what started as deploying a live bait in hopes of catching a yellow tail kingfish quickly turned into one of the most Hair raising battles of my life.
This massive mako shark went airborne immediately on hook set and had me doubting the safety of my kayak [or as some would call it "a toothpick"] nevertheless I was in for an epic battle that will be etched deep in my memory forever!

Unbelievable, that was so exciting, I can't believe you wanted to land it next to the kayak. That's crazy, they are a mental fish to catch, at the sight of a boat they usually go ballistic, yours went ballistic at the start, good you had some distance. Great footage, your excitement was palpable. Great stuff.

Well done mate... you were so lucky it was docile next to your yak.... the last one we landed decided to bite the yak twice! makos can be very very angry haha..... awesome fight and great species to capture on camera!!
