If you're looking to add a fresh new look to your business, changing the color of your logos is a great place to start. The only trouble is that it's not immediately obvious how you can do this, without starting from scratch. Luckily with the help of Photoshop, you can quickly change the color of your logo using one of two methods. The first method we will discuss is the color overlay method where you apply a totally solid color over top of the shape of your logo. This is by far the fastest way to change the color but only works for PNG logos. If you're working with a JPEG logo that has a background, then you'll need to resort to example 2 where we use a special selection method and a hue saturation adjustment layer to bring it all together.

I have wasted about an hour trying to figure this out for a black icon. Some of these videos on YT just talk for 5 minutes before they get into the method and it's not even what I need! You quickly went over the problem and explained the solution at a pace that was easy to follow. Looking forward to searching you up for more tutorials! #subbed
Brendan, your videos are great. You explain everything so well. You tell “why” do something, not just do it. “Using this option does this “. I really look forward to your videos. Keep it up!👍
This video was straight forward and very easy to follow. Looking forward to checking out some of your other tutorials.
Excellent, thank you. I just needed that push in the right direction with the colour range selector.
Well done Brendan. You made my day! Thank you so much and Greetings from Australia!
Yes! Thank you x10000 after countless methods that only caused frustration with the transparency!

This man here^^^ Is a freaking hero! Thanks so much man
Great explanation! Worked as instructed. Thanks!
Thanks! The color overlay works well but I'm trying to make a black jpg graphic into a white on transparent background. When I use the second method and change the color to white then export as a png with transparency, I just get a white box. Could you add information about creating white graphics on transparent backgrounds and also add info about how you recommend exporting the resulting graphic for use in other compositions?

I am having issues selecting my image properly to make a square show around my image in the layers box like shown in your video and it's preventing me from seeing "Select > Color Range" . What am I doing wrong?
Awesome. Thanks buddy
Thank you so much!

Amazing video I really like it

LIFE SAVER THANKSSSSSS
Nice video, thanks a lot.
Thanks for this tutorial
Thank you for the video. It did not work for me though. It is not a vector? single layer with no background and when I used the second method it does not isolate the logo from the plain color background. Any ideas from other videos you have done?
New Subscriber here. I tried another way, but for some reason it gave me a weird shade. Thank you for showing different options.
What if the transparent logo has two color..... You only changed it to a single color.

Glad you think so!
When I save as a new file then reopen and copy onto an image it keeps coming up in it's original colour form. Not as a black or white transparent logo as I am trying to create. What am I doing wrong? Cheers Ben
What if you wanted to use multiple colors??
what if the logo has a gradient to it? Its not one solid color.
👍👍👍👍
Alot of videos are there but few ones are useful your one in one of them
I really enjoyed your video and you explained things in great detail. The only thing I would suggest is to explain things much slower. You were going too quick and I was constantly pausing and going back and forth. Other than that, I thought this video was incredibly helpful!
hahahahahha hi brendan thank you lol
Can you pls make a video on how to make a logo with Photoshop?
Well since a logo is so subjective it’s hard to give tips for making any kind of logo since it would require different steps depending on the shape. I’ll try to think of something that would be fitting as a general purpose tutorial 🤔
@@BrendanWilliamsTutorials ok thanks
ok I ll send you my logo and you do it. Those examples are too simple for my usecase.
How to increase width of an alphabet and also width of a word
Bro help me plz 😢😢😢
I’m having a hard time with this when I try to color it doesn’t do anything I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong
Is the logo properly selected? If the logo on a transparent background? Is the logo layer highlighted in the layers panel? Those are a few simple things that might be going wrong!
it really didnt help. it wouldnt work for me. thanks tho
Where have you been all my life🥲
Thank you!
Thanks
