      To be fair, by the 1930s American farmers had basically turned the great plains into a desert. There were severe droughts, little to no trees and shrubs and the soil was so broken up it was basically sand

    7:00 Not quite. More oxygen only affects the size of insects. Humans would be mostly unaffected anatomically, although we would become more hyperactive with all the oxygen. One side effect of all the oxygen would be that forest fires would be way more commonplace.

    Fun fact: Australia used to look like this before colonists showed up and decided to cut all the trees down for grazing land. Only for it to then turn to desert because the root system that was keeping the water from evaporating was gone

    There's some mods on the workshop called "Take your Time" and it multiplies the amount of science and culture needed for each tech and civic by 5x or 4x or 2x etc. If used together it can become really ridiculous (like 100x more expensive). It'd be cool to see how the AI does large scale wars with ancient / classic / medieval era troops since they can't make a b-line to nukes or giant death robots.

    11:05 - 11:12 There's actually a lot of Canada that's forested; Wikipedia says nearly half of the country. Yeah, it's a lot of boreal forests instead of tropical forests, but we know our way around trees.

    You can still check the score for score victory if you set the custom turn limit to a really high amount so you don’t have to worry about the game ending.

    I don't know how much work it would take to set it up, but have you considered doing Pangaea? Not just a world with one large landmass, but the current climates in the right place with the land mashed together. Plus the civs starting in the right place. Just a thought.

    Tornados can only actually form on flat land, they’d dissipate when they hit jungle
    Also as a Canadian, I can verify, we are in a jungle. Or on Mars, it’s really hot during summer (like max 35-40 degrees), and really cold during winter (minimum -20/-30)

      Me a Georgian (the state not the country) who considers 60 degrees f to be really cold looking and minimum -20/-30 nope nopeeeeeee nope no thank nnnnnnnoooooooopppppppppeeeeeee
