if you are interested in hearing more by this guitarist him and his brother have a small doujin band, Demetori. Very prog-metal stuff, pretty cool. I think that's where his best work is, their album Evil People as the True Object of Salvation is excellent

Really like the different emotion this arrangement gives, as others have said it would be perfect for a nighttime version
I like to think of this arrangement as 'Starlight Shoreline'.
Really like the T-Square reference, the guitar solo is totally something Masahiro Andoh would write. Quite fresh arrangement, sound very different from the usual. Even though the original is unbeatable, this one does not disappoint. Great work from Jindo.
While the original has that constant impact that works in the game, this version having the soft areas would make it GREAT in a movie
Never stop giving us Adventures Adol and Falcom.
After almost a ear of listening to Ys songs, I've realized something:
If the song has a shredfest halfway through, it's probably a Jindo track
I prefer the original overall but the opening in this one hits damn hard
We can still dream thinking about that perfect adventure and game that is YS VIII with this arrangement, and with others like the sublime for Gendarme. I can say it: i really love the Ys games, they give me a lot of strong emotions and these songs are here to remember me that, while the years pass away from a chapter to another, but these emotions are still vivid in me!

In the same vein as Monstrum Spectrum and Desert After Tears in Ys IX Super Ultimate, I actually really like this track now.
More Ys VIII music? Fantastic. I've been listening to Ys VIII's OST non-stop for the last few months.
i listen to it every day in works for past year or so, and its still as awesome as first time heard. Falcom are music magicians
最近プレイしたベストARPG。アクションがかなり面白い！シナリオやゲーム舞台・設定がよくあるRPGと違って面白く新鮮でした。目的に向かって進んで、レベル上げて武器買って…ていうのに少し飽きてたので。
そして音楽！ファルコムは神曲ゲームが多い老舗メーカーとは知ってましたが…イース8は相当いい曲ばかり。昔、メガドラのソーサリアンやって音楽がとても良かった事を思い出します。
ファルコムには過去名作を3DRPGリメイクでどんどんswitchで出して欲しい～！！

This version is awesome. More rhythmically dynamic. I'd want to hear something similar to THIS version live.
I like the EWI taking the melody along with adding the embellishments. It has a very dream like and retro quality, I like how everything sits nicely in the mix.
More breathing room. The solos sections are cool.
This remix kinda old school. Not so bad. Just make me come up with some memories of playing old ys.

Feels like Jindo really wanted to do the iconic Ys field theme a la T-Square/Masahiro Ando, right down to the EWI lead. It's not as effective as I'd like, partly because the EWI sounds too thin and reedy for the resemblance to work. But I appreciate the direction this one takes.
I just listened to this one again for the first time in years, and yes those are my thoughts exactly.
I'll add that the solo is really great and one of the best parts of the track.
I like the original more but this one is also awesome has a different feel. Really nice.

I've been waiting for this forever
This version is more soft and more smooth, I like both version but the original still has more impact.
It's a good arrange, though the original felt more cohesive. The synth that plays the melody doesn't quite capture the feeling that I was enraptured by in the original.
Aewo agreed. The synth is definitely built for a more bolder mix, while the game mix is super light and bubbly. This feels more like Kenny G on speed. Nothing wrong with that, except for the fact that Kenny G is now doing synth leads on soprano sax and all the moms and dads are staring in horror.
Nothing will beat the original. It was so magical and....😭 it'll always be my favorite song.
@@PostmanDan87 It's less Kenny G and more Gran Turismo (or T-Square/Masahiro Ando, to be pedantic). The arrangement could have done with better instrumentation for that style, but it's a bit off-target to compare it with hyper-smooth jazz.
@@DragoonEnRegalia Was there an EWI used in GT tracks? I don't recall, but yeah, The EWI is definitely a T-Square staple - there is a rendition of GT's theme "Moon over the Castle" done by T-Square dubbed "Knight's Song" which features an EWI as its lead instrument instead of a guitar.
@@mpmedia6735 It's technically the other way 'round (MotC is just Knight's Song with the EWI lead swapped for guitar), but yeah. I don't recall GT's score having any EWI leads, just keyboards since I presume Ando couldn't get Masato Honda involved at the time.

Was definitely looking forward to hear this arrangement since the tracklist has been announced. Just proves to me how much talent Jindo has as a composer. This arrangement specifically reminds me of his super arranged version of "Don't be defeated by a friend" (Cold Steel 1). Especially from the guitar solo at 3:22 onwards.
the similarities with don't be defeated with a friend stop at "they both have guitar solos" though
YourVinished I wasn't even referring to the guitar solo. He is using exactly the same background instrumentation as he is in his "Don't be defeated by a Friend" SAV version. It's subtle, but you can definitely hear it.

The EWI can get a little overwhelming at times, but I think Jindo and his crew did a great job with this track.
Definitely not as good as Unisuga's original, but still pretty nice!

Listen carefully and you will find that the electric-feeling instrument actually sounds like sax...🤔 That's quite different to the original game i think.

I feel cursed after listening to the Jazz version...
I literally thought that it's on Smash due to the title.
Not a fan of the synth playing the main melody, felt a bit out of place next to all the other instruments but apart from that, great arrangement!

The original is just better. And not because it's the original. I'm not including the guitar/keyboard solos in this critique. The arrangement is all over the place, interludes where it's not making musical sense, the main synth is clunky. What was the impetus for this track here anyway? This is the first I've heard of "super ultimate".
Mix is too busy, ewi tries too hard to be masato honda.
Honestly, it doesn't try hard enough. Honda on EWI can at least nail vibrato and a thicker texture than this.

Back in the day stories were strong, and characters too, back in Sky saga
(although in Sen III and IV music was utterly butchered too, which was barely the only good thing in the previous two, i grant you that)
