I love that you ladies are on youtube now, I can watch part of the pod while working and then listen to the rest while driving around
went from lil baseball head on HOTD to manic pixie dream girl on acolyte…relentless iconic nicknames pls keep it up
I love that I can see you both on RUclips. The interstitial graphics are so fun. Bring on a 2 hour deep dive for a show I'm not even watching! Mal crooning "Acolyte" is definitely an ear worm.
Love the graphics they are the best I've seen on all The Ringer channels!!! I do have to say I feel like they stuck Mal and Jo in a small side studio because of House of R podcast run times... they don't want to lose the main studio for that long 🤣
agreed. I also noticed (when listening to the HotD S2E1 Deep Dive as a podcast) the sound quality, while good compared to most podcasts, is below normal Ringer quality. Like they are a bit tinny. Same sound issue here.
Aw yay I like that we can see each other here in the comments and view counts - what's up Bad Babies?
And what a relief to be on the internet talking about Star Wars with nary a homophobic meltdown in sight 🥰
Can't wait to watch these
Mae also doesn’t recite her “unfinished business” spiel to Sol…. granted she was not expecting Sol compared to Torbin and Indara, but clocked that maybe Sol isn’t on her list.
The whole "kill without a weapon" is going to end up meaning "use the force how the witches used it" since the thread isn't a "weapon you wield". Mae will mind control one of the main characters and try to make them kill themselves or have them kill one of the other main characters. But she'll get talked down by Osha, be redeemed, Venom face will get killed, and everyone will think its all over with. But we'll see a glimpse of the real master aka Plaggy boy possibly. Maybe he'll even be looking into a young Palpatine by the end. The dark side can extend life spans so maybe he's older than he looks in Phantom Menace.
I'm loving June. The Acolyte, HotD, and in four days, The Bear S3. Thank you Ringer network for discussing shows I'm tuned in. Love The Watch pod with Chris Ryan Andy Greenwald. May I ask why HotD has fallen out of flavor for Andy? Was it because he has daughter(s) and the final grisly scene of S2 premier turned him off?
I thought we were going to get a real look into the dark side with this show. The relationship between a Sith lord and his/her acolyte. But here we are, and it seems that the ‘acolyte’ is already out on being an acolyte 🤬
Idk, it seems like the acolyte's master might have trapped her
Maybe Bazil and PIP should have a buddy cop movie. "They Always Get Their Man!"
Mae saying "I can't believe my sister's Jedi scum," was her (paper thin) attempt to cover for her interest in and care for her (not dead) twin "What was she like when you spoke to her?" I thought was a sweet moment for Mae actually.
The rumbling was Qimir dropping his giant 'regular guy' bag
25:30 Omg, "Sol Patrol"
Mae’s decision to change her plan did feel a bit rushed. Like scene was cut.
How do you kill a Jedi without a weapon? Turn them to the Dark Side. 👀
By turning them against themselves.
Who cares at this point
I have a feeling Osha and Mae's powers are a lot more interconnected than anyone realizes. Maybe even on a psychological level - that would (possibly) explain Mae's heel turn on rejecting her Master's plan. Idk my suspicion is that the Sith intends to convert Osha to the Dark Side (best way to kill a Jedi without a weapon) and learning the truth of what happened to her coven will set that off.
Why give any airtime to Charles’s indara theory?! She’s dead.
Yo yo yo
The Acolyte>>>Andor
Mae doesn’t kill the witnesses in episode one softened at seeing Osha and Sol tells us upon hearing Osha is alive. She just got new information a day or two ago and has new motivation. No longer revenge but hope
Writer for this episode said they split it because the next episode is the longest one
Let's call this show what it is. CW Star Wars. With 3x the budget and a lot less fun.
What did everyone expect from a Harvey Winestein acolyte writing and producing a Star Wars show? After watching a few of her interviews I kinda get why this show had no interest in telling a Star Wars story and was only a show given to her by that Sith, Kennedy, as a vehicle to explore her fantasies. The fact that this what she came up with on that budget while the House of the Dragon, Fallout and The Boys have similar budgets and looks and feel so are professionally done tells you what's wrong with Kennedy's Star Wars franchise.
@@joesephovide2942Y’all love to throw that Harvey Weinstein BS out there huh?
I hope y’all have this same energy for Tarantino, Kevin Smith, and Damon & Affleck. Something tells me you won’t.
It’s the best live action Star Wars show besides Mandolorian
that's a lot of words to say this show is just really bad
We have GOT to start getting more than 8 30-minute(ish) episodes. Unfortunately the writing/dialogue is at a point in this show where I still don’t have a ton of faith it would be a massive improvement, but the short seasons are certainly not doing them any favors. Mae switching sides is fine and can be interesting if done right, but just out of nowhere… Such a cool concept of a show being executed so poorly (so far)
Ladies, the show is kind of bad. Not terrible, the criticism of the show online is terrible, but the show is a bit of a mess. We can admit that to ourselves.
Here's the problem. I'm watching a STAR WARS show. I need exciting stuff to happen. It's like they forgot it's a tv show, not a movie. You can't take 22 minutes and nothing happen until the last minute and it's a cliff hanger. Thats not how the medium of tv works.
That would be a personal preference. I personally don’t need action to make good tv. Isn’t it great to have options?
@@ATLCarGuyRy You don't need action but you do at least need good dialogue and a coherent plot.
It’s bad enough that this show is trash. But the fact that you can’t criticize this show without being called a racist or a bigot is insane. I’m not even white and this show is garbage
@@duccly5050 The dialogue is eh, but the plot is coherent if you let the story play out. We don't know the characters' motivations enough to call a plot like this bad yet
@@duccly5050 when was Star Wars dialogue ever good? 😂 (except Andor of course). Acolyte’s story has been intriguing so far. Thats what matters for me
I feel Acolyte is gonna pay off, but if it doesn't, sigh, is gonna be difficult i ever pick up another starwars anything.
I think Star Wars TV needs to go on a bit of hiatus like marvel did after secret invasion
people are upset that legends states ki adi mundi's age but that information is irrelevant 🤣🤣
clowns: "h0w iS hE aLiVe" quotes non-canon material as their source 🤡🤡🤡🤡
im only clicking here to give ya'll the engagement and support the new channel. this show is so bad, you guys.
how the hell are you mining 2 hours of podcasting out of this while pushing back the Paul of Fame episode for months on end? weird choices!
Wish yall were doing boys deep dives instead of acolyte. I thought this show was getting too much hate, then getting a new episode fresh off a boys and hotd weekend was a rough look
The Midnight Boys do The Boys.
Embarrassing stuff, especially from Mallory. The way she tries to interpret horrid writing as some future lore that is yet to come is just awful.
this starwars show is not working for me.😠
