  • AMSOIL Signature Series synthetic motor oils are priced more per quart than lesser oils, but they cost significantly less to use thanks to extended drain intervals and superior vehicle protection.

    I don't know why everybody is afraid of a 25,000 mile oil change? I either Run Mobil 1 annual and go 20,000 miles but I prefer Amsoil Signature Series when I can get it hard to get locally and I go 25k I have Blackstone laboratory oil samples to back it up I'm not damaging my Motor 200k Plus and still going the days of 3 to 5K oil changes are over quit wasting oil and your time! Amsoil is the best oil on the market if you can't find it second best is mobile 1!

    Totally agree here!! Signature is all I run in my factory built engines. Dominator in my race engines.

    I just changed to Amsoil Signature Series 0-30w on my insignia 2 turbo
    What I can say is wow ....... this oil really Make lots of different the engine bounced to have much more better respond n cutting valve sound n fuel economy ....from Spore

    But most people run their cars in severe service conditions. Amsoil does not reccomend going over 15,000 miles for severe service. I will still run it though because that still helps balance out the cost and Amsoil can do things for your car other oils simply cannot do.

    I recommend changing signature series ever 18,000 to 24,000 km
    I find it starts to lose performance around there

  • @1AndreasKendu

    Remember people that most of us drive under “severe driving” conditions. So mind the interval accordingly 😎👍

    • @tonychambers9228
      @tonychambers9228 3 года назад +1

      People dont think about this. I live in nyc and driving here is considered severe driving. You put a ton of wear on the oil. Thats why even with a synthetic may it be mobil 1 or amsoil it depends on how you drive and where. sig series amsoil 25k is only for highway miles! I wouldnt put more then 10k on sig series oil. I beleive on there amsoil page it says something about 300-400 hours of driving on the oil before it should be changed. Also the oil might be good but when you get carbon and fuel contaminents in the oil best to change the oil more often. Even new cars burn and have fuel blow by. Good oil but I never trust most of the mile claims. Oil is cheap engine rebuild is expensive.

    Hi Dan, from what i have learned the only motor oil Grade 4 PAO that Amsoil has is the Signature Series?

  • @ashrafjaafar3614

    Why the 10w30 ATM signature series is low in viscosity index ( 147) is that mean it will effect a lot by temperature than 5w30 ASL ?. Thanks in advance

    • @thelubepage
      @thelubepage  4 года назад

      The ATM uses very little VI since it can test to meet the 10W and the 30 viscosity without any VI. This means the oil uses a very uniform PAO molecule resulting in a very
      thermally stable basestock. There is no shear-back since their is so little VI used in the formula. The 147 is very close to the natural Viscosity Index of the PAO basestock. Oils using VI improvers to push very high VI can be subject to shear back especially with fuel contamination. Shear back is caused by severe stress in turbo chargers so the fewer the better. So there is a happy medium where enhancing the VI vs the Amount of VI improvers used produces maximum benefit. This sweet spot can vary with different formulations so significant testing needs to be done to determine the best results.

    I was gonna go with signature series, which i have used before. Now I go with the XL boosted. I can't drive more than 11000 miles a year. And from the EA Filter video, sounds like Dan is stern on the recommendation that if the amsoil products says it covers up to 1 year...it covers up to 1 year, if you go further and something goes wrong thats on you. The Signature Series says 25000 miles or 1 year, which ever comes first. It might be the right oil if I drive across country multiple times within one year.

    Kay Jay, how did you come to such an erroneous conclusion? The warranty requires you to adhere to either the OEM rec's or Amsoil rec's. This means that where Amsoil differs from the OEM in their rec's for drain intervals the Amsoil warranty is in effect.

    Just do the math- A 5 quart oil change with 5,000 mile oil change intervals and a $2.97 oil filter is more expensive than one 25,000 oil change with 5 quarts of Amsoil Signature 5w30 oil--- (Average cost of $9.175 per quart and a $17.10 Amsoil filter).
    Even using discount oils like Supertech Synthetic from Walmart $14.37 +$2.97, ($86.70) or Harvest King Synthetic sold at farm stores , $13.99 + $2.97 ($84.80) and more expensive Mobile One $25.47 + $2.97 ($142.20), All based on 5,000 oil change intervals.
    Total cost for Amsoil 25,000 mile oil change? $84.67. This is with 5.5 quarts of oil and 2 filter changes using Amsoil signature series oil. over 25,000 miles of driving. If you only use one filter and do not need to add oil over 25,000 miles, the cost of an Amsoil oil change drops to $62.98 for 25,000 miles!!!!!! Also, If you hire a garage mechanic to change your oil, just add 5 times his cost for changing your oil to the above figures as opposed to a one time charge to change your oil for 25,000 miles. My garage charges $25.00 if I bring my own oil and filter. If 25,000 oil changes are a reality, this is a no brainer to use Amsoil.

    Dear Sir ,
    Greetings
    I am using AMSOIL 5w-30 OE in my car for months now , but I would like to know what is the base stock of this oil , is it PAO as Signatur series or only group 3 , which it’s not synthetic, but only highly refined mineral oil , I relayed on the label mentioned it is 100% synthetic.

    • @robshaw2990
      @robshaw2990 2 года назад +2

      It is group III just like many other FULL synthetic you can buy. Only SS is truely 100% synthetic group IV and V. The Amsoil group really hate it when that info is shared.

    • @ceescorner
      @ceescorner 4 года назад

      5w / 0w is the "winter" rating on the oil. The 30 is the warmer rating, so when cold tbe 0 will flow better than the 5 til its up to temp.

      Why don't you buy some and have the product sent away to be tested? not very expensive to do. You can send virgin samples in or used. Blackstone is one company that I know tests oils but there are many others. Don't bash an oil if your not using or never had some tested on your own.

    You can get 6qt box of Havoline oil for bout 15 bucks thats 2.50 a quart 😄 its good for 5,000 miles. Signature amsoil at 13 bucks a quart. Thats 52 bucks for 4 quarts. Broken down bout the same price if i change my oil every 5,000 miles with conventional oil. 😄

    Just dont go 25000 miles with one oil change
    In 100000 miles you Gonna rebuild the engine
    Every 7500 mile do an oil change
    Your engine will last forever

    Amsoil is great but I be damned if I got 25k miles on ANYTHING! Sure it may not shear or break down but it gets dirty. You can't pick up a terd on the clean end and neither is oil above 10k miles

      In fact I am proof of doing annual oil changed for the last 25 years and no problems in 3 vehicles. Certainly you have to use oil rated for extended use and you must have excellent filtration. As I've said before, oil parameters determine when oil needs to be changed not just a pre-set number of miles.
