M SORRY I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF BREAKING CRAB SHELLS AND SQUIRRELS WHILE ADOL IS ROLLING AROUND
@@alexanderkendall4937 After already murdering other gods and wannabe gods and capturing the hearts of goddesses.
Honestly, game kinda starts like that too.
Laying half dead on a beach after almost drowning? Ain't no time for that, there's ADVENTURE to be had!!!!!!
Yeah this song is hype
ngl, the 1st moment the exploration started and this theme kicked in was the best moment.
2 years later after playing this game and I still can't stop listening to this godlike track
Somehow this theme captures the "adventure vibe" perfectly, if that's saying it right. When this theme drops as you start to explore the island, that feeling of hearing it the first time is pure magic.
本当にそう思う。魔法のような曲ですよね!何度も何度もこの曲を聞いてるが、飽きることがない!
@@fp2608 I chose to stay in the first area of the game for a long time. I usually dislike repeatedly defeating the same enemies many times, but this song made it fun. I didn't even need to do that, but I wanted to!
Falcom has recently become my favorite developer of JRPGs. I'm tired of Square-Enix and other companies due to them becoming westernized... Especially because the current form of westernization is particularly bad due to strange modern politics being forced into everything...
@@Vulpas"strange modern politics being forced into everything..." LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Trails, y'know the series that Falcom is most well known for, doesn't feature modern politics. Sure, let's ignore the fact that Crossbell is heavily inspired by Hong Kong and the message and resolution is that it can (and should) be a free country. Sure, let's go ahead and ignore that the curse of Erebonia as we see it in Cold Steel is in essence, ultranationalism and fascism. Not to mention, this doesn't even include Trails through Daybreak, which isn't officially out yet over here in the west. Its message isn't even the slightest bit subtle and practically bashes you over the head with it.
Did you play the games at all or are you actually so incapable of having any semblance of media literacy?
@@WizedexReal
Finished Cold Steel III the other day. Falcom's world building and the themes in these games seriously impressive. You really get immersed into it all. Only wish they dialed down the ridiculous anime tropes.
Just finished the game and got the platinum trophy! (Thankfully I played it after the english relocalization even though I bought it 1st week of release) This track is my favorite of all. It just screams ADVENTURE, which is the main point of Ys. It really helps that this was the first track to play in the Isle of Seiren, really sets the tone of the game. Love ya Falcom! Can't wait for Ys 9! Lol.
Adol Christin how do you get trophies? It’s my first time playing Ys and I managed to get the true ending on my first run thru (not sure if that’s easy to do). This game is so good I wanna start over on a higher difficulty.
Still in shock I've only just learned of Falcom 8 months ago; Kiseki and Ys are easily the best jrpg series I've ever played with the BEST osts aswell.
Fellow relative newcomer here, I can't believe it took me so long to find it too!
Same here started on trails of cold steel and haven't looked back!
I’ve been playing Falcom games for years now, I first played the English translations of the Ys games for Famicom, these games are fucking amazing but I was really disappointed with VIII, it didn’t live up to my standards. But the music is as good as always :)
@@rambact5769 Yeah it sorta went into trashy territory while still being relatively YS like. My favorite is YS origin. I still enjoyed YS VIII though but yeah, the YS series should not be 40 hours long with waifu bait crap.
@@aaoronsathi8833 You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't play the Sky and Crossbell arcs before Cold Steel 3. Personally I find them both to be farrr better than cold steel regardless

this is without a doubt the most beautiful fucking music I have ever heard. I am so glad I got this game.
That bassline though
THAT BASSLINE THOUGH

Ys' music and plot is legit life changing Such a beautiful experience. Glad my bro got me into it.
I just started playing this game and haven't met her yet, but my god Ricotta is cute as heck.
this ost is amazing as hell too. Having played everything in english available from the trails series and hearing all the praise about Y's 8 made me want to try it. Needless to say my expectations are very high
Been a long long time fan of Falcom soundtracks. Much longer than playing any of thier games. Finished Trails in the Sky FC, half way through SC, got several more Falcom games to purchase/play on Steam and just started playing Ys VIII on my switch. I didn't really become an RPG guy until the PS2 era and wish I had played Falcom's games earlier. Never too late to start, though!
I'm playing it too and right now on the final chapter.
Listening to this music feels like the beginning of an adventure. Ys series best note
Her looks is like facing an enemy straight forward without fearing it and just smile, (might be the cause of not knowing the fear of death but) what a great eyes.
You know the game's gonna be good when the STARTING AREA music is a banger
Best BGM on the game. really blends in with the game play and the environment. Basically the BGM fit for Adol
This jam (and Soundtrack as a whole) has become my favorite Ys track. And possibly one of my favorites in all gaming.
Can't wait to play it. (Waiting for steam ver.)
it's 2021. this is still the best level 1 song in gaming

This game reinvigorated my love for games. Recently finished Monstrum Nox. Gonna have to go through all the games now and catch up with this series.
ジョネーJonét the Windows Trilogy (Ark, Oath and Origin are peak YS imo)

Good luck with Ys 5 then if you dont have a ps2, is very hard to get is the only one i havent played by now, the easiest way is getting a snes emulator and playing that version
I have never had the first song in a game make me fall in love with it before this one.
I picked up this game on the switch from gamestop by chance, just looking for some random game that looked promising to hold me over while I waited for another game to come out (either Yoshi's Crafted World or The World Ends With You, cant remember), and damn was I blown away. This game is amazing, and was only $40 for the physical which came with and instruction manual (a rarity nowadays), limited edition trading cards, and a reversible poster of the map and the scenery from the game. Not to mention the box art slip is reversible as well. They went all out for the physical and it was well worth the money. still havent beaten it but I'm always finding myself coming back to it from time to time. so much fun
The CE edition gave you a letter opener in the shape of Adol's endgame sword too

I bought this game randomly but it is so good that is hard to imagine, great story, battle system and this old J-rpg feeling, amazing, worth buying
Stepping out of castaway village for the first time to this banger instantly sold me on this game
Played Ys III when I was young, tried books one and two in my twenties. Playing Ys eight now, on Switch, and am just blown away. So great. Oh, if only they would bring back sequels or reboots of Dragonslayer and Faxanadu. But I will take what I can get, and Ys VIII is very, very good.
How about have them make whatever the fuck they want to, ok?
No need to be such a salty fuck jesus christ.
Don't skip Oath in Felghana, Origin, Ark of Napishtim, Celceta, Seven, and Dawn of Ys on PC-Engine (emulate it, with the fan translation/dub)
I totally bought it cause of curiosity.
Then fell madly in love with the game, charaters, and Dana. I still need to finish it, but not sure i want to. It's so good.
Dana is amazing. Really love her character. An absolute badass girl.
Haven't heard something like this since Blue Water Blue Sky.
