Not what happened. The Giants manager is the one that told the umps that wasn't the pitcher he wanted, that he wanted Doval (whom he hadn't even started warming up). Marlins were mad bc the Giants were gaming the system, using the time while the 1st RP was coming out & going back to warm up Doval & chilling the Marlins who had been rallying.
I think the Marlins mgr screwed himself by being petulant. If he'd more calmly insisted that Doval have fewer warm-up pitches due to gaming the system, he probably would've gotten what he wanted (since Laz limited him to 5 pitches instead of the usual 8).

He had to wait for the first "incorrect" reliever to get back, which must be done within the original 2 minutes. Then the clock is reset and restarted as the correct reliever comes out "as soon as possible" after the wrong one is back. This was all explained by Jomboy in the video.
He also said a team could intentionally have the wrong guy go but not take the mound and need to be sent back in order to game the system by allowing the right guy a couple minutes to throw in the pen plus the normal (two minutes minus the time it takes to get to the mound minus no new warmup pitch in the last thirty seconds). Jomboy then opined that it didn't seem like they were intentionally doing that in this case. At least that is what I heard; I personally don't know the pitchclock rules.

Lose-lose situation for Skip. If he says nothing in a sort of lame duck position, that doesn't look great to his bosses or future employers. Not arguing for extra balls in the count for your batters when you have room for an argument might be something the Mets would do but it's the manager's job to fight for every opportunity that can benefit his team. Maybe the pitches get called differently with a different count and ends with a different result, who knows. But if he does say something, then people will complain about him making a mountain out of a molehill. I think I like him saying something and do think the umpire handled it fairly well (though it is a timing loophole and "upstairs" should've started the timer sooner) but he could've been wayyyyy more chill about it and had a more amenable convo with the ump. If I was a manager I'd always want the umpires to be thinking "Hmm, well that manager is being fair to me so I'm going to consciously be fair to them."

Why do ALL (well most) managers always scream "You're Better Then That!" on most fights you always hear that. LOL

I was wondering why the Giants had blue numbers on their jerseys. I'd never seen them wear that color before, but about 80% of the way through the video I realized they were all wearing the number 42 and this was a Jackie Robinson thing.

Great stuff! Can you mention who wins the game/final score for the videos where it's not part of the topic?
