  • David Weck has spent the last thirty years developing The WeckMethod - a fitness ecosystem to help athletes become more in-tune with the way their body moves so they can apply learnings to optimize training outcomes.
In addition to developing unique products including RMT Club®, RMT Rope®, ProPulse® Speed Trainers and SoleSteps®, the WeckMethod also delivers athletic training programmes that trains rotational and vertical movements, ultimately improving the body’s mechanics, strength and balance.
In this video, Weck invites Escape founder Matthew Januszek into his purpose built WeckMethod Lab to teach:
    • A drill that delivers a huge increase in upper body strength
    • The importance of fascial connection and ’weaponizing’
    • How to obtain maximum coil to ‘launch from the haunch’
    • Engaging the spinal engine to create explosive power
    • The positive impact of balance locomotion on back pain
    • Explosive power through ‘step and express’ movement
    • The importance of training balance rotation and verticalization
This video is the first of a three-part Weck Workout Series. In the other two workouts David demonstrates how to use his ProPulse® Speed Trainers and RMT Rope to optimize rotational balance.

He may not have even realized this, but that posture is reminiscent of Atlas

I use this principle of the coil for capoeira and my ginga has completely changed: more balance, explosiveness, less fatigue on the thighs and better recruitment of the buttocks and abdomen. If you are a capoerista try to apply these concepts and you will make fire and flames.

Have to love the passion and the amount of knowledge he displays in a period of a second. Definitely a lifelong dedication to the topic, he is exploring the maximum range of motion of the human body with new technics and movement patterns. Definitely something to continue to follow and eventually to apply into training routines. This method definitely can be a mix in as a complement with conventional S&C training, no doubt.

Really excellent, natural postures and movements. The launch is new to me for both of these WeckMethod drills. Thank you.

A huge missed opportunity. Should have had him max on bench, then go through the weck method and see if there’s an improvement. Or maybe they did film that and it didn’t work, so cut it from the final film
