Awesome and quick and straight to the point.... for quick results but also not rigid!!! liked and saved! Now i wonder see if you have a similar video for making a similar line art drawing glow lol
Thank you mam. In pandemic my every biology classes are doing in zoom. So the Sir said to me to submit the diagram of a plant life cycle. So I drew in black pen. After I thought I want to make this better and Searched in youtube how to turn black line into colourful line. Then anyone doesn't published a single video except you for fulfill my expectations. This is the bet solution to make my diagram better. Thank you mam keep it up...☺☺☺
Thank you! This might be a silly question - but I am wondering how I can export this with a transparent background. I already did this process with a transparent background image and it worked well (e.g. colour fill layer with the mode I needed, the transparent lineart image layer, then a white layer to see it). But I can't find a way to merge/expand.... the colour with the image, so I can use it the way I want in another document, keeping the transparency. I am coming up short with any solutions. If you have any suggestions, I would be truly grateful.
Not a silly question at all. If I’m understanding you correctly what you could do is to turn off the white fill layer that you’re using just to check that everything is working. Then save the image as a PNG file. PNG files have transparency so, in the process of saving to PNG, the image will be flattened for you with the transparency kept. I think it’s just a case of choosing the correct export file format and you should be fine. Let me know if you still have problems.
thank you so much, you are a true legitimate life saver. i discovered your channel through i think it was, changing the thickness/thiness of lines. Anyways, I found out that adding a new hue/saturation layer and tweaking the settings and then merging it down onto the line layer also works just fine.
Can i know how to change different part outline color in 1 illustration? example top and pants are different outline colors can u teach in the video > thx
You can try this video - it shows how I remove backgrounds from line art images - not so much a sketchy image but certainly one with more defined lines: ruclips.net/video/oQCf1RgXnzg/видео.html
I liked your video very much. Thank you! Do you have any tips for replacing color when you have multiple layers? This works for me with one layer, but it also affects my other layers. I tried moving them so they were not affected, but then they covered the image entirely.
Chyntia, to save it as a png with a transparent background you have to remove the white area around the image. That's an entirely different process. If I am to make a video for you showing you how to do that - do you want it to be transparent inside the flower? ie do you want just background transparent or everything except the lines to be transparent. Let me know and I'll look at doing a video for you.
Helen Bradley I would want for everything but the lines to be transparent. I have a drawing that’s all black. And wanted to change the cover of its lines and keep the lines but removing the white background on it
Can I please please please know that how you made those pencil lines filled? I mean when I scan, my pencil lines in photoshop looks sparsed. As a result when I use paint bucket,it paint the whole screen. Please help >-
You need to draw things more like the icecream truck and less like the flower if you expect to be able to fill them with the paint bucket tool. And you have to close all your lines so that, when you 'flood' an area with color it doesn't flow out to other areas. This video shows how: ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&video_id=eK4Lj9ourYw Now, there is also a different way to color a design which would be much better than using the Paint Bucket tool - Here's a video which will help: ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&video_id=9_nZBfh-fsA I think you'll find it a much better approach. Let me know how you go?
Not in the same way. These two programs are very different and the tools you use for coloring in Photoshop are different to those you'd use in Illustrator. Typically too, in Illustrator you'd be working with vector images and not bitmap images. I hope this helps? Thank you for stopping by my channel.

How if u want change color for part of line art
This works very well for me and my patterns, but how do I change the background layer if I have used this technique for the colored lines? Thank you.
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
Thank you very, very much ♥
It is a pleasure Amélie
Thank you

How do you merge the layers after your done changing the color???
You can merge layers by selecting the topmost layer and choose Layer > Merge Layers
Let me know if you still have issues.
@@HelenBradley I had an issue when trying this on multiple layers. The rest of the layers would get discarded after I did layer > flatten image.
thank you so much!!!!!

Check the box that says Use the previous layer to create clipping mask when applying the fill layer
thanks

I dont even know what blend mode is... I wish you would have explained that a bit more...
