Actually I was wrong. The new $100 was released in early 1996 and each year the next denomination was released. So the $20 came out in 1998, the $10 in 99 and the new $5 in 2000. So ALL the new designed money was out PRIOR to 2001. But don't take my word for it- Google it.

As for the $5 and $10, it actually looks like just one big tower, not two. The $20 was not even placed touching each other in the middle, the $50 still looks like sky, as the Senate building is on it, and you and still see the dome of it, the $100 bill is like the $20, the middle is not touching so I view this as stretching to make it look like two building and I'm not sure what you were getting at with the $1 bill?
