Can vouche for Tim's app course. It was sooo worth it. I was already more than a year into my rope journey and had picked up most of the moves and Tim's other courses, but by committing to and completing the structured course I was definitely 3-4x better by the end of it, 6 weeks later.
He has you start from the beginning and patch up any weaknesses in your transitions and describes each move set in excellent detail. I really couldn't be happier with it. Highly recommended, whatever your skill level!
I love Golden teachers 🍄.
Never tried your rope though
really enjoyed your comparisons and the questions answered , thanks Tim
Thank you for this great unbiased review!
I love this talk and review @Tim! Kudos on your objectivity. I am new to rope flow, the last few months and am similarly enthralled! Finally, interesting cardio, and wow, it's so much more. Looking forward to your course! 🤩
You, my friend, got me hooked! My rope arrived 3 days ago and I just can't stop. crazy.
heyyy =]
Thank you for review. Checked to be sure - Octomoves is based in Lithuania, Europe.
Great comparison Tim ;) I wanted to see this for a while. Let me know if you want to try all Octomoves ropes. I will arrange it for you ;)
Hi there!! Thank you so much for the comparison Tim:
Just two points to be considered while purchasing ropes:
I took the one provided by Octomoves less than two months ago. This was the first one I bought, as it was the cheapest one from the three compared by Tim, at least for Spain, and for sure I have regreted it: I have just used it 15 min per day during these months and a half and the signs of damage are quite visible. The helpdesk does not help at all, stating that this is what I can expect
Moreover, the course that is “included” for the price you pay is ridiculous: It is just the free course that you can have without buying any rope, even directly available in RUclips. And the tips that are reflected there are not focused on the correct alignment, and benefits for the spine and health as per Tim’s. I immediately regreted my purchase and I started taking the 8-week fluidity course from TWOTR. I am incredibly happy with my purchase. 3 weeks after starting, my progress is quite obvious, and my only regret is to not having bought the Gold Teacher Rope from the very beginning. A pitty
Again, thank you very much Tim for all the effort and kindness you put in every video, tutorial and material provided
Thank you for this review. It helped me decide which rope to get and who to follow for instruction. That would be YOU! Looking forward to receiving my rope and 8-week course.
Thanks Amanda, hope it's arrived and you've started ok!
@@Tims_Gym, yes, received it last week, and I've gotten pretty good with overhand and underhand, but I can't quite do the dragon roll yet. This is so fun! Also, thanks to Ed for responding quickly to a question about taping the rope where it hits my concrete drive where I practice. He said it won't affect the flow if you tape, so that's good to know!
Thank you!
Never heard of rope flow until yesterday.... and I have now ordered your Golden Teacher and 8 week course....the only downside I see is, as you pointed out, the wait to get it to the US. Oh well, I can wait.
Hey thanks for supporting my business. Hope it gets to you asap! And welcome to this practice 🤓
You should also review Slushropes. That was the first rope I picked up. A little more dense than Golden Teacher but similar thickness, I bounce back & forth. I love them both.
Also, Tim's course is worth every penny. I got the package with all 3 ropes, which were worth the wait of shipping to the States.
How long did you wait? May I ask what part of the us? ( Eastern, western, northern, central?) im trying to figure out if it worth the wait.
@@Flowwithcody For Tim's ropes? About 2 weeks from when I ordered. It sat in customs for a week or so. I'm in the DFW area.
Perhaps to mention that it is possible to purchase the golden teacher from living tea if you are in the states. I don’t know if it saves on shipping, but it may arrive a bit sooner as it has already made part of the journey, although I’m not sure if purchasing from living tea includes any courses or not.
What are the pros and cons of a heavier or a lighter rope?
Nice comparison Tim. Here in the states, Weck is the only viable option due to shipping cost. As much as I love ropeflow and have benefited, I still feel foolish to spend $30 on a rope.
Meh, don't feel foolish. We've gotta support creators that are adding to our lives. I'm sure you've gotten at least a few dollars of value from his free material. Might as well say thanks and support what he's doing. It's not that much more expensive, and you'll get many, many miles out of it. I got mine a really long time ago and they're still in perfect condition. 🙌🏻
He also does sales periodically from his newsletter if that helps.
@@narrowkeel he can open a patreon type app
30.00 is cheap for this kind of rope
It's not foolish to dedicate $30 (or even more) to an enduring training tool that can be used every day for years. A gym membership is $30 or more just for one month. Both are worthwhile.
@@The_Alex_Murphy I use the rope 4-5 times per week and it lasts about 3 months. Fortunately, due to the incremental increase in popularity, Amazon now sells decent, cheap ropes.
I have to make the budget conscious choice here, buy a rope and knot it myself.. Tried to match material and diameter to the commercial ones, but weight can just be added with extra knots, right? If this is the A-Hah moment my back hopes for I'd get your advanced rope in the future. Great vids!
What are the actual lengths please?
Have you tried the wecks premium rope. I tried the original weck rope at the local gym, and I noticed the ropes fray rather rapidly. Just wondering if the premium might be more durable
I haven’t started rope flow just yet, but I’m VERY interested in it.
What are your thoughts on making a flow rope from 1/2” bungee cord?
How long is the golden teacher rope? Do you offer different length ropes for different sized humans?
Hey, they are one length and easy to shorten. If you are extra tall email us and we have a few XL ones for people who need that.
maybe it is somewhere on your channel, but why can't I use a jump rope? a beaded one? Not the crossfit ones? currentyl studying maceflow along with my taichi and karate practice, but definetely want to try ropeflow in the futue
You can use one to try it of course, but to get the most you'd want to try a proper rope for the way it moves in the air just feels different to any jump rope which is made more for speed
I ordered the 3 rope and course deal.
I don’t mind if products comes from far distance, but can my package get a window seat?
hey thanks for your support! ha cannot gurantee that =]
I bougth Octomoves rope with the course for beginners I payed more than 90 dollars I did not know there are tons of videos of rope in youtube....
I have bougt a lenght of rope at the local boating shop. Much cheaper. And no shipping…
Good idea. Which material/type of cordage and what thickness did you choose? Do you know how much it weighs?
Cool thanks, now I'm going to run down to the hardware store and buy some 1/2 inch rope maybe 5/8 inch. Same kind of rope for like.75 cents a foot. Heck for that price I can get one of each. I don't convert to metric, not sorry.
Won’t be the same quality but whatever gets you moving 👍🏼
Wondering why you prefer the lighter rope?
I do more footwork flows and because they are faster they work better for that.
Can a rope be too heavy or too light?
It depends on your goals but yes if its too light you dont get the right feedback from it and if its too heavy it changes your balance a lot
Anyone truly get a good workout and get lean doing this or that's not what Rope Flow is about?
