  • fishing isn't all glory, sometimes it's just your own company and quiet times. I thought I'd make this video to show that sometimes you just gotta enjoy the serenity of the sea. cheers tangaroa for the stunner day. would've been nice to have some more success but now I'm just that much more eager for next time.

Your content is so organic, when your channels blows up and you start getting epic sponsors please dont change your style. Watching you catch 20 pounders on relativey budget tackle is awesome. I have a bunch of saltigas that havent done 1/10 the fish that the tr 200-G reel of yours has seen

thanks bro that means a lot. weather the channel blows up or not i'll just keep doing what i do. I've never liked the promotion of top shelf products buy sponsored fisherman, it just seems so unobtainable to your average fisho. mid range will always do good for me. that tr 200-g has seen some things mate, bought it second hand 4 years ago for 50$ and somehow its still going. appreciate your comments brother

pretty sick you got to see the dolphins. still yet to experience close encounters with the dolphins on the kayak. good haul on the kayak despite the slow session for ya. that scorpion fish was a good haul. looked 'fun' wen the scorpionfish dropped on you haha. i bleed all of my snappers too and definitely helps improve eating quality

Ah the joys of kayak fishing (dropping fish over the side or right into your crotch😂). Hope you get to see dolphins soon, they're definitely a more common sighting in the north.

Good video, yes we don't hook monsters every day but it's fishing. I have the same habit of releasing my first fish in Polynesia, it's a positive and respectful sign. Very nice spot at your place in New Zealand.🤙🤙🤙

Thankyou man, here in nz it's tradition to let the first fish go as an offering to tangaroa (Maori God of the sea). So cool that it's practiced in other parts of the world. Polynesian fishing must be beautiful too!

Bleeding the snapper is good for sashimi too. I would recommend giving it a try. Dry age the snapper for at least 3 days and its really good.

Cheers for that. I do love me some sashimi, with snapper I typically have it raw the day it's caught. Unfortunately don't have the realistate in my mini fridge to dry age, would love to try it one day!

Here in oz your grand daddy hapuka is a red rock cod, bucket mouth that doesn't fight. I have caught more of them than i have snapper.

Definitely worth a try, they taste great. We call them the poor man's crayfish here. The meat is firm and perfectly white like a cray👍
