For me it's that unmistakable high pitch ringing of the Pratt and Whitney engines roaring as the 747-400 is running down the runway for takeoff. Just incredible 👍
@@NineballChris it was one of the widest jumbo planes. Lots of comfort, lots of leg room (even in economy) and it always felt like a smooth flight. Even on long distance international flights you never felt turbulence!!!!!!!!! 👍

Same here! Just a beautiful aircraft invention, from taking off and landing, it beautifully takes off and beautifully lands like a gigantic bird, unlike A380 I didn’t find any charm of that aircraft at all! I love the Queen, I’m a 747’s Forever fan!❤❤❤
When I was flying as a flight attendant in the '60s, the new 747s were quickly touted by our pilots as the best aircraft to fly. ”They fly themselves,” they all said. Apparently, that's still true today. They certainly are breathtaking.
Thanks for posting, very sadden that that the production of the 747 has come to an end.Was very blessed as child at 10yrs old to have flown on one!Even to this day, still boggles my mind on how something so massive can get off the ground. Long live Queen of the skies!!!
I grew up near LAX in the 70s and 80s, 747s in and outbound were almost as frequent as this video, sadly not anymore since the next gen wide body twins. Queen of the Skies.
Truly majestic and glorious aircraft. Four engines and multiple safety back ups. Totally unique in power yet grace. I was lucky enough to fly on this beauty several times and every flight was fabulous. Such a thrill. Thank you. ✈️❤
Flew on one when I was 12 years old from Minneapolis to Frankfurt. Loved it even as a 12-year-old. The landings were so smooth that the entire plane cheered and clapped. I also had the opportunity to fly on an A380 from Los Angeles to Bangkok, Thailand a few years ago; another engineering marvel in its own right.
Well, my father worked in KLM, India and I think I am very fortunate to have seen these jumbo jets from KLM and also other airlines, take off and land. But personally, I find no other Airlines as enthralling as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines!!
The way she gracefully leaps into the sky! Oh how I miss her as a passenger aircraft. Thank goodness we still have her for cargo. Long live the Boeing 747- a reminder of times when Boeing cared about passenger safety and didn’t Murder its whistleblowers. 😢💔🙏
Over the years I built a lot of parts for the 747 while I worked for Boeing and after all that time it still amazed me those aircraft can get off the ground. I forget the weight fully loaded but it is amazing it can fly. Much like the Airbus A380 massive hulking aircraft but so graceful in flight...
Boeing 747, the best in history, half a century of service to civilization, changed the history of access to flying, changed the history of passenger movement in the terminals, which forced them to be made larger and more efficient, which made the industry grow of tourism, that is, an airplane that came to change humanity and deserves to be treated with great respect, like the DC-3 or the 707 at the time.
Aussie long hauler, took my first flight on a 747 in the 70's and after many others models since then, will always remember my first love, the "Jumbo" 747.
@@ylass8884 I gotta give the thumbs up on that, flew Tristars in the late 1970s to America flew People's Express and British Airways 747s in the 80s and 90s to America and Caribbean region , Tristars are great but B747s were in a class of their own and then Boeing built triple 7s fantastic aircraft considering they're twinjets, went BA & Air France 777 to Brazil a few times.
If ever a jet had heart and soul 747 is it. The plane went from design to construction in approximately 29 months approximately 50 years ago when computer power was probably in its infancy. That is as relevant as the 747 has been. For as big as it is it is one sleek very beautiful jet. God bless Joe Sutter, I believe that was his name. At least the jet is still flying as a cargo plane. LONG LIVE THE 747.
747 my one and only favorite plane and the one i like the most. beautiful, stylish easily recognisable anytime anywhere. some call it queen of the skies, i prefer to call it the hunchback which is its trademark. watching this plane land and take off is like the 9th wonder of the world.
I was stationed in Europe. I got home to L.A. in '69 and went to L.A. Airport when I saw my first 747 take off. Of course, I wondered if this thing would get off the ground. It did with both power and grace. Each generation just gets better.
Appreciate this compilation. Me and my family haven't travel yet since this pandemic happened. We usually go on out of town or out of the country. My 3 yrs old son wants to watch this all over and over again..
I live not too far from San Francisco and I sure miss the days when United used mostly 747s for their flights to Asia, Europe, and Australia. Ten years ago, plane-spotting at SFO was a great treat with all the 747s, the 777-300s, three to four A380s a day, and KLM still flying the MD-11 there.
Grace, power, and beauty! No one can ever, ever take that away from these stunning creations of mankind. The 747 will always be imbedded in my heart and millions of others like me, as the greatest plane to ever to ever ride the sky. My uncle flew these beautiful birds during his piloting career with United Airlines; l'm so jealous!
I flew on Northwest Orient and then again when it became Delta airlines. Flew on the 747-400 twice to Tokyo Japan and also to the Philippines. Best plane I've ever flown on. 👍
I was lucky enough to have traveled on British airways, klm, and virgin 747s while growing up in Malawi Africa. A lot of hours spent in these amazing machines. California to the uk, uk to South Africa, to east Africa. Insane to look back on.
The Airbus A380 may have been the largest civilian plane built but the 747 is a legendary plane so steeped in our psyche, songs have been written about it.
I grew up with commercial airplanes! My dad worked from 1952 to 1983 for American Airlines and I flew a lot of them. Loved flying!! My brother retired from American Airlines about 2 years ago. 🛩✈ Wonderful memories!! 🤗

Your skill with the camera is such that you could easily branch out and film that wretched species, the human, as they interact. But civil aviation is a much more pleasant species to deal with. The first shot of the KLM 747 departing is brilliant. Thanks!

If there is one airplane that felt like you were safely inside the womb of a giant, comfortable bird, it is the 747. The operative word is "safely inside". No matter what the weather,- rain, gusts, CAT, the airplane just feels "safe" from TO to landing. Must confess I havent flown the 380, but still, thats my take on the plane. Yes its no longer the largest or even the fastest (380 beats it by a hair). But it just feels safe, sure and secure. In fact I somehow loved the B747-200 more than the other variants. It felt even more solid in the air. RIP Joe Sutter. Somebody should give an honorary posthumous Nobel equivalent for one of the most iconic technological marvels he and his team created. In my mind, another plane that comes close in that solid feel is the MD80.
I used to hate flying so I was not too happy waiting to board a plane .... that is until I saw tht the plane I was going to be on was a 747. I positively loved the take off spool and the feather like spoilers while landing.....its just a sight for sore eyes
A festival of power and glory. The 747 has a mystique held by no other aircraft.
Will always agree with that!💯❤🔥
Crewed on the 747 in the 80s. Such a majestic proud boss of the skies. Passenger counts up to 520 plus 20 crew, lots of souls and then cargo to boot.
Great tribute to the Queen. Anybody else a little nostalgic that we no longer see these giants sporting the Pan Am or TWA livery?
