You can tell in his acting just how much fun Tom-Glynn Carney is having playing Aegon, and it really translates (for me anyway) into the audience having a good time watching him 👏👏
I don't know, it fell short in a few ways for me. Though was still an enjoyable episode. The Blood and Cheese was a pale imitation of the books with a few nonsensical things.
They didn't need the Sewer. They didn't need to show Daemon meeting the assassins. In fact all they needed was to show the assassin working in the castle and be a popular figure there, so popular people won't suspect any danger from him. Then you spend the rest of the time saved in Dialogs expressing the phylosophy of the politics at that time. We needed a long witty scene between Strong and Otto. Also the scene between Aemon and Cristen should have been longer and cover more topics. Those are what makes a show great .
@@goddyfame3424 this is already an exposition heavy show with all the table talk. Following them through the sewers and expecting them to find aemond but having something different happen is much better than "flashback exposition".
@@nesir8 I didn't ask for flashback exposition. I think they didn't need to show them being contracted or making their way into the castle. All they needed to make that scene complex is to show that the rat catcher had access to every part of the castle and a welcomed presence. Then when the opportunity to execute their plan arrives, they execute it. The question that should be asked by the audience is who gave the order and why. Those questions shouldn't be answered before the event takes place, it reduces the complexity of a scene. Even Aemon could be a suspect to the audience if the scene of Daemon contracting the assassins didn't exist.
Whaaat. We see Rhaenyra grieving, Rhaenys giving 0 f*cks about Daemon, Alicent getting pleased by Criston's tongue and d, Otto manoeuvering to control his grandchildren, the murder of Jaehaerys, etc. I don't think it was THAT expository. A lot of things happened. Not every episode needs to be a huge battle.
@@Δ-Δ-Δ-Δmost of the dialogue itself was very expository IMO. Like blatantly telling us the thoughts of the characters and what to expect...other than Daemon saying a son for a son offscreen...but yea anyway it was a fine episode, decent nothing spectacular but not as hard to take in some of the new things as I'd expected.
The logistical factors behind the making of a show of this scale are massive. That sewer set alone was a huge undertaking. This is a well oiled machine given the work loads of the cast and crew.
I had no idea so much details and actual plans and art went into the sets I will forever look into the show in more awe than before. Absolutely amazing
I love these behind the scenes videos that don't just have the actors talk but the artists behind the props and sets and everything that made the show possible.
All those extra decorations just help with making things feel more real even if you don’t notice consciously. Plus we could see some of these details in a future episode.
Props to the crew for such hard work! And to HBO for showing the creative work behind all the magic! My favourite thing is to watch how these masterminds work behind the camera 🙌🏻
I really love how the show's promo is managed. We have short funny interviews with the cast, longer and deeper ones, trailers, of course, but also these detailed mini documentaries about all of the internal work that needs to be done for each episode? That's so fascinating, and it gives credits where credits are due, so thanks! 🎉
I straight up thought the sewer was a real sewer in like Spain or Italy or something. Great job. I'm studying acting right now and I'm like that's the kind of films and series I would want to be on. Real sets and on location sets. This would be super cool to get on this show.

The comment the actress made about being in the second year of hogwarts and having a better wand, I think she might be reading Harry Potter because she was cast in the tv show (that is going to be in hbo) I think she might be professor mcgonagall! Yes please she could do it so well!

Splinter units are the best, some producer comes up and says "come with me", you 6 other crew members and a cast member get in a shuttle with minimal gear, and you shoot something half a mile down the road, the natural lighting just right for the next 20 minutes or so, and back to your day.
