After weeks of RUclips hunting, this is the best fishing kayak setup video I've found. Great tips, especially the simplification of systems and the full run-through of your setup. I've got a Viking kayak, so its perfect. Thanks!
That's awesome to here man! Really hope the tips help you catch some fish, tight lines brother! Go slay them
It looks like a really good set-up. I like that you keep it simple, yet extremely versatile. You have made a rig that all kayak anglers can learn from.
Thanks man. Simple often works
New kayaker here from florida. Looking forward to watching you catch fish. Its my early morning motivation with coffee. thanks for sharing your story.
Thanks man, pretty cool to be sharing my fishing with people around the world. Tight lines!
awesome kayak setup and great safety tips. I had a close call with my sea anchor rope nearly getting caught on my bixpy motor. learnt to b more aware since
Cheers man we are all always learning myself included, keep Killin it
Sweet, now do one on the rods you take and their purposes. I started with a softbait rod and have just got an overhead ledger rig rod. Would be good to see what other combos / rigs I should / could be running with.
Thanks man, in all honesty the Rods I use are simply the Rods I can afford, sometime in the future I'll do a video on them👍
great editing
My best regards from Greece
Wow Greece. Awesome
Awesome video mate. Really enjoy your content 😎
Thanks a tone. glad your enjoying the content as much as I'm enjoying making it
Thanks Matt. It's always interesting to see how others set things up. I am constantly trying out new ways of setting up the yak. I have a Fishmaster 4.3 which I bought about 6 months ago and I am still refining how I do things. Before that I had been using a "not for fishing" kayak. I did ok, but having a made for fishing kayak has really lifted my fishing experience.
I am the Mount for this week, the weather is light winds and I have been fishing in the harbour but my usual spots are not performing. I am old school so I like to use real bait. I have been using squid, pillies and tuatuas but there are too many small snapper and I either lose my bait or catch an undersized one. Today I must have thrown back 25 snapper. Tomorrow I am going to see how the slow jigs and the soft baits perform.
Yea man a good kayak is a game changer. This time of year the fishing in harbours is difficult. If i were u I'd be going off the south end of papamoa beach👍 good luck
Hi Matt thanks for the info on the flounder.I enjoyed this video I've looking at new kayaks and wondering about the set up. Your right about keeping things simple and yeah if it can go wrong it will. I bought a gheenoe a few months ago to give some protection for my spine and the bull sharks and gators we now have croks from south Florida but it's just to heavy with out a motor. If I can ask if you were to buy a new one knowing what you do which one would you buy. O this RUclips stuff just a heads up I've had it and every one I know have. Hate 😡 so yeah just don't pay attention to it. Your work is really good you know what you're talking about and how to teach which is rare for someone so young. So please don't let it get under your skin or upset you. O if you get a big mackerel can you show how to cook it I got one yesterday and gave it away because I couldn't remember how to cook it. It warmed up and rain river to high to fish and saltwater I'm having to go way out. Scary. But watching your videos helps get on the water. Thanks Matt
Thanks Michael, if I were to buy a kayak today it would either be the new version of the viking profish 400 or the viking reload.. and I know that no matter what you do someone will always find something to critique, but those people aren't the people I aspire to be so their opinion means nothing to me. Tight lines man and careful with those crocks💯
Good to hear man. I tried out a Viking GT sale man was really pushing it. Really stable I could stand up on it but 2000 plus tax and gear. Ouch 😳 thinking about trying to find a good used one. And yeah 😂 I've had a few close calls with the croks and gators and bull sharks they don't give me much warning. But I give them my full attention gators back down croks they don't bulls or insane. But we did have any a few years ago so though they scare me a lot and come out of nowhere I glad there back. So far I haven't had to shot them an I hope I don't. A friend landed and got a clean release on a 12ft 4 inch great white from the navar beach that's 2 in north west Florida and 1 I Alabama. The first time anyone has ever landed one here ever. there tagged and released quick . Tight lines Man.
Good info brother. I m very new kayaking, not confidence to go deep sea.
Good on yah man, stick with it and confidence will come
You need a bigger tape measure for the fish you catch keep the videos coming 😅
Haha it's a good problem to have, cheers man
I found a used hoodoo tempest 12 footer. not happy with set up yet. need to streamline and really want a pedal drive
Nice one! Pedal drives are great unless you plan on doing surf launches. Good luck!
