How about opposite day? Play a civ opposite of what they are designed for. For example, if Federick Germany is built for taking out city states and producing Hansas, they would ally city states and focus on diplomacy. And only defend themselves, no domination armies. Another awesome episode, looking forward to the next.
Not sure if you saw Potato's Sweden trick of making open air museums and then placing a city adjacent to them so that the new city has more than 1 open air museum. Then it allows you to place another open air museum in the city from which they were stolen. Would have loved to see you use that tactic! Although with the start and restrictions you had on this game it may have been tough.
Great showcase on how to win without relying on the the crutch of trade. Us PC players often take for granted the quality of life trade mods. Our poor console brethren don't have that luxury resource so it's great to see how to overcome that limitation.
On Russia's Culture drop: I wouldn't be surprised Music Censorship is the culprit. Not only drops it Amenities in every City, it could also have been slotted in place of a card that gave Culture like Raj or Collective Activism
I normally watch your games in awe but I would have played this one differently. With a super-agressive religion to your north (was it 2 or 3 missionaries by the time you got your prophet?) I would either have delayed my religion (not really an option if you want those religious wonders particularly Mt. St. Michel) or gone religious settlements so that your religion can never be destroyed - every new city automatically gets it. Then they can destroy your religion but you resurrect it by building a city, chopping out the holy site that same turn, build the shrine and temple that same turn and voila your apostle to instigate the inquisition that will bring your religion back to all your cities. Those two relic wonders were key to the game. You lacked both money and production, yet most of your cities had lots of water tiles. I would have built harbours as my second building - getting your cities big and strong was in my opinion more important at the early and middle stage than getting all those theatre squares. So yes, I would have run with feed the world for the middle game but switched when I wanted my specific religious bonuses particularly the relics boost. Religion, money, city walls (6 tourism) - and that outdoors museum (8 tourism, not much more!) and all those national parks just come along in their wake. Production + city size = span cities (you needed a lot more0 = 14 tourism minimum in each city before any wonder or work of art.
Oh yeah I played this game for fun and not for optimisation. Being honest? Sweden is so S tier for me I didn't want to play too effectively because every game on the channel I've played with them has ended VERY early! I'm glad with how it played out Also the AI actually managed to launch an effective religious assault on me. I had to stand and applaud, what can I say!
£376 - Ursa Ryan says there are no desert tiles in this Europe map. In fact, there is a single desert tile which exists purely to build the University of Sankore on.
I should have clarified - it was one turn of tourism but just with that one player - my usual tourism was effective x6 / x7 of that amount as it applies to everyone = )
Could you provide a late game save right before rock bands so we can test reviving your religion and how much impact that would have to your tourism in your Discord? I would love a video about that, but you may not have time for it, so I would love to test it anyways.
@@UrsaRyan Now I want to try to get the "Rock God" Achievement. "Have no cities following your religion then convert a city to your religion using a Rock Band unit"
How long does it take you to get the goofy faces for these thumbnails? Sweden lady is adorable btw. I love her when she gets excited about about her new great works.
My comments bout this series: I think you should have waited more faith before founding your religion. Eiffel tower gives more appeal to every tile = more tourism of national Park, for example
Ok so honest question. It's bugged me the whole series. But after Norway took over your religion you had a few cities that didn't have it. Couldn't you make a holy site and revive your religion to utilize reliquaries or at this point it didn't matter anymore?
Some day, I will see Ursa build biosphere. But not today.
I had every intention this game, I promise!

That could be a fun run!
The most Relics I have ever seen in a civ game.
Sweden playing Voidsingers makes this strat even funnier = )
A game with 3 city states that you cannot war or trade with the AI. People like to see Ursa suffer. LOL. You did well sir.

I did! I worried it was too much of an expoit to use so didn't, but I was tempted
I did this today in my game + super focused on culture to unlock open air museum early
pretty sure i will win before my first musician even appears
@@UrsaRyan I've also done this with hockey rinks. Quite fun! 👍

It's a good mod I can't lie. Thanks for watching!

Even threatening the bands might have done me good then!

I'm just a humble chancellor I promise
the only desert in Europe is Tabernas, in Southern Spain
Indeed - alas this map cuts off WAY before that
There’s desert in Poland too, called Pustynia Błędowska. It’s really small tho, so i'm not surprised it wasnt included in this map

Scotland with the beautiful canal. Love to see it.

If you know where it is, feel free to let me know XD
About Rock Bands, not sure if more than doubling your tourism each turn is irrelevant for a quick win...
They are like builders rushing spacing ships.
I should have clarified - it was one turn of tourism but just with that one player - my usual tourism was effective x6 / x7 of that amount as it applies to everyone = )

I'll have to dig out a file, but it would have raised my *relic tourism by about double I think, after theming

Eiffel tower was on the way - I was just too slow with my science!
Excellent run, especially given the evil hobbling imposed by the channel members...

Yes. That one
I would've loved to see what Germany was going to do with those Modern tanks on Polands border 👀
Nothing to see here promise
There may not be a desert in the sense of sand, but there is a snow desert. Maybe a modder should change it?
I just don't like playing Sweden. I've played them maybe twice. I guess I should try again
Do it - so much fun to play! Very satisfying civ
