Great video! I need to watch more about this as I agree with it being very grabby. I tried it one a few tracks and just felt like I was sacrificing the punch of my kick and the dynamics got squeezed too much. Pro L2 is still a winner!
Definitely grabby and feels like it just folds things in a bit too quickly. It's too bad because it's a fun plugin to use and has some great features. Thanks for letting me know how you're finding it! And thanks for checking out the review...I'm glad you dig it!
Uhh. The detail and lo punch are there to make up for the limiting algorithm, but you have to use your ears. Turn the transient knob down and try the loud mode! You'll be skipping prol. Also play with the compressor with about 1 dB gr. And ms mode for more width.
Funny enough I actually tried to review this plugin on the same stream that I did the Slate review. Unfortunately, the trial version of the plugin is pretty buggy and broken. I tried re-installing and wrapping in the VST version. None if it worked sadly. Hopefully AA resolves that quickly. They usually do!
Unfortunately yes, you can't trust their releases in the early stages. My trial seems to work so far and the saturation is kinda nice for "modern punch" but still no step forward in terms of analog sound.
