The year is 1907. It is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House and the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak-shows of Coney Island. In this new electrically-charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar. All that is missing is his love - Christine Daaé. Now one of the world’s finest sopranos, Christine is struggling in an ailing marriage to Raoul. So, it is with excitement she accepts an invitation to travel to New York and perform at a renowned opera house. In a final bid to win back her love, the Phantom lures Christine, her husband, and their young son Gustave from Manhattan; to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island… not knowing what is in store for them…

I just got back from seeing it!! It was freaking amazing!! I went in ready for disappointment, but this definitely did not disappoint! You can't compare the two because they're so different. I love BOTH in their different ways. Ah! Just so great. FANTASIC job to Webber!!
They should make this into a movie
im just 12 yrs old and i love a lot of musicals and especially POTO and now this one it's amazing i bought a dvd of this with my own money that i kept in my piggy bank and i love the story the ending almost made me cry

IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!! I JUST SAW IT TONIGHT AT THE MOVIE THEATER!! I AM DEFINITELY BUYING IT WHEN IT COMES OUT. BEN LEWIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PHANTOMS OF ALL TIME.

Don't buy this on DVD........get the Blu Ray!! Looks amazing in that quality! :D

I wish I lived in the US so that I could by the DVD!!! I bought the original CD/DVD Deluxe Package sold a couple years ago (or was it just 1 year ago?) and I loved it!!! Mexico doesn't seem to receive anything amazing like this!! I AM SUCH A FAN!!
SO pleased! I know i'd never get to see the production live, so i'm just thrilled that i'll still be able to see it.
I love this production,if it were alternative casts or not,I still love it dearly,I will buy it even not Ramin and Sierra.Ben and Anna nail the show to me,Ramin and Sierra are GREAT,but AU LND has special features just as UK one...

looks beautiful :) hope they decide to open it on broadway I've been a huge fan of the phantom of the opera since I was 10 and each year the theater camp I go to in summer takes us to 2 broadway shows a year. TPOTO was the best I ever saw. It would mean the world to me to watch the sequel :D

Love Never Dies is fantastic
We saw this "movie version" it was not good! As I watched this movie with an open mind-most of it was not bad until the very end. As huge, huge Phantom of the Opera fans (we've seen it over 50 times all over the world) we absolutely hated the ending of Love Never Dies-no wonder it closed in London after only 18 months! It looked to me like Andrew Lloyd Webber had PURE revenge on his former wife Sarah Brightman. He wrote Christine for her and he wanted “closure” from her! Art imitates life.

I like the sequel, except one thing: their child. Erik is simply not a type of man for a father, he is a Byronic hero, and his relationship with Christine was at first something between daughter and father (so it's a bit awkward for them to have kid) and later, it grew up in passionate & mysterious romance of denied love, so one more reason for not having a kid.
Release this sooner!!

So, are you sure that we can't have the London one on DVD? Since, you know, it's dead anyway...? I mean, people can see this one live, but us poor souls only have the phantom of the UK version (if you'll excuse the pun).

I like the changes in the australian production. Even though I think the Australian Cast is wonderful, I still would LOVE to have the Londen version on DVD as wel!! I'm a big fan of Sierra and Ramin!! But also, to me, it feels that the Londen Cast puts more emotion in the whole performance. Of course i'll buy this DVD, but I secretly hope that the Londen production can come on DVD as well (if it is recorded....)

So the Australian production gets to be on DVD, but the London cast (Which is so much better in my opinion) can't be??!!!! I think Sierra and Ramin are so much better.
