Another great video Matt. I am really enjoying your videos. I am going to go to my secret spot on the western side of the Coromandel peninsula on Friday. Only 6 metres deep but I got my limit (7) of snapper there a couple of weeks (32 o 35 cm) ago in a couple of hours.. Only 1.5 kms paddle from the carpark. Fish your feet first is a good mantra. I live near Hamilton so I can't just pop out for a fish after work but I am a big fan of shallow fishing. Anyhow, keep up the good videos.
i've actually been doing a bit of experimenting with cooking the yakkas, pretty good eating if you ask me. maybe a video in the near future if i can catch a few. thanks for the support, cool that u like the content. im really enjoying making it
Matt WOW 😳 incredible beautiful places 😊. I landed one snapper last week but I've got to be honest I can't find them like you do. I spin to much time worried about bull shark 😔 we all loved the video thanks for the awesome adventure. I'm going to tell all my subscribers to check out your channel and like and subscribe. I put up a crappie video got 80,000 view but one up same place and got 700 I don't understand you tube. But yeah man love this video you've got me back into the salt Life. If I don't get eaten alive. Florida is full of sharks a guy on the beach got a 14 ft great white 300 yards from were I put my kayak in. 😢😢. But I had a great time I was thinking out there ok how did Matt do this 😅. Matt you keep putting video's like this out there in a year your going to be big. I'll ask miller Wilson to check out your channel. Thank Matt
Would love to see you do some more shallow water straylining keep up the good work bro. Would love to see you fish in monganui harbour quite a few good snapper.
thanks bro. I don't do much straylining as i honestly find it a bit boring, much prefer the challenge of hunting the fish down with lures. But being winter its definitely a good time to be straylining for the big dogs. might be a mission coming up, just see how it goes
@@NomadicKayakFishing I would like to do some lure fishing or softbaiting myself. but my dad is more of the guy to put out a massive bait out the back to maybe not catch a fish.
Have tried a jack mack japanese recipe , fillet marinate in ginger ,oil, and garlic i think. fried wasnt to bad fish were from clean offshore water not muddy harbour three good sized macks was plenty makes a change for snapper
Morning bro happy Monday. I keep forgetting to ask, but so these gopro have a very long battery life for filming? I see alot off people using them and always forget to ask people, Nice score bro on the catch, I luckily found my current headtorch on the side of the road literally lol as I was walking along. Saved me a few bucks 😂. Have an amazing week ahead.
Cheers mate! I run a mix of Shimano, Penn, Fin nor, and Abu Garcia. This Particular day I'm using a Shimano tr100g on a Abu Garcia bait cast rod. Aswell as a a Penn warfare 300 reel on a Penn alliance 4-8kg spinning rod. Hope that helps bro
@NomadicKayakFishing had a bronzie come up under my kayak today at Waihau bay did what you said hit it on the nose with my paddle a couple of times. Then, ten minutes later. Hello, hooked. A grey nurser got pulled out to the point. Ow well. Could have been worse. Had a good day out there
surprsingly successful sessions r always the best. shallow water trolling with the kayak is so fun especially for snapper
And also kn to see the Ol Macky catch and cook..

Treat the Jacks well, iki and ice. Sashimi them before you try any other methods. You will find out why people eat them. Very fine eating.
Cleaned up mate! Too easy. What gears you use for your setups?
