  • Had an excellent comment that asked if we can raise certain parts of the 2d(jpeg/png) to 3d conversion model(SVG). Of course we can! This goes through an entire workflow of a couple of ways to do it.

    Hi, awsome! really appreciate you putting the video together to answer my question! It worked a treat however, I have 38 filament changes over 2 colours ha ha......so I'll work on reducing these! Many thanks from the UK 🙂

      Glad I could be of assistance. Your question was perfect for a video. It comes with a lot of manually tweaking though. Thank you again for your question and comment. Cheers from your neighbors across the pond. 😁

      @ashleys3dprintshop I bought a P1S so probably some accessories for it like a poop chute, AMS stand and desiccant reusable desiccant trays!

    Instead of lowering the red and then go in and lower all the tiny red pieces, why not just raise the white instead ? Then you could make the whole thing thinner afterwards ?

    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  9 месяцев назад

      Yes you are absolutely correct. I took the long way around so people get the concept. That white horse logo was all one piece so there were only so many ways to show now to manipulate the parts. That's why the 2nd half was "reversed" from lowering the base to raising the black areas. Good catch. Thank you for commenting. 😁

    As always just to the point and practical, thank you Ashley. Just a quick one if i may. When you place the model on the plate it says the the edges are non manifold, do you repair them or just leave it. Thank you once again.

    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  Год назад

      Hello. You can handle the "non manifold" error one of 2 ways.
      You can run the repair. It will try to fix the parts of the model that triggered the error. If you do a repair *do them in the very beginning* otherwise it will undo any painting you have performed. I have seen in some places it messes with the model in a weird way.
      I typically ignore them unless they look "funky" or full of errors. I could have run it at 6:30 but it would have reversed the painting. Not the end of the world with only 2 colors.
      In the slice phase I look over the model and correct from there. You can go layer by layer for a spot check .

    I’m sure you r explained this in a video that I haven’t watched yet, but what’s the difference between global process and objects process?

    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hello Thanks for watching and asking about the different process options. The explanation is scattered in my other videos so I just made a quick one to answer your question directly.

      @ashleys3dprintshop  7 месяцев назад

      The slicer (Bambu studio) is free and the website(vectorizer) is currently free. They have a disclaimer about going out of beta, and charging, but it has been like this for a long while.

      Yeah... My older catalog was a struggle. I had a subpar microphone. It was hit or miss on the "loudness" depending on if you listened on phone/tv or computer.
