Next video will be about something that isn't Factorio
And on the off-chance the mod author sees this.
Change the primer thrower inserters. I wanted to used them exclusively to defend my walls but they do about 100x more damage to your walls than the biters because they're allowed to throw way too close to itself. Also things like cannon shells do no damage and explosive cannon shells do half damage because there's no contact damage, only explosive when it's thrown.

Hi! Not the mod dev here! I absolutely will not make the requested change, as I am not the developer of the mod. Have a nice day :)
Hello, DoshDoshington!
I'm pretty pleased with your videos!
Thanx very mutch!
And i still want to see 'all-spagetti' megabase!! :D

In this episode Dosh builds particle accelerators. They work so long as the particles you want to accelerate are aligned into a train shape…

i beat the game once. then i tend to leave either right before chemical science or right after getting utility science.
the base i used was a piece of trash and took 72 hours to get it to where it was. utility science basically didn't exist and the satellite was crafted by hand
@@FDG323 hey quick tip, try to challenge yourself with stuff, like build a nuclear reactor from 0 calculate the ratios by hand and stuff. Or go for other game modes like death world, maybe go for challenge runs like MikeHendriks does. Also mods are your best friends to keep the game fresh, my interest also dies at chemical science, but after I get over that hump the game opens up like a book, at the end of the day, think about something that you find cool and try to make it I guess, and if you don't want to grind use editors extension mod and create a lab world, that way you can blueprint stuff, and add that giga reactor blueprint as a goal to your game for example, anyhow, videos an awesome way to get inspired to do stuff. Also never forget the factory must grow!
Imagine you're on the ground doing maintenance on the furnaces, and you're nearby this behemoth concrete and steel pad in the middle of it all, when suddenly a train horn blares above you and you turn to see an entire locomotive falling out of the sky. Now, you're new to this factory, you were just hired to maintain it while the creator goes on to build bigger factories, so you scream in mortal terror, only to hear it hit the pad and make a deep "bwoing" sound multiple times. You aren't dead, you peek up from the ground where you dropped for cover, only to see the back end of the train flying away in a glorious parabolic arc off to its next rail section. "What the f*ck." you say, as you lay there in shock until the sound of malfunctioning machinery reminds you why you were down there in the first place.

There's something about the juxtaposition of dedicating dozens to hundreds of hours building a factory with the weary "yeah whatever" narration of the process.
The most impressive part of this mod is the "boing" sound they make as they bounce off. There is something very cartoonish about it which I can't help but appreciate.
Sounds very similar to the old Sonic games' bounce sound to me, which is good
@@ConductiveFoam i thought it was the SAME sound XD
Flying trains is one thing, but I broke down laughing every single time I saw the "impact unloader" at work. This base is truly a triumph of goofy engineering

Having such a cartoony base setup explained in such a scientific and mathematical way really does something for me. Keep up the good work!
I always enjoy how dosh doesn't just settle for a small base and always goes way too far. It's what sets him apart.
and yet his comments are always "I am not going for something ambitious here" or "only a small, quick and dirty setup" and yet everything is bigger and better than my chaos spaghetti
Hearing Dosh express joy after building those 80 trains was a treat. Compared to his usual gruelingly complicated playthroughs(which I also love) this was a real treat 😂
Love the slow fade out to the patron list with the crackling of Geiger counters in the back. Definitely a vibe.
There's something really satisfying about the impact unloaders. Also the blueprint workaround was a really good workaround.
And now they are circuit controllable
The fact that this mod just lets you yeet a train full of explosive ornaments at the biters makes it a 10/10 in my book
I've started playing Factorio a month ago and discovered your channel randomly.
Just stopping by to say your channel is really qualitative : long videos with a good balance of content and jokes, good editing, nice narration, subtle music balance.

I juxtaposition between your narration and the chaos from recourses being flung about is perfect. It brings me an odd amount of joy seeing trains fly through the air.
I have been binging all of your videos since discovering your La Mulana video, genuinely solid videos dude. Keep up the good work bro
I just want to say master Dosh that you've single handily reignited my interest in factorio. I remember the first time I started playing I was quite frankly, horrible at it, so I dropped the game. But seeing you go through the starting steps over and over again, and the thought that your first base will be horrible and that's alright, has honestly inspired me. It's starting to sound a bit wankey so I'll just say thanks for the content and for making me care about a game again. Hopefully all of those therapy sessions for all of your challenges help.
hooray!
Something that helps is turning of expansion for biters or just going completely peaceful. it helped me get the hang after i was also inspired to try again. and remember the main bus is your friend and plan out its width beforehand
@@tekbox7909 actually, the thing that helps is to plan out your base beforehand. Don't go in with a vague idea of "yeah i want ~60spm red/green/blue/military for the starter base" find a spm amount that fits the amount of miners you can reasonably place. You shouldn't need to go outposting by blue science, it should be a "my iron's getting low", not "my iron mining is a quarter the mining i need".
Okay, being about to have enough materials being automated in a decent amount of time to launch the first rocket of mine, this mod would unironically solve a few areas with belt spaghetti in my base
Also I am constantly mind blown how people can just, space things correctly to fit other things. Seeing actually good players route red and green science always blows my mind
as soon as you started mentioning using signals i was lost entirely, ive gone through the entire game never using them beating it 1 time without even touching them. and you explain them like its something super simple and i just...brain does not go brr.
The first time you actually sound not "mildly annoyed at things" but super exited about MOAR TRAINS xD
Your videos have gotten me back into factorio, finally broke the 500 hour mark this week, keep up the great videos!
Ah so you finished the starter base, nice ;)

This is by far the best Factorio mod and video I've seen. Kudos to the mod author for coming up with this and implementing it.
And thanks to Dosh for showcasing it in such an entertaining way.

As StrongBad once said: "Now drop a train on 'em!"
Leaping trains and the impact dump wagons is simply mesmerizing to watch.
The images of a brick launching off a trampoline brings back . . . interesting childhood memories.
I've always played (and I'm still playing) vanilla + quality of life mods, because I still have a lot to learn about the game, despite the fact that I'm playing if for years now. Currently I'm going for a megabase for the first time. Because of all that I was never bored or had enough of the base game to pay attention to gameplay altering mods. With that said, just out of curiosity I have watched several videos with some of the more serious mods and I have to say, by far, these were the most creative, interesting and hilarious builds I've ever seen. Not to mention that this mod is not a huge game changer at all. The dynamic change of the throwing distance of the inserters for the science assemblers and the nuclear reactor feed were sparks of a pure genius. And also insane. And what an end! MY GOD, that was fun to watch xD
The videos just keep getting better and better! Enjoyed this one a lot, compared to your other videos this might actually be something I'd want to make myself...
You’re saying you wouldn’t want to build a self driving road vehicle logistics network purely because the RUclips gods said you had to? 😂😂

i waited 10 hours after this came out so i could get in a comfortable position and eat yummy food and watch it at the same time
This has to be one of my favorite videos of yours to date, keep it up man
Honestly I wish this was peak Factorio content in general. I love watching ores fly out onto aptly-placed conveyor belts and trains being sent flying through the sky, sometimes to crash headlong into Biter nests and release a payload of primed explosives. Like it never stops being funny.
Dullardly spits out a whole stack of facts about pollution and biters = great start!
The water feature section was the happiest we've ever seen Dosh, and I completely understand why.
Doshington, you beautiful, magnificent, brilliant, and absolutely unhinged lunatic.

The random aerial shots of trains flying and exploding had me crying
Good work on the videos dude, you’re talking with a lot more inflection now and they’re way more interesting to watch. Also just wanted to throw out that I loved your videos about La Mulana and that tower game so I’m looking forward to you talking more about weird games Ive never heard of
Brilliant as always. I can't get enough of this, you are one of few people who can make laugh, and others are usually professional stand up comedians :D
The only way to improve this mod is to add a coin explosion sound from Sonic the Hedgehog whenever the impact unloaders are hit.
The fact that you talk, laugh, swear and go absolutely crazy while trapping trains with the same voice tone is hilarious.
from what i can tell, the "train launching" mod has some really good stuff in it... Just as long as your not intending to launch trains.
Omg I am literally crying right now. I have been hoping for this video every day since the sushi video.
Precision train strikes.. wonderful string of words.
If you decide to do factorio again i have a suggestion basically 248k with 10x power costs, 2x health for everything (biters, bases, worms, and player structures), powered belts, P-U-M-P-S, rampant and allowed only 100 bots at any time to make it difficult (could also do deathworld if you think you can manage). You could also add a mod that adds harder ammo recipes and try to beat the game without flamethrowers (so you either have to use more iron for ammo or more electricity for lazer turrets, artilery and tanks would work too if you get that far)
Can't wait for him to do giant factories in Dyson Sphere Program :D
I think it will never happen.

All these nuances like trains stopping instantly after landing on a rail are insane! Watching this it seems this mod only works reliably if 1.
