  • Hunting down big winter snapper is never easy, but the cold waters and shorter days make success that much sweeter! The stars aligned today and I found myself hooked into an absolute slab of a FAT WINTER BEAST, the drag started screaming and the hours of searching melted away as reality set in. Strap in for this one, she's a goodie.

Winter shallows with sb for the win!.... Nice mahi with the release after a long days work. 75cm should easy be in the 15lb mark... I recon around this length they can dramatically vary in weight.... some feel closer to 20lb when they have a big gut and head on them.

Thanks Andy. Yea I've seen some huge differences in weight around the mid seventies... my guess was 16-17is lbs. Good condition but not anything crazy

Always exciting to see a big red appear next to the yak, it was likely an 18lb fish, happy days.

Thanks, I'm trying to tidy up the language but struggling. The vocabulary has been baked into me growing up around rough people (not an excuse) I'll do better.
