Never been a fan of pontoon boats, but have to say this boat is as impressive as I have seen. The logic of the reverse shaped screen in terms of adding space in the cabin isn't something I have considered before. And given the lack of Matt Watson customisation, this 'standard boat' is a real weapon. Good on ya Matt - looking forward to the live content upcoming!
Only thing I would change would be an electric trailer winch. I've had to replace too many props for "experienced" folk who drive their boats onto trailers. 🤣 I only winch onto trailers now
No can't say I've noticed it unless I'm trying to sleep. These boats have foam filled pontoons so they are much quieter than conventional aluminium boats
Have learned a lot from this boat and it's been a big influence on the design of my next boat, but not of all it has been a whole lot of fun. We've got some cool content coming from missions on this boat 🤟
May I ask why are you only owning it for a short time? Obviously getting bigger one or something is it a fill in boat while you are waiting? Anyway impressive bit of kit cheers
Thanks Matt, enjoyed the review. Looking forward to seeing the new waka! What size are those talicas? And what are your thoughts on those vs Tiagra 50w?
We've been running Talica 50's since they were first launched about 10 years ago. In fact we were the first to trial in NZ, and first fish was a 320kg Swordfish. Since then we've caught marlin up to 800lb amnd swordfish up to 900lb, and I've not owned a Tiagra for over 8 years, all my big game is on the Talica 50's. Don't get me wrong, the Tiagras are awesome, it's just the Talicas are so much lighter so ideal for bait and switch and just easy on a trailer boat.
Awesome rig. Hey ya should look into the AL KO IQ7 I run one in my 3.2t boat it's great and no need to carry a battery anymore as it's built in break away uses air to apply the brakes so no electric break aways now. Less shit to go wrong as ya say about electric winches. Lol.
The new boat was still in design phase at the end of last year and I needed a boat for summer. So rather then rush the new boat through design and testing, I took this boat to let me get a feel for the different layout and see how a smaller boat suited my fishing. Also I wasn't convinced I would like the forward facing screen, so this was an opportunity for me to give it a go, before finalising the cabin on my new boat. It has been a well worthwhile exercise because I've learned a lot and it's ultimately allowed us the time to improve the new model.
Does anybody know at 15.03 what antenna this is for starlink? I haven’t seen a small roof flush mounted option, I want one as my sat handset plan runs out soon and it’s an archaic dinosaur!

@@UltimateFishingTV That’s a good explanation and sound reasoning. It’s impressive with technology and simplicity it seems. Realistically it’s complex and you and your channel continue to raise the bar. Thank you Jjr. PS I’d recommend the SeaKeeper Ride TRIM TABS. I demonstrated a boat with them and they really help to reduce pitch and yaw while going 15 mph and above. They really really work if your next boat can handle them.

Been waiting MONTHS for this. Looks like a beast
Years for me.....
I thought this boat was really ugly at 1st but it actually does look battle hardened! I like it!!!!!!
I liked your previous boat matt the one with the bar and tv screen that was a killer with 2 engines.
Need more of these pocket canyon runners in the US.
Wild as rig Matt - love it man
Having that mouse is the best thing I've ever heard. If I could buy a boat, Stabi would be the one.
That's setup so well! I want one

Sick boat Matt 🤙
I think the forward windscreen looks tough as!!
Love these, do you find the water lapping on the aluminium annoying at rest?

Why no kicker /twin eng set up ?
Qué máquina, me encanta, lo único es que es difícil comprar uno en España, solo en Escandinavia
wow impressive

Hec! Sick boat
Nice rig Matt. I'm laughing at the few looser jealous comments 😂
Thanks for the content and tight lines 👍🏻
Hey Matty, a little confused. Why is this a temporary boat? Have you got something else in the pipeline? Looks sick though!! Thanks.
see answers above
5 weeks? I waited a year!!! And that was for a 1450 Profish!
Just curious Mat, why do you only have this boat for a limited time? How far off is your next boat?
Maybe it's a giveaway in the future?

@@UltimateFishingTV so no giveaway??
@@UltimateFishingTV Cheers for the comprehensive reply. Will be interesting to see what your new boat looks like!
A few questions what's your hp speed n fuel use and the cost for this
review covers fuel use. See 20.15 - basically 1.5km or 0.9 nm per litre of fuel.

Stabix next to get off that beach at the house is it
How much does that basic boat cost? 150k usd?
Bit more like 180kusd
@@TomFisho1 Good thing they keep it cheap for all of us regular guys. Who can't build a custom boat. lol
What top wnd speed are you getting woth the 300 Matt?
40kn
@@UltimateFishingTV Cheers 👍
what happend to the last boat? that one was heaps better
😊😊😊😊
140k plus right there
Thats a big plus I would say . Prob add another 60k-80k at least if in NZ dollars.
Nice boat... The only thing I wonder is why you're already planning a new boat after owning this one for such a short time?
