- This video features a Lufthansa Boeing 747-400 D-ABVX seen taking off from Runway 26R at the Vancouver International Airport YVR beginning the long flight to the Frankfurt International Airport FRA as Lufthansa Flight 493. Enjoy this close-up view of the Queen of the Skies shot in 4K Resolution on the Panasonic VX870. The 747 is still one of my favorite heavy aircraft, such an iconic plane after all these years.

My first international flight was on a United 747-400 from Washington Dulles to Heathrow in 2001. The 747-400 was a beautiful plane and a great one to fly in as a passenger. Loved it!

It’s terrific that Lufthansa still uses their 747’s as passenger planes and especially this one with my favorite livery. When flying, and whether it’s international or local, that gorgeous livery stands out like an attention getting thumb (at least I have noticed it when flying) and seeing it on their 747 it’s awesome. It never fails to amaze me how such a humongous plane can turn on a dime...thanks for sharing this beautiful video!
