I've just bought one in New Zealand. I take delivery in Aug or Sept. White with black interior with red stitching. Super excited! Just paid the deposit this morning. I live in Queenstown, New Zealand... so heaps of winding mountain roads all around me. Can't wait! I've had a 2002 WRX for the past 21 years, which I bought new... I've loved that car and will still keep it... but I'm looking forward to making this my new favorite!
It's absolutely worth it (for msrp). Sure it has some quirks and is missing some things (armrest) but all of that fades away when I drive this car how it's meant to be driven. Tons of fun in the mountain roads. Also, the i30n and the GRC are pretty evenly matched so good on Hyundai for making something affordable with performance.
You lost me at praising the JBL speakers as some of the best speakers you’ve heard in such a small car. I had a GR Yaris Rallye, and it is well known that the JBL speakers are maybe a step or two above the standard unbranded jobbies you get in a base car.
I reckon if they bring out the auto version it will have much more sales than just 700 but I personally think looks wise the i30 n is the new king of hot hatches
fine with the smaller screen. I only need to have wireless apple carplay to pump some tunes and handle navigation through waze or google maps and the rest of the time I am just bangin gears or hooning around roads or tracks. picking mine up later this week.
Taps the diffuser at 5:11 and the whole thing moves, damn that looks cheaply constructed! The looks have already worn off on me with all the piano black plastic on the exterior and the front grill is nasty, lacking any real design imagination.
I like it, it's quite understated, you have to take a closer look to see that it's a GR Corolla. Some things I don't like: plastics look cheap, and the piano black...they should have installed something in carbon fiber or something; forced to install ppf to protect.
Your lucky your getting them as the uk isn’t, we do have the GR86 which is sold out but some used ones are being sold £10,000 more than list price. Is this any better than that car ? Love the Hyundai N cars but with them starting to discontinued them there won’t be many hot hatches left 😢

GRC > Type R

Imagine this engine on a 900kg Lotus Elise

Agree with Jacob 👍
they're only releasing 700. its not because they can only sell 700

I agree with Jacob about the screen size, BUT I’d want the bigger screen anyway lol.
To everyone who says that hot hatches are practical: look at this boot.
IF YOU YOUNG LADS NEED LUMBAR SUPPORT YOU WILL FEEL CRIPPLED WHEN YOU GET OLD (Get off your asses and go for a run/walk/swim every day...)
100% agree.
90% if people don't work out at all.
I work out every single day.
Resting hr of 39 bpm.
We agree, we are just keeping an eye out for our more *mature* audience 😁
@@CarSauce Ahh, good to know 😄
Interesting you say the JBL is good. I've heard it's horrendous
Just posted this. Definitely lost some credibility here. Just tell it how it is.

Do you have OCD ?
Agree with Jacob 👍

I've got mine in black... Look ok until I drove it. So much fun fun. Tad expensive thou but worth it yes.
anyone else see the ripple through the body panels when he slammed the door hard as fuck lol. jokes aside nice review! picking one up next week
Doesn’t sound great 😢
So these are already sold out? Kinda six having to wait 2 years to get one..
What's the kerb weight ? Good review guys.
Arnt you guys gonna review the GR supra?
Yes sir!
@@CarSauce hurry up please
Jacob
Toyota believes it's the paragon of reliability. it'll be interesting over the longer term, how a car with a three cylinder manual goes.
Think GR Yaris which has been out since 2020.
62k for a Corolla, Corolla??? Great times we live in ;)
People are willing to pay as ridiculous as it may sound. xD
add $10,000 mark up
not in australia
You have Parking Sensors!!
Who cares about apple in a gr corolla
Every Corolla looks like that.
Best car I’ve owned
I do like this car… yet my money is still being sucked towards an i30n
Got mine
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Such a let down i30n ftw still
The looks are good, but still the i30 N is best I reckon. More bang for buck and that exhaust crackle is amazing
Then you realize you drive a Hyundai that’ll last 4 years
@@jimmyvu6919That Hyundai engine is proven bulletproof for about 20 years ago.
I test drove one. Overrated .
What would be a better alternative? Hyundai I20N 30N Kona N ??
Lol they don’t let people test drive these cars
What driving conditions and how many miles did you drive in? You should be honest in your assessment.
I actually test drove an owner's car and can say that the GRC is a great hot hatch.
@@dougmaverick3287 it's good but the hype and the car is overrated. Plus it weighs 200kgs over the GR Yaris and can be felt when driving .
