I'm personally doing a personal A-Z challenge, but sorted by leader name and skipping Leader Pass civs (achievements are tied to the older civs). Currently on Cyrus.
Not sure why, but this game has made me want to do a TSL Netherlands. Also, I can hear the secret cry of relief that Norway's religion wasn't warrior monks. 😂
@@UrsaRyan Wasn't there a video on the channel with that a while ago? I think with a few selective country bans it could be less of a mess. I. E go away Germany.
My easiest culture victory was with her. The automatic theming and the extra great people points due to her extra Contest make it just so satisfying to play her.
Good lord Norway must have a killer start on this map. Not only do you have Lysefjord, but I assume you can immediately send boats up to settle multiple cities at Eyjafjallajökull
Interesting challenge! What I find funny is that those trading restrictions are basically how I played before finding out all those abusively good trade deals you can make with the AI! So I can say it’s not that much more difficult, just longer to get the culture victory! Thank you for my daily dose of civ6!
Such an beautiful start. Woods everywhere, multiple rivers, distant mountains a lake, a sea, and a city on a hill, so a view. What's that? "Yields?" All of our menus are used to measure appeal.
£373 - The Swedish queen is remembered as one of the most learned women of the 17th century. She was fond of books, manuscripts, paintings, and sculptures. With her interest in religion, philosophy, mathematics, and alchemy, she attracted many scientists to Stockholm, wanting the city to become the "University of Sankore of the North". The Peace of Westphalia allowed her to establish an academy or university when and wherever she wanted.
Dropped the ball a little in that one. Since it was the last prophet, and you wanted to go for relics, no reason to found religion until you have one, or go to MT. Better to have feed the world until then. AI did their part kkk anyways, love your content❤
The thing about the monastic isolation belief (religious pressure never drops due to lossess in theological combat), is that it doesn't prevent the pressure _increase_ from enemy religious units' victories, so you can still end up with cities being converted to whatever religion you're fighting. For this exact reason, I don't use this belief and instead only fight enemy religious units with the intention of losing if they're far enough away not to add any religious pressure my cities.
I love your content. :-) Even though AoW4 has most of my attention right now, your games are keeping the spice alive for me re: Civ6. On one hand, I want you to keep it up…you seem so genuinely enthusiastic and in adoration of this game. On the other, I want to hear your voice over some AoW4 games, lol. PotatoMcWhiskey has been doing stuff and that’s alright, but your voice is genuinely one of my favorite voices on RUclips. So I want you to cover all of my obsessions. 😂 Anyway, love you mate…keep up the amazing work and thank you so much for providing us plebs with entertainment.
@@UrsaRyan It’s a whole thing unto itself. Even the creators who have a few hundred hours into it are still really just scratching the surface and have admitted they’ve only been able to explore a handful of the possible combos. But when you’re burnt on Civ6 or just need a break, I recommend giving it a go. It’s basically Civ meets Heroes of Might and Magic. But be careful because it could end up consuming you like it has Potato, lol.
Oh Sweden, my home country! Hope that they have a more domination swedish king jn civ 7, like Karl XII, because the was a powerhouse in Europe for a long time. Don't play civ but love to watch! And to see what the civ team does with people of my country's past is fun. And fhey made Kristina exactly what she was. Maybe they could have given her some faith abilities because she abdicated because she was Catholic and Sweden was a protestant country. So she abdicated and moved to Rom and are buried there. Historians believe also that she was either lesbian or asexuell. But either way, she was defently a person of culture both here in Sweden and after she moved to Rome became a important person in that city's cultural life! She is defently a interesting person that is more like I modern day person then a person from the 1626! Fun fact. I live in a city called Östersund, that boarders the lake Storsjön. It is almost located in the middle of Sweden. And its a beautifully place to live.
As far as I know, even if your religion is lost, you can start an inquisition with an apostle of another religion, as long as you haven't started an inquisition. I remember doing this once, you ought to check it out.
@@UrsaRyan hmmm my assumption was that when you start an inquisition, that city gets purged for free. But i guess if it doesn't then you're right, gotta go another method.
You can still resurrect your religion using suzrenity over some city states (vatican city, jerusalem). via trade routes to city states, building enouh settlers in your holy city etc. maybe that should be a future challange?
I can't - unless the AI asks for them on their own terms. I'm accepting trade deals brokered by the AI - it's basically just a way of stopping me from trading on my own terms
Am I wrong or could he have blocked the missionaries from the southern city with the 3 units he had. Feel like that was a big miss play maybe he just wanted feed the world hahahaha
Another funny thing the AI does regarding their agends, is if you play with no barbarians in the game, they will still complain that you're not doing anything about the non-existent barbarian problem if they have the civilized agenda.
It would be really cool if you could figure out how to recover your religion! Like if you forced throw the condemnation of Protestantism unless that would be against the peacful rule?
You've said it's not cheating to trade all that stuff because it's in the base game, but with out that trading mod doing that is the absolute WORST. I never do it because of that.
Your rules regarding trade leaves me with some open questions. Can you purchase strategics/luxuries from the AI? You called out not being able to sell them, and you called out not being allowed to purchase culture stuff, but not purchasing strategics/luxuries. What are you allowed to demand of the AI in peace deals? Just because your dont start a war or take cities, doesnt inherently mean anything about what you can demand for peace.
It's a vague set of rules but I'm basically not allowed to sell anything on my own terms. If the AI comes to me with something it wants to sell, we can bargain. If they ask to buy something, it's on the table. But I can't initiate any trades myself
Ryan you previously said that culture win is more like a fallback strategy. But in many games people capture the early writers with the wildcard or the early theatre squares. Is it easy to switch to a cultural win lets say when medieval or renaissance ends?
Once the A-Z challenge is finished can we do a Z-A challenge?
I'm up for that!
No!
We need achievement runs
