I think Montoyo covered his mouth specifically for jomboy, and he was still able to read his lips. Jomboy is unstoppable.
Was thinking the same thing when I was watching it live.

The umps this year are really making a hell of a case for being replaced by robots.
These are the decisions that literally can't be made by a robotic umpire, though.
exactly.. they denied the idea of robot umpire but indirectly they make it really close to it
No kidding
@@tissuepaper9962 Exactly, these kinds of dumb decisions wouldn't be made. you could just have robots for strikes/balls, safe/out and then have one ump for all the drama

Fun fact even the Yankees broadcast booth thought this was stupid so you know it ridiculous when the other teams broadcast are annoyed
LOL yeah I remember Yankees fans coming into the Blue Jays’s GDT saying that they thought it was BS too 😂

It's unreal to me that players and coaches don't consistently beat umpires within an inch of their life for constantly ruining the game.
Fortunately, the majority of players and coaches are more civilized than you.
If only they did they wouldn’t be so dogshit at their jobs. MLB umpires are the worst officiating entity in sports history.
If Constable Odo is to be believed, even touching the umpire is grounds for immediate ejection.

Let's face it! The mass ejection was because they were playing against the Yankees.
They would have tolerated all this if the Yankees did the same exact thing, and maybe only a warning to both benches would be issued.
Every league have their favourite team. For hockey, it's the Bruins and Penguins. For baseball, it's the Yankees and their fans wonder why we hate them.

I've generally been opposed to the idea of robo umps so far. Mainly because then coaches would have nothing to argue with, and watching a grown man throw a tantrum in public is one of the few things left in this world that brings me genuine joy. However, man this stuff is making me warm up to that idea really quick.
The biggest problem with robo umps is that they'll need to read a 3d strike zone that changes with every player. I'd assume that they are currently inaccurate and need more time with them before any point of implementation. The better less lazy solution is to fire bad umps tbh. If you can't do your job get replaced by someone who can. The occasional bad calls or bad game by an ump will keep the sport entertaining with arguments but at a certain point just send them down a league and fire them if no improvement is made.
the only robo ump change thats seriously being considered is automatic balls and strikes. No other calls would be robotic (ie plays at the plate). So even if we go with automatic balls and strikes the umpire will still be back there for other plays, and most people thing the umpire would still make the ball and strike signal himself, he just has something in his ear that tells him what to call
Robo umps will only call balls and strikes. So you’ll always need umps on the field to make other calls and to decide about ejections.
All robo umps would be required to install the Angel Hernandez patch though.
@@jer6579 We can land rovers on Mars I’m sure they can figure out how to make a dynamic strike zone lol

He’s above the game there playing they getting be a betting ring in the mlb or sum cause this is so stupid

It’s so incredibly obvious how the league does everything in its power to ensure the Yankees always look good and come out as the victors.
I remember back when my Marlins beat the Yankees in 6 games in the 2003 WS. The baseball Illuminati were so mad it was palpable the whole offseason. It was especially lovely for me because I was in high school and my class (taught by the baseball coach) was having a discussion about the WS and I told everyone it would be Marlins in 6 games. Most others in the class said Yankees in 5 or Yankees in 6, coach said Yankees in 7. 😂
I feel like the MLB will eventually watch Jomboy’s breakdowns in case they want to find any evidence or fine anyone for saying absurd things 😂
What makes you think they haven't already?😂
"And we're going to Jomboy" xD
I like your comment but theyre probably just out in ferraris and in massive homes counting stacks not giving a shit. We all know thats obvious based on the state of MLB
A manager the other day covered his mouth while talking to the ump. Presumably to prevent Jomboy from reading his lips.
EDIT: Oh wait, that was this game.
That would require the league to punish incompetent people...
The entire Yankees bench was yelling and cursing that entire time, the second the Canadians get fired up: gone. You can’t convince me that they weren’t betting on this game.
They weren’t even fired up. They just brought up how the umps gave warnings prior to that pitch

When Montoyo explained what happened after a game one of the reporters commented that “it makes no sense” why you would throw at him in a tie game, on the second pitch, in an 0-1 count.

It’s like that Seinfeld episode where the deaf woman says “I’ll do it” to Jerry and George’s astonishment. 😂😂😂
The fact that Yankees players were calling for the ejection and the Umps immediately complied is suspect.
@CJ P. Nope. It is for everyone, you fanboy. Yankees have been favored by the league for decades, this is just yet another instance of it.
@CJ P. WHAT? The BJ skipper got ejected for saying the umps gave warnings already. Thats suspect enough
@CJ P. BAHAHAHA you cute little fanboy! Take off your Yankees pajamas and look at the facts. Yanks were cheating worse and not only did the league downplay their cheating, but they hid additional evidence. Cry about it
@CJ P. Yeah if you actually watched the game live you could tell the umps got influenced by the Yankees on the steps of the dugout...even Jimmy admits it dude.
@CJ P. you mean like when the Yankees were caught stealing signs in 2015-2016 seasons and nobody did anything about it?
Best channel on the planet! Entertaining as ever, thank you Jomboy!
Given what they apparently told Montoyo, the four umpires got together and jointly concluded that, due to some trash talking getting a little heated, Heineman (Blue Jays catcher) called for a beanball in a tie game, and the pitcher (Garcia) simply went along with it. So they not only ejected Garcia on really flimsy grounds, they decided to double down and insult his intelligence on top of it.
"That's fucking hor-" knowing baseball coaches, we all know what he said.

That was a bullshit ejection tbh and I'm a Yankees fan, actually not only the ejection of the pitcher but most of them.
I feel like on principle, because specifically the previous batter was a home run the pitcher needs to go. Kinda like head to head collision in Football, most guys never intentionally do it. But if it happens you have to follow the letter of the law. If they weren’t you’d end up with pitchers taking acting classes to get away with it (or bad acting people are dumb).
@@Fityfo54 the first pitch came no where near JD tho, Idk feels like that the ump should realize a ball just got away from him
We dont care who you root for. Or at least shouldn't
@@gagecollie2180 And Refs should realize that ball carriers lean into helmet to helmet contact? What's the difference? The history that baseball has and the extreme danger of a baseball moving at 80-100mph makes this a black and white issue from my perspective.
I agree that these umps were not reasonable in the calls following and allowed the Yankees to throw a near miss without repercussion is bullshit. But I view this as a "We need pitchers to be more aware of their throws ESSPECIALLY in this situation, were here to play a game not kill/maim anyone."
Again it should be a no tolerance rule, simply because of history and potential danger. I really do believe in these situations it should be "the powers at be" who throw out that pitcher. and force there there to be a hearing/review to decide whether the pitch was intentional or not for the purposes of fines and/or suspension.
@@Fityfo54 i don’t believe it to be this way balls get away and people shouldn’t be tossed for a ball getting away at the head maybe but at the back worst that happens is a bad bruise, head to head contact often can lead to concussions and/or neck injuries which are much more dangerous

What happened to the umpire immediately pointing to the pitcher saying "This is your warning, the next one your out." and then continuing on with the game. MLB now requires the umpires conference. I don't like it, but that's the way it is.
From what I understood, and I believe Jomboy mentioned it during the Mariners/Angels brawl video that, that apparently MLB thought the umpires physically getting together and discussing the situation would be a good way to open some time for heads to be allowed to cool. That supposedly just issuing warning or ejection was too quick and was causing too many hot headed moments, idk. It’s all lame really. Takes too long like you said.

as a Australian who doesn't know to much about mlb, after watching a few of his videos I've been wondering same thing. the umps are making game changing decisions, randomly ejecting people for little to no reason, and just seems to be 'part of the game'. either something dodgy going on or feels umps should get there own thrme music when they do it like WWE, cause feels like I'm watching that.
@@mrboobyhead Vegas wants games to be close until the end so either team can win. This is entirely obvious in the NFL. Especially after last season's playoffs where every game -- including half-time blowouts by the Rams and Chiefs -- came down to last second field goals or overtime. The officials only need to make one or two questionable calls that favor the team given the nod to affect a game.
Watching Jomboy's videos, it's pretty clear MLB umps are doing the same sort of "one-eye-blind" officiating.
The reason it feels like you are watching a rigged WWE match is because you are.
Vegas never loses.
At least the bruins are eliminated
That live commentary at the end was great, would love to see more of that
I love going back and watching these old ones and remembering why the games took so long they needed to add the pitch clock lol
You’ll never see this. I’m an artist, I could really care less about pretty much all sports, but the way you break it down makes it really fun to watch. Thanks. 🙌🏼
There are only 3 Yankee fans I have ever genuinely liked. My grandmother (God rest her soul), My best friend Rick, and Jomboy.
As an aside...This is what happens when Umps make ridiculous calls in previous games and are challenged on it. They have, not only a memory, but an ego that usually shows up in games after they've already made atrocious calls. They feel the need to 'show who is boss'. Ideally umps should be invisible throughout a game. Unfortunately that very fact is why we see such overreactions and horrendous calls with regularity.
The players are even worse.. Petulant whiney loud mother little girls. Hate that whole team.. Love ny though
Jomboy being a Yankees fan is literally the only thing unlikable about him
Why, because everyone else has to take it deep? jk btw
By far my favorite mention of an ad in any youtube video ever
Jomboy - just went to my first game (KC@CLE) in over 20 years thanks to watching all your videos, giving me the urge to start watching and going to games again - and I just wanted to thank you, as it was the most fun I’ve had in a long time!!
I forgot the way an electric crowd going nuts for your team makes you feel! (Not to mention the endless amount of gorgeous women as far as the eye can seeeee 😳😍)
Unfortunately there wasn’t really any noteworthy events for a classic Jomboy breakdown.
"What, you want me to sign it?" Lol talking about signing things for fans in the middle of this argument
you've earned my like with that last bit. Umpires are making sure everyone hates them and that much closer to no umps at all
I wanted more of your reaction at the end!!
Another great episode of The Umpire Show! Ending sucked though.
Something kind of similar happened in 2015 between the Royals and Blue Jays in August. Donaldson got beaned by Volquez early and both benches got warned. Volquez brushed him back high later (no ejection), Madson beaned Tulo in the chest (no ejection) and then brushed Donaldson back high (no ejection). Sanchez beaned Escobar in the mid leg and got immediately tossed.
I appreciate your input on this! You didn't have to rub in the walk off at the end, however 😒 I was literally yelling at Schneider (through the tv, cause that usually works) to get someone up in the bullpen... it was immediately obvious that Romano didn't have it that night & it was completely an avoidable loss.
Anyway, we all know the jays are better than they seem (on paper) they'll come around 🥺🙏
Watching the dumpster fire that has been the MLB in the last few years is way more exciting than the actual games at this point.
Jomboy, single handedly keeping baseball relevant
Baseball has more sports action per game than American Football. But American attention spans are so pathetic the average American doesn't notice it. Asia loved baseball more now
@@TRIGGEREDHarambe In Asia Baseball is thriving. The Americans just don't have the attention span for the game anymore....
Totally agree. Manfred is absolutely destroying the sport.
@@yunak9665 and that hunk of metal he hands out every year.
I was waiting for this video after I watched it live
Good end with explanations
The Blue Jays were the most civilized during this entire shitshow and only they ended up with ejections. Nice League.
The last two minutes really shows both how much Jomboy knows his shit and how awesome baseball is. Every at bat is a battle in itself
Best ad placemet ever. From left field.... bam... straight to the forehead. Love that.
Never see those ad plugs coming. Good job Jomboy
The player in the outfield talking to the fans killed me
Great world building there. George R.R Martin and JK Rowling would be proud.
Jomboy can read lips even without lips to see?!?!? 6:27
