I’m a Yankee fan and was at a playoff game in the late 99’s against the Indians. There was a nice woman/mom dressed nice with a red blazer with a Yahoo Indian pendant on the blazer. She was sitting a few rows down from me and someone dumped a beer on her. That was the first time I was embarrassed as a Yankee fan. This video is the second time.
As someone who has been to 23 parks over my 40 years the Yankees, giants and the white Sox have the worst fans if you’re a road fan. The royals are the nicest. And I’m a tiger fan. .
Back in 2010 when the Rangers were in town for the ALCS the Rangers' wives and girlfriends complained about similar things happening to them multiple times. I remember the camera showing them once or twice and they all looked absolutely miserable. Baseball games should be fun. Stay classy Yankees.
Props to jomboy for calling this shit out. Hoping there is real world consequences for those who threw beer cans at the players. Could of seriously injured someone.
the guy that did it at the Skydome in the 2015 ALCS/DS (can't remember which it was) was banned for life from MLB venues and legally charged. He has said on record that he regrets it, but honestly he got what he deserved and this is coming from a Jays fan. These asshole Yankees fans should not only have the same done to them but should be publicly named and shamed so the rest of the Yankees fanbase who aren't scumbags can move on. Baseball is better without these assholes and that girl's reaction to her fellow NYers acting like savages pretty much sums it up. There's acceptable rowdiness and then there's public disorder and drunkenness. This is very much so the latter .

Possible "fix". When this stuff happens, let the camera people keep filming the people throwing the stuff. Then release it to the Public and ask them to turn in anyone they recognize and they get 4 free (real good seats) and free concession food to a game. Then charge the people with attempted assault since someone could have been injured. Want to bet after some of these people are on the news getting arrested and then maybe some of them losing their jobs because of it, it becomes less common. Sure, they won't go to jail, but that charge will now be showing up on any background checks. Be hard to plead not guilty when it would be on video.

I was at this game, but had left just before this happened. It was my first time at Yankee Stadium - as a lifelong Red Sox fan and part of a multi-generational Sox family, it was humbling to be there. But I remember when we were talking with fans seated near us, who were clearly season ticket holders, they told us not to venture into the right field area, explaining that's where all of the really drunk idiots hang out. I’ll never forget my first and last NBA game. Pistons vs Pacers, I was a Piston fan but my favorite player was Reggie Miller when I was around 8 years old. We had near nose bleed seats and the guy behind me swore and yelled Reggie Miller you suck the whole entire game. I remember crying and not enjoying the game at all… the guy saw how upset I was and he got louder. Some people just need the spotlight. As for me, I enjoyed Red Wings games and hockey way more 🥲

We had a “fan” like this in Toronto during the wild card game in 2016 where he threw a beer can at a player in the outfield. He was banned for life. I hope every single “fan” that participated in this gets the same sentence. There’s no room for this nonsense in baseball. Props to Judge and Stanton for being leaders and telling the people to cut it out. 👍🏻
In 2015 vs. the Rangers you had about 200 beer cans and other assorted bottles get thrown onto the field. One of them hit a baby in the stands. It's the incident that led to all the animosity between Odor and Bautista. Sad day for Toronto fans for sure.
This makes me embarrassed to be a Yankees fan. I can’t imagine rooting for someone’s injury and throwing something at them. Sports are amazing, but sometimes they showcase some awful people and fans. And making a young fan scared to be there is an awful experience for that fan, and that should never happen. People should go to baseball games to have fun and enjoy the sport, and there shouldn’t be any times at the stadium where people are afraid for their safety.
The Yankee players who came out at the end to help curb the nonsense are class acts for doing that, way to show true sportmanship and caring for the other team.

So sad and frustrating to see this. I'm a Yankees fan since I was 11 years old but I live in Mexico City so I've never been in a Yankees' game, it's one of my biggest dreams in life. Some of these people get the chance to go to the stadium every month or so and this is what they do? Man, if you're there watching the game, remember you are living the dream of many other people around the world and act accordingly
The scene of that parent trying to protect his daughter was painful to watch. Nobody should feel unsafe going to a baseball game.
You'll make it one day. Maybe a day they play in Texas or something so it isn't as far. You got it man.
@@Anon.G Didn't they want to do a game in Mexico? Kinda like England?
I doubt that'll happen after that horrid massacre that happened there after a soccer game recently...
No offense to OP. But Yankees fans, as terrible as they are, are relatively harmless compared to some other fans across the world. ...So I guess that just furthers your point. We really are living the dream.
Well said. Hope you get there.
I like what you're saying, but "..living the dream of many other people around the world.." is not that accurate :D The rest of the world literally does not follow MBA, mainly North America

Even as a World Series Champion Braves fan I agree. Well done Judge and Stanton and BIG KUDOS to Mercado and Straw for sticking up for Kwan. That deserves a Player of The Year Award for LOYALTY.
When there’s a conflict between the players, the team leadership, the league leadership, and the fans, considering how much society is going down the deep end, you know sooner or later that sports is going to be more than just 2 teams or players competing against each other. I got a feeling it’s going to turn into a full-fledged wild circus if we don’t teach sports fans the basic human concept of RESPECT for others and stop this bullshorts and nonsense.
Yankee fans are the main reason people don’t like the Yanks lmao
Many Yankees fans are very intelligent when it comes to talking baseball and I consider myself one of them. I go to a bunch of games every year. I follow baseball and the other three major sports very closely. I constantly check stats and what milestones players are approaching and many other things. This was extremely embarrassing for the Yankees fans who know how to behave at games.

It worked you are all fools especially Jomboy Media for falling for his scam.

I'm more hoping that since these peoples' faces were so clearly captured by the stadium cameras, that their RL friends will be like "what the hell, dude? What are you, 8 years old or something?"
No class. Period. True fans of any team and any sport don’t act like that. Hope dude is alright that hit the wall. Much respect for the effort.
This is what true fans do all the time. A prerequisite of being a fan is not having class, sadly. That really has nothing to do with the situation. They are deeply connected to the team they are rooting for, and they are likely drunk, so their highs and lows are accentuated.
When you challenge a drunk mob who feel empowered, everyone loses.

They are stupid fans. Most likely drunk. I blame their parents for them to act like fools. As if New York doesn't already have a bad enough reputation.

The Yankees should close off the first 20 rows of seats in RF for a couple of games to punish the fans, even the ones who did not toss anything. Make them think about their actions and have a large police presence in the stands next game. Of course, this being New York, they don't have to worry about any consequences of their actions, no bail, just walk.
As a Philly sports fan I can say the Yankee fans really outdid us here. We’ve thrown stuff on the field and we’ve cheered when players got hurt but never both in the same inning.
